Beta users were not allowed to use voice chat programs so that all communication was through in-game chat options, so that the dev team could aggregate information about the game in this manner. It's hard to believe that they would change this practice if it proved useful to them. Keep in mind that out of 1.7 million active subscribers, they're probably not "reading" your chat logs, but searching a database for key phrases or circumstances and reading snippets of that. But they certainly have the ability to read it. And they probably will read bits of it now and then. I disagree with the practice, but not enough to get up in arms over it.

The sample size "vast majority" is taken from those who have tried it. Next time somebody says "vast majority" to you in any context, please try to remember they are not talking about a significant portion of the nearly seven billion people on planet Earth.

I'm against dual-spec. Though perhaps more bizarre than the claim that "we" want it (implying everybody) when some do (a portion less than the whole) is the defense that "we" want it when others point out that it's a ludicrous assertion.

The light side lightsabers are cheaper on the GTN on the Empire side. So there's that. And not really an advantage, but it sure is fun to choose the light side options during Empire-side flashpoints and win the roll.

Clearly the community is split on this. If we're split, it's not, "The worst idea EVAR!" A playable Gungan race is the worst idea ever. Don't exaggerate, it cheapens your point.

As a Knight/Warrior, I commonly turn around at the end of a mission to go back, and see the landscape littered with drops that I didn't pick up because I was too busy ADHD leaping from mob to mob to keep my resources high.

I certainly doubt anybody's being paid to post negative comments. The reality is that more people in this MMO means more success for all MMOs in the long term, and the other companies understand that. That being said, I play on three servers. On the first server that I was assigned, I had hour long queues to get on during the Early Game Access process, and for about a week after the official launch. My entire guild quit and re-rolled on a different server. The second server was one of the ones created after launch, so it had zero pre-orders on it. The third server is an RP server that I play on from time to time because the people there keep General lively. On the first server, there's been quite a large drop off. Still, it typically goes to Very Heavy once a night, and is Heavy the rest of the evening. I haven't seen it full in ages, though. On the second server, it has had a slow but incredibly steady growth. It's also typically Heavy, and occasionally goes to Very Heavy. It just keeps growing. It's awesome. The RP server has had a steady (heavy) population since I've been on it, but the community is extremely strong with a good sense of the other people playing. Nothing that I've personally seen indicates that anything is dying anytime soon.

The game has a horrendous memory leak that the devs are aware of, but not aware of how to fix. They'll get it right some day, but they're a notorious pain in the backside to track down.

Nothing wrong with a couple of Jedi With Benefits keeping things casual.

Combat logs can be used to make mods. I'm not here to debate it, but there's a reason for it. They've said they ARE working on a way to see information about your combat, but Georg phrased it weird and said something you'll be able to see YOUR info (he did not emphasize that word) and people have picked it apart to assume this means that the combat log will only have your damage in it and not that of others.
