  1. P2W doesn't exist. It is just a weak argument F2P haters like to use. Even if a person could buy a level 50 with max'ed stats and purchase the best gear in the game, what did they win? PvP it won't matter because the best PvP'ers will have the best gear too and it will come down to skill.
  2. Nope, I've been playing MMO since the day UO launched. Other than PvP rankings and server firsts (which are not tracked at this time), there is nothing else that be considered winning. Buying the best PvP gear in game shop doesn't mean I will be the best PvP'er so P2W doesn't apply in that case either. Again, how do I pay to win?
  3. Except they all but said they couldn't continue supporting the game if they didn't add the FTP option. It might still be around, but it would be in maintencance mode. They had huge drops in subs just like SWTOR did.
  4. Then FTP is not worth it to you to play those games, but it is for many others. Bottom-line: If you like SWTOR and feel it is worth $15/mo then nothing changes for you because you get what you have now.
  5. Then be happy because the only way to get new people is F2P. F2P saved DDO and LotRO. Both would be shut down if it wasn't for the F2P option. And BTW, LotRO still releases significant updates and xpacs as well.
  6. That's not news. The entire legacy system was a beta for MTs. MTs have been in the works since before launch. The original FAQ stated the billing model would be subscription + some other methods. People refuse to see what is in front of them. None this should be a shock to anyone.
  7. 40% didn't say they would buy stuff. 40% that quit said they would play again if it was FTP. They never said they would pay more money. Bottom Line - it doesn't matter. F2P + subscription is here. Not for just this game but for all. Give WoW 6 months and it will have the same thing. It won't bring a ton of people back, but it will bring in a ton of new people and the company will make more money. If you don't like capitalism, that's fine, but the CEO has one job and that is it increase the returns to investors and not make a minority of FTP haters happy.
  8. Yes. The who's name we won't mention will too, very soon.
  9. Ya and..... Oh, you said it all. They want the game to last more than 5 years and SWG was 8 years....
  10. Simple, there is x% who quit every game after the free trial. There is nothing anyone can do about that. If I had to guess, the economy would be 2nd or 3rd. While I haven't seen the exit survey, I would be suprised if anything else other than the subscription fee was the #1 and I doubt the #2 reason was even at 20%.
  11. Thye want you to go to fleet. That is why they removed all most all terminals from all the planets.
  12. Seriously? Up to 3 million people without power at one point and 20+ people killed and you want some game credit? Put a claim in with your insurance and do us a favor and delete this post. You are clearly a fool.
  13. Then don't do it. The developers have given the players multiple paths for advancement. If you feel you must do them all then do them, that is your issue. If you are going to do them all, just understand what comes with that.
