  1. Lord Praven - Pureblood that you can convert on Tatooine (Knight) Attros Finn - Jedi on Coruscant that tries to heal Master Yuon (Consular) Beryl Thorne - Republic Privateer (Smuggler) Jonas Balkar - SIS Agent (Trooper) Jaxo - Republic Army Sergeant (Trooper) Lord Rathari - Sith who works against Baras on Nar Shadaa (Warrior) FimmRess - Sith bodyguard for Duke Kendoh on Alderaan (Warrior) Corrin and Kaal - Zash's former apprentices (Inquisitor) Urtel Moren - Elana Thul's bodyguard on Alderaan (Inquisitor) Saber, Wheel, and Chance - Ardun Kothe's SIS team (Agent) Sanju Pyne - Informant on Balmorra (Agent) Ki Sazen - Zabrak Jedi on Taris (Agent) Captain Biron - Imperial officer who works with the Republic to take down the White Maw on Hoth (Republic) Cole Cantarus - Cor-Sec officer on Corellia (Republic) Yudrass - Chiss officer on Hoth (Empire) Lord Cytherat - Sith from Makeb (Empire) A bit sad when some of the NPCs are more interesting than our companions.
  2. The Revan novel was an atrocity that should never have been written. So no, I am not cool with Scourge killing the Exile, just like I'm not cool with Taral V, Maelstrom Prison, Boarding Party, the Foundry, Forged Alliances, and the Shadow of Revan expansion. (I did like Forged Alliances and SoR, but I was not a fan of the Revan and his Revanites plot.) I am also really not cool with Scourge being forced into my Jedi Knight's party, where he reminisces about what good buddies he was with Revan and the Exile before he betrayed them. Not being allowed to turn him over to the Jedi Council for imprisonment or kicking him off of my ship once Chapter 3 had ended ticked me off. The second I am allowed to kill him, I am taking it, on Every. Single. Character. Revan reads like a KOTOR fanboy's fanfiction, where they loved Revan so much that they wanted Revan to be a part of SWTOR, then realized that they needed to shoehorn in some KOTOR 2/Exile stuff (which they never played), so they skimmed the Wikipedia entry for it and hastily slapped something together that killed off the "boring" Jedi (the Exile) in favour of the all-mighty Revan. Seriously, Drew, I love your work, but that book is an abomination. Would it really have been so bad to leave KOTOR in the past, where it belongs, instead of basically ruining it by dragging it into SWTOR?
  3. Worst: Scourge. I blame the Revan book (if one could call that pile of wasted dead trees a "book"). Favourite: Torian. Mandalorians and Johnny Yong Bosch. Yes, please.
  4. If I'm writing specifically about one person's story, I tend to use first person because it's all about how they react to events, people, etc, and what they think about it. I've read the first three books of The Morganville Vampires by Rachel Caine, which are entirely in third person but focuses only on Claire, the main character, and I find it really off. I know a lot of people rag on first person perspective, but I like it when it's used for one person's P.O.V. only and not swapping P.O.V.s, like the last three books of the Bloodlines series by Richelle Mead. That annoyed the hell out of me. Third Person Limited is what I like to use when I'm writing about more than one narrator or especially an ensemble cast. I've tried True Omniscient Narrative before and couldn't really get into it. I feel like a limited narrative gives the story a bit more suspense since the characters don't know what's going to happen. I also find that sometimes it helps with world building if one of the protagonists is ignorant. Because come on, is anyone else tired of pages upon pages of one conversation where someone has to explain to the protagonist how all the lore works, instead of it being sprinkled throughout the narrative as new things come up? I guess it depends on what you feel comfortable with and how you want your story to be presented. I would never write in present tense, for example, because I hate it and feel like most of the time it is used incorrectly, but some people only write in present tense and hate past tense. Same for first person and third person. That's why I follow this simple rule for myself: one person's story, first person. Multiple people and their story, third person. PS. Love the crack at Laurell K. Hamilton. Nike swooshes for everyone!
  5. Ah, true enough. I must be mixing up the lore: only a Darth can be on the Council, but you don't have to be on the Council to be a Darth. Still miffed about the Warrior's original title being removed. Boo.
  6. Putting spoilers for the Warrior and Inquisitor stories, just in case.
  7. Torian > Vector > Quinn > Theron > Doc. The rest, meh. I played through all the romances once and let's just say there's some cheating going on when I finally take some of them through KOTFE. Corso's romance could be sweet, but overall throughout the story he annoyed me, even though my Smuggler didn't cheat or flirt with other guys. (Doing so on another Smuggler was a hoot though.) He and Quinn are those LIs that are either loved or hated, there seems to be no in between. Jorgan, well, why have Jorgan when you could flirt with Jonas Balkar? (Why couldn't I have him? Wahh.) Andronikus wasn't memorable enough. Not boring, per say, just... I don't know, didn't really do it for me, even with dat voice. *chokes* Bwhahahaha. A friend of mine said she did Chapter 14 the other day and found the Torian/Hunter romance boring, but Iresso, yeesh. I don't know if it's because you get him so late, the Consular is so emotionless, or what, but I couldn't get into it.
  8. I like the rest of him, it's just the hair. But like I said, it's growing on me and looks fine on him (I'd never choose it willingly for one of my characters though, bleh!). Customizations would only work if we could design them, I hate the majority of the preset customizations for all companions.
  9. My favourite will always be Torian. Ever since I found out before release that he would be voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch, I was overly excited and hoped he wouldn't be a terrible character. Luckily, BioWare did not disappoint me and made him Mandalorian to boot (although that hairstyle, yeesh. It's slowly growing on me). I was so happy to get him back in Chapter 14! Incoming spoilery-ish picture from Chapter 14, take heed if you haven't played it with a Torian romance:
  10. Tempted to hold off on my trooper because if they ever gave us Jonas as a companion/romance option, she would zero in on that with deadly precision. Alas, with all the returning companions I doubt they're going to give us brand new ones besides the ones we got in Chapters I-IX.
  11. <3 this. Love me some Damon. As for Theron, he's one of those male characters that can be nice without being too boring, interesting without being an arse, and he can defer to the main character without being a doormat or a whiner. After getting stuck with the Corsos and Arics of SWTOR, it's nice to have someone who's not so... annoying? Extreme? Either way, Theron is a nice addition.
  12. I wish. Jaxo and Jonas were great NPCs that I really enjoyed during the Trooper story!
  13. 4.1 is supposed to fix gifts (and bugged romances), supposedly. I'm hoping we'll be able to take Theron around with us a fair bit in Chapter X!
  14. Only if my Bounty Hunter can actually use her jetpack to get to high places like she does in cutscenes.
  15. My Operative wishes she could use her cutscene pistol instead of a rifle.
