  1. If your wife really wants a Tauntaun pet, you can find them on Hoth. You need to buy an Ice Scrabbler Jerky from GTN (or craft it) and buy the NVSCSS from Alderaan (same place you get the MGGS) and those combined allow you to lure out the Tauntaun and catch it. There are also a few Tauntaun mounts in the game too.
  2. I have a question about the cost of unlocking other housing locations. We know that capital worlds, Tatooine and Nar Shaddaa will having housing and that Nar Shaddaa would cost 4 million credits to unlock normally. Does this mean all houses will have five additional rooms and can be fully unlocked for 4 million, or will different locations have different number of rooms and different costs per room?
  3. I don't think language is an issue at all. I'm on an EU English server and foreign languages have their own guilds, their own custom language channels and their own voice comms. While it could be an issue when typing tactics or instructions, I've played long enough to know that even in a group who all speak the same language, there are going to be people who flat out ignore, don't notice or just don't understand. The issue I'd have is latency. I can drive around fleet on my server and get about 34-50ms. I drive about on a US East Coast server 95-200ms. I remember being on the Aussie servers for a laugh at one point when the my servers went offline and I think it was around 300-500ms. No telling how those fraction of a seconds could impact heals and attacks in PvP and raids. Then you've got timezones, is it really worth making a mega server when two thirds of the world are going to be sleeping or at work when the final third is raiding.
  4. I just a ran KDY as a level 51. Major Experience bonus, no character perks (none at all for anything), 10% guild bonus and rested. It would seem that even as a level 51, I was not getting the same amount as the Devs, who were getting more at level 50. A weird thing I noticed was randomly getting different experience for kills. It was a very small different which I am unable to explain why. The different experience started popping half way through the second instance and the exp then being gained in brackets. Weak: 327 (330) Normal: 547 (546) Strong: 1653 (1651) Elite: 4153 (4137) Champ: 8275. Load Lifter both times Boss: 16,551 Kill Bonus: 3060 (on each of the two random instances). Crates bonus: 6799 Completion: 47,890 Daily Group Finder: 34,212. Total exp earned: 284,315. Levels of other players: 18, 43, 53. Makes me wonder if the level of other players is having an effect on how much experience is gained, like it would do in quests and standard flashpoints.
  5. The exact same amount of experience. Double EXP replaces rested, it doesn't double it.
  6. KDY is a non issue. I believe the problem with KDY was that people were noticing no difference between rested kills and double experience so of course people have to come onto the forums and complain about it. I noticed that I was getting the same experience for kills but double experience was being granted when it came to bonuses and completing the flashpoint. I did however come across the dreaded no exp in standard flashpoints and am glad that's been fixed.
  7. If you've not done it, try adding a dye from the ICE vendor to your gear. The grey/red and grey/purple dyes. Once you do that, it says it's been added to your collection despite Collection not having a dye category. So I would be inclined to believe there is some sort of dye hidden category. It definitely would be a good thing to have, because spending 1,000 or 2,000 cartel coins on a single use dye is beyond absurd.
  8. I am not sure it's really fair to connect PvPers getting a cool mount to subscribers getting something cool. PvPers are finally being rewarded for their skills and ability while PvE players have been able to collect a dozen different mounts, unique items and pets that drop from Operation bosses. It's really about time that PvPers are able to unlock things like gear, weapons, titles, pets and mounts. The PvP commendation items from the vendors don't count because anyone can farm enough comms to unlock the pets or mounts. Any player who gets that rancor mount legitimately really does deserve it. I hadn't bothered with ranked pvp on my characters since pre-season 1 ending and my god, it was a disaster doing solo pvp hoping to get a rank high enough for that mount. I just decided not to bother. I don't consider myself a great PvPer, but I at least make an effort with PvP gear. The amount of PvE geared players with no coordination baffles the mind. With that said, I wouldn't mind seeing more rewards thrown in the game. Things like the Founder stuff or the Revan title. Hopefully the old Life Day stuff is gone for good just for those collectors to have something special. Perhaps throw in rewards if you've been subbed for 3/6/9/12 and so on months or unlocked 15/30/45/60% of achievements. I don't believe people who sub should necessarily be rewarded, but part of me does believe (as a long term player) that there really isn't anything special in the game any more and anything that could be considered, will eventually lose that specialty. If you play the game long enough, you'll see items making a reappearance so unique items will eventually end up appearing elsewhere. Events will return so rewards like crystals, gear and weapons won't be as special (which is only fair, events should be available to everyone and I hope people will be able to experience the original Rakghoul event) but things that were seemingly removed from the game will be back big time with 4 (I think) Korrelias mounts appear in 2.7, one is on the cartel market now and two are random Czerka related drops. So yeah, throw in more unique rewards but I wouldn't necessarily just give subs something special because they sub.
  9. Datacrons are one of these things I believe everyone should do at least once just to experience. I got all the datacrons fairly early so I developed somewhat of a distaste for finding them due to the jumping involve, and that was made even worse with Makeb. Thank God for Phase Walk or I'd have just given up trying. That said, I do like the idea of them being a Global Unlock or perhaps Character Perks. Perks would probably be more likely but unlocking all on every character would be good. That said, I would keep some stuff limited. Get the stats but not the codex entries/experience. People also have to go out and get the shards individually. Also, keep the Fleet datacron separate too so people have to do that.
  10. Strongholds are apartments that you'll be able to invite people to, decorate and have easy access to things like cargo banks, guild banks and a new legacy bank. You can buy items to decorate with the cartel market, craft using crafting skills, get from legacy and pvp vendors and unlock by doing specific things (trailer shows us beating Karagga gets a large golden Karagga statue). Should you get one? Well if you stay a subscriber, you'll get an apartment with multiple rooms on Nar Shaddaa with Early Access.
  11. Is there any reason why legacy banks won't be included at the launch for early access and will any other features be unavailable (such as buying items from legacy vendors, pvp vendors, crafting and so on)?
  12. You could do normal space missions. You could do other flashpoints. You do class quests. You could do planet storylines. You could do Bonus Series storylines. You could do a mix of everything and do all the dailies. You could drive around fleet and pick up all the individual introductions to flashpoints. You have absolutely no reason to complain because you can level up any way you want to in game, but you're happier just raging against KDY and complaining about GSF and PvP. You've got a ship, use it. There is nothing stopping anyone from getting lots of experience running quests on planets.
  13. Yes they are dead silent. They won't be fixing it on Tuesday like they haven't announced for KDY.
  14. If only they could give us something free to make up for it, perhaps a speeder of sorts. Maybe give it to us when double experience ends. Nah. Bioware would never give us something free. Just a crazy idea I guess.
  15. Here's the problem, people aren't even testing it themselves. It's a bunch of people moaning because KDY isn't working as intended and talking about how their plans are ruined and their experience boosts are going to waste, yet not a single of them have said "I tried Athiss, it didn't work. I tried Hammer Station, it didn't work". I've done flasnpoints other than KDY, no problems at all. Acting like you're not going to gain any experience because of a few reports is childish at best, it's arrogant entitlement at worst when you start demanding compensation. If a flashpoint doesn't work, move onto the next one and try it. They aren't all broken, as they're working for me.
