  1. i dont understand how someone can be against optimization.
  2. I also think there is something wrong with the engine. The game runs fine in PVE but in warzones when there is lots of action my FPS is dropping all the time. I tried using the LOWEST possible setting, didnt do anything. Big joke.
  3. I know how you feel, and its why I say that GW2 isnt for everyone. But have you honestly ever tried a PVP game that was just that, "everyone is balanced" ? It is, I think, BRILLIANT. Honestly, stomping undergeared players is fun, I admit, but it gets old after a while. However, demolishing equally geared players just because you have more skills at the game will never get old. At least, for me.
  4. Rated Wz will fix that problem. Good premades will fight together. Good PUGers vs bad premades and noobs vs noobs. The problem, after that, is pretty much fixed.
  5. yeah I beleive a lot of players dont fully understand basic huttball strategies. Even a group of 2 can keep scoring again and again if they know what they are doing. this will change as more players get better at the game.
  6. This is my concern as well. Just watch the mentality here, people that grinded to battlemaster report that they are bored because they "don't have incentive to play" anymore. so... I wonder if we'll really have vibrant world PVP, considering there is really no incentive given in GW2.
  7. No, we didnt. When I bought the game, I seriously had no clue. I wish I was repub now. But I wont reroll just for BW mistakes.
  8. Its normal for our expectations to go up. Honestly I dont understand the logic behind comparing TOR in 2012 to wow in 2004. Its a completely different market! Someone made a great analogy in a different thread, and I'm going to use it here. Would you buy a black and white TV from a new company, with the excuse that they are new and that they need time to develop? No, you'll buy a perfectly fine color TV from panasonic or samsung. Black and white TVs were cool in 1970. They arent anymore. Would you buy a car that had no power steering, no AC, that you had to start with a hand crank? For the SAME price as a 2012 car? Why would anyone do that is beyond me. Yet we accept this kind of ******** in MMOs. Its "acceptable" to launch them with missing features or full of bugs, because... well, just because. Theres no reason, theres no logic behind it. You guys have to notice that MMOs are the ONLY market where this kind of BS is acceptable. I mean, anywhere else, a company would never release something based on the standards of 5 years, or even 2 years ago. Why are we accepting it?
  9. Same, but that was 10 years ago. We're not the majority anymore! Still, I'm waiting for GW2 and hope it does well.
  10. I dont know, I see GW2 more like a "niche" game. What I think will happen is that when GW2 releases, people will realize that there is no gear grind in that game. Without it, people will get bored, demand more, then finally leave. Just look here, people are grinding their way to BM and then leaving because "there is nothing else to do" (they already got the best gear). The majority of players need a carrot on a stick constantly dangling in front of them to "motivate" them to log in and play. Remove that and they'll stop playing. I say good riddance, but with that in mind I dont expect GW2 to be a "HUGE" success. It'll do fine but not amazing.
  11. I agree about not getting TSW on release. Funcom usually release pretty bad game but they improve over time. I heard AoC is pretty cool now! But it was a total POS when it released. edit : I agree about the story. The class quests are fun, but the side quests get repetitive after lvl 20 or so. I spacebar everything not class related.
  12. Actually GW1 pvp was a total blast. You pick 7 (or 8?) skills from a pool of HUNDREDS of skills, and there is no cost to change which skills you are using. Its a pretty interesting system, where you can experiment and REALLY customize your character and playstyle. I.E. the mage class had dozens of really cool skill builds, instead of the 2-3 viable "cookie-cutter" specs that we are forced to use with a talent system like SWTOR.
  13. Haha, I actually have to agree with you on that. I'd gladly take lag free arenas over the laggy BS that we call warzones. I'd prefer if they fixed their engine, however.
  14. No, you're not reading correctly. What I am saying is that I can play with my friends in Wz and do well because in a team of 8 the synergy between classes isnt so important. There is room for everyone, and what is important is coordination and teamwork. When you limit it to 2v2, synergy becomes MUCH more important (too much, IMO). A quick example would be the merc/commando ACs. Pretty good in warzones, but I personally wouldn't want to team with one in a 2v2 because they lack interrupts and control. When 1 person in your team of 8 is lacking an interrupt, its no big deal really. But in a 2v2 I dont think it could work. Thats why I think they need to focus on big scale PVP instead of small 2v2 and 3v3s
