  1. LOL about your dps sin getting tank chest. I seem to be gearing up half the server with nothing for myself to show for it. The cap on rep and on comm's is stupid. Can't even get a 55 weapon until two weeks have gone by no matter what you do. Well I guess you could bg grind one but they suck compared to my 50 one. Having to spend elite comms on gear is all well and good to fill a few holes but having to use comms to get every single peice of 55 gear would take 3-4 months at least of grinding out comms everyday and basically riding cap the whole time. I keep holding out thinking ya know what next run i will probably get 2-3 peices just wait and see. Then the run is done I'm sitting there holding my junk in my hand crying as the mara in lvl 30 greens just got 3 upgrades and in lvl 30 greens he was still wtfpwnin stuff lol.
  2. Okay I have the acheivment for killing all bosses in Mandalorian Raiders and for Cademimu and have never seen a single Assassin peice of loot drop. Not dps not tank nothing. I have been tanking these since early access started at least 7-8 time's a day granted other FP's have been in that mix as well but to never see a single tank drop in that many run's? How is a tank supposed to get geared if Marauder's and snipers get all the drops. I took one sorc healer with me yesterday he ran all day with me and managed to get his chest, helm, gloves, belt, 2 implants and boots in one day. Meanwhile I saw nothing for tanks the entire time. Considering how hard mobs hit and how crappy tanks scale you would think at least you would get a bone thrown your way eventually. Sadly I do not have a guild to run with so this has all been done through the LFG system, which having people in lvl 30 greens you gotta carry through should give me a reward of something. Anyone else having this issue or is it just my repeated 75+ run bad luck. Drop rates should not be that exceedingly low for tank stuff.
  3. There are a lot of bad marauder's out there which is causing the buff's IMO. The problem now though is the complete and total OP crap. Marauder leaps on you (root) force choke's (stun) builds 4 stacks up smashes for 11K, then start's ravage (stun) which in total is about 8-10K. That is a total decimation of any class pretty much. If your 2m CD is not up your toast cause you can't interupt ravage and can't move out of smash due to root. Granted this is an extreme circumstance and number's maybe inflated a bit but come on the fact remains that your target could do absolutely nothing to prevent 90% of his health gone in 4gcd's. PVE I think they needed a buff due to 2 tree's being pretty much crap I give you that, but BW has created one huge OP killing machine without any weaknesses. And people thought shadow/darkness was OP haven't seen nothin yet. If shadow/darkness defenses worked in PVP you probably would see the spec used for it's intended purpose instead of pure DPS.
  4. Grim you really can't read can you. I said that if he's getting number's like that he is using a spec that doesn't contribute to the team as much as say a normal tank spec'd assassin would. He is padding his number's plain and simple trying to imply a class is OP because he run's around padding meter's while ignoring the objective's is the sign of a troll. I tried to reason thing's out with you and come up with a logical reason for why he can do those number's. As for the speed hack's and stuff yes they are used blatantly on my server and packet hackin seems to be pretty big as well so stranger thing's can happen. The video you posted is rigged to hell anyways. The guy always has expertise buff and adrenal + stim's up in every shot. He can do that damage once every 3-5 minute's not every single time he goes after someone.
  5. Okay if he's running the rakata chest only that would mean he pulled out mods from BM dps gear and put it in BM tank gear. This requires ton's of time due to having to get both set's of gear and quite possibly 3-4 peices of BM gloves for the mods. I'm guessing he maxxed out crit and surge which is OP due to the way it works. However jugg's can do the same thing with there gear and get huge number's on smashes. It looks to me like he has taken a lot of time to put together the perfect set of gear and with pocket healers following him around and chaining Expertise buff's is allowing him to do this. I still don't see the assassin being overpowered by any mean's. Just because a guy can pad the dps meter's while contributing basically nothing to his team doesn't make the class OP.
  6. Something seem's odd about that to be honest. I'm rank 64 and run the usual hybrid spec and only in Voidstar can I see number's anywhere close to that. The protection isn't a big deal cause any tank can do 100K by having a healer stand in fire or slime I see it all the time so that number could easily be bumped up on purpose there. The damage he is doing would have to put him in full rakata gear, I don't see BM gear getting him up there that high. I would be willing to bet he is going in as a premade with at least 2 pocket healer's for 100% uptime on dps. The odd thing that I am seeing there is the amount of healing he is doing. Again he would be having to AOE the crap out of folks with Death Field and burning Harnessed Darkness on proc pretty much non stop. What this mean's is that his number's are high but overall contribution to the team is pretty much crap. PVP is about team work not padding the meter's last I checked. Fixing the other tree's would make other spec's more viable and would help take out a huge amount of the dps/tank's which would make the problem less of an issue.
  7. You are missing something. You are missing that it is voidstar and he had someone guarded obviously by the protection number's and most likely the other team grouped up on one door so he could AOE spamm them. Out of all that damage how many do you think actually died to the assassin. If you hover over his dmg you will probably see his highest hit somewhere around 3-3.3K. Any class can do insane damage if they have 2-3 pocket healers running around with them and the other team groups up. Assassin's have a lot of tools but until they are not pigeon holed into the darkness tree just to actually live longer than 3 seconds, people will continue to use dps gear while in a tank tree. Overall a 3K crit is nothing when people can spamm Tracer or other abilities that hit for over 5K and that is when they hit a tank. Try watching a darkness assassin kill a ball carrier that has 2 healer's with him, It's not going to happen, I have seen almost every class in the game get over 500K+ dmg in voidstar's some can do it in huttball as well. Still haven't figured out why people ignore the assassin that is taunting/guarding and AOE'ing people in the middle of a group, burn him down with focus fire and the rest of his team goes down real quick.
  8. We just got done with full clear's of Karraga's and EV and had the same issue. We got maybe 1-2 rakata token drops all night. Seem's to be an overwhelming amount of armor tech schematic's though.
  9. No the second shock does not build a harness darkness stack. It would be much better if it did but sadly it doesn't, it also doesn't seem to affect the +15% threat either.
  10. I finished sort of tanking EV last night as i mostly got the job of attempting to dps in tank spec and gear. On trash I was able to attempt to tank some stuff and I will tell you threat did not exist period. I was able to Taunt something keep it on me for 6 seconds before it went right back to the Jugg tank or a DPS somewhere. I would then AOE taunt for another 6 seconds and same thing would happen. This was using a 31/0/10 build I was spamming Wither and Discharge every CD to try and keep any sort of AOE threat and it did no good. Even on a single target mob I would use shock + wither as much as possible which are the only 2 skills with agro built in, and I couldn't hold agro at all. Either the jugg would pull off with his AOE or a dps would pull off with there's. It's got to be because when a Jugg get's hit he gets rage so basically they have unlimited resources which to spamm there abilities. Assassin's basically ride on very very low force the entire time. Force just doesn't work for tanking at all, so threat will need to be buff considerably in order for us to be viable tank's.
  11. You will get stomped in a HM flashpoint without full tank gear. You should be in the area of 250+ defense rating and around 5900-6K armor with dark surge up. I started tanking with mostly Champion PVP tank gear. You will probably want around 16K health at the bare minimum. To be completely honest your dps is what needs to be geared. As long as they can burn the bosses down before enrage it's not to bad. But you will basically tank the entire FP with nothing but taunt cause threat doesn't exist right now on an assassin.
  12. I do believe right now that 31/0/10 is the best Ops tank spec. Raze only having a 33% chance on crit to proc is very low especially when in my gear I have around 18% crit buffed. Raze barely ever procs and when it does i get a chain of 2-3 in a row so I end up clipping almost a full duration Darkness. The 5% damage reduction offered by wither is nothing to scoff at when your getting hit for 4K by a boss. I think the best fix for assassin tanks right now is to buff the threat on Dark Surge significantly. It should be at least 100% threat since non of our abilities generate additional threat by themselves. Wither says it does but I have pulled with wither before gotten 1 heal and the mobs hauled *** for the healer. If 1 heal can pull an entire pack of mobs off you then there is no threat on that ability period. Keep in mind this was a test to see if the threat worked not a holy crap you gotta hit with discharge and stuff to. As for mitigation and stuff with enough gear mine is balancing out pretty good to be equal to a PT and Jugg. The difference is the PT and Jugg seem to be much stronger tanks in less gear but don't scale as high as an assassin does. This is a good thing until expansion's and stuff come out.
  13. The reason why I say stacking shield + absorb to start with works best is because your starting gear will be flooded with it. Unless you physically run around buying +def only enhance and mod's you will find it easier to get the absorb. A high defense rating to me didn't seem to help much because if you stack defense to start with your mitigation still won't be high enough to avoid the big hit's. If you parry and dodge stuff great but with a low shield rating if the boss swing's through your defense that hit is going to hurt a lot. This is especially apparent with crit's. We seem to have a hard time handling numerous crit's at a time. Higher defense rating does prevent more hit's which overall reduces the total number of crit's to deal with but even with full Champion gear + some Columi gear I'm still not high enough in the defense to make one better than the other.
  14. Tanking picks up around lvl 36 due to assassinate and other tools. As far as being enjoyable if you don't enjoy it now you will hate it more at 50. Takes a lot of patience to run as an assassin tank. The agro issue's alone will drive you absolutely crazy. Guard is nice and all but what happens when you have 2 dps that can pull right off you. Spamming taunt is boring but sadly at 50 that's about the way it works.
  15. First of all things are much different at 50 and you run with some real geared people before you can really understand the full problems. Discharge has no built in +threat to it. so opening up with discharge only gets them to turn to you. Usually discharge + wither will at least get them facing you. But as soon as dps start's AOEing you will loose all that agro very quickly. Most of it is because of the long CD on discharge and wither. As for stat's and stuff I am still experimenting. What i have found works best starting out is getting as much +shield rating and +absorb as you can. Don't take out defense out of your gear to get it though. When your Dark Ward starts falling off before CD is up. then you need to start getting as much defense as you can while keeping absorb high.
