  1. I think some people forget that it wasn’t always “one story” back in the day. There always have been times where who we support determines who wins a fight. The first example that comes to mind is the regicide of King Ulgo on Alderaan. But it also applies to most flashpoints, too. We just have more of that now.
  2. I think a lot of us feel that way. Today’s story update was actually quite good. I enjoyed all of it… except the end, where it turns out we still don’t have any idea of where this story is going. We’re clearly building toward an expansion (or similar), but when will we finally get there? When will we see what this great unearthed power is supposed to be? I feel like, at this rate, our next major story update will be the reveal of what we’re facing- just to then be followed up another few months later with the actual content of that reveal. But credit where it’s due: today’s update was both more content and better content than the 7.0 update (albeit it’s not faction-locked like 7.0). So, we’re going the right direction again. I just wish we could get some faster momentum.
  3. …a Drengir, from the High Republic era? Because they had some stunning similarities! 1: They were both engineered by ancient Sith 2: They were both plant-like creatures 3: They were both strong with the Dark Side 4: They were both capable of telepathic assaults and mind-control They just had so much in common! I would love to know if this was an intentional connection between the Old Republic and High Republic eras. Would love for a developer to come in with a yes or no, here. Major props on the flashpoint, too. Shrine of Silence might be might new favorite PvE encounter.
  4. This is actually incorrect. About half the depictions we see of Revan he is wielding two lightsabers at once. Famously, during the vision sequence in KOTOR 2, he wields a red lightsaber and a purple lightsaber. Likely symbolizing that he is one part Sith and one part Jedi. That other half of the depictions of him, we see him wielding a single lightsaber: Purple as a Jedi, red as a Sith. Once he even used a green lightsaber. For that reason, I would strongly recommend replacing the Sith Juggernaut choice with a Sith Marauder. During your Jedi Combat Style, I believe you really cannot go wrong with Guardian or Sage. Revan was an expert duelist, but he was also incredibly adept with Force Powers. I'm actually leaning toward Guardian, but for the sake of "fun" I say pick Sage, that way you can play two very different playstyles between your first and second Combat Styles. Plus... the Sage starts with a green lightsaber, as is befitting a Consular, so that would tie in nicely to that one time Revan used a green lightsaber.
  5. OP just want to clarify a few things since I haven’t seen anyone actually condense their (helpful) comments into one message: 1: There are cutscenes in the Operations before the final bosses 2: However, these cutscenes do not have dialogue options, and are mostly just dramatic openings to the fight 3: Everyone in the group can spacebar cutscenes to skip them- but not everyone is dragged into skipping then! If all 7 other players skip them, but you don’t, you still get to watch the cutscene! 4: All cutscenes are very brief and your group likely won’t even notice you’re in them. 5: There are two operations you have to do: Dread Fortress then Dread Palace. You must do them in that order. 6: After each operation, there is a brief cutscene with dialogue choices. It’s not in the instanced area and you won’t be with your group still, so you are free to take as much time as you want with them! In order to get full story completion, you must engage in a short cutscene between Dread Fortress and Dread Palace (don’t make my mistake). 7: Story mode of both Operations are pretty easy and you won’t have trouble finding a group. Just do your best and you’ll probably learn a bit, too. Enjoy!
  6. Much of the last few years' factional conflict stories have focused around the resource crisis that the Empire and Republic have been facing (Thanks, Arcann). As a result, many of our decisions in the loyalist-or-saboteur plot involved giving resources to one faction or the other. And we have been making those choices for awhile: Iokath, Ossus, Dantooine, Onderon, Mek-Sha, the Meridian Complex, now Manaan. I hope that some day we see the results of those decisions. Some "final flashpoint" where the combat is harder or easier based on how many resources we have given our faction.
  7. It should be in-universe. And even if it’s not, it still doesn’t make sense to use a dating system dealing in thousands of years instead of dozens. We should be sticking with BTC/ATC. That’s actually relevant to SWTOR.
  8. Where is Raxus Prime in SWTOR? That’s news to me that it shows up anywhere.
  9. Kallig’s race is unknown, but definitely not Chiss. I see no problem assuming Kallig was a human, as were all of his descendants, until one of the Inquisitor’s parents. Let’s say that this descendant is an enslaved human man. He meets a Chiss woman who was arrested on Dromund Kaas and sent to Imperial slavery. They have a child. This child inherits their mother’s Chiss biology and becomes the Sith Inquisitor. Problem solved.
  10. I swear, I will never fully understand how to keep track of this timeline.
  11. There is an oversight I spotted in the Ruhnuk planet description that is problematic. I am afraid I do not have the verbatim quote, but the planet description lists that the world was abandoned in the year 3663 BBY. This is a massive problem because… we are still 3663 years from the Battle of Yavin. It would be like someone in 100 BC explaining that they lived 100 years before Christ. It doesn’t make any sense. Surely this could be changed to something ATC (After Treaty of Coruscant?) or better yet, no date range, so it is ambiguously set if someone wants to view the galaxy map earlier in the game.
  12. I second what RuneJS second: This boss is simply just too easy. I was able to perform a kill in a duo with someone outside the group- I tanked as a Guardian, and did not need a healer companion (And I finished the fight at 76% health). I have 330 gear, but I really doubt gear will make much of a difference. Companions can also be used in the fight, which is wrong for a World Boss. In fact, speaking of companions: the closest thing to too much damage was my ranged damage-dealing companion getting caught in Eruption AOEs. In addition to adding a buff that stuns companions, tripling the boss HP and the damage output would be a good start. Some Elite Hidden Chain "Glory-Hunter" adds would make the fight more exciting. They could show up, try and attack the Ops group with the implication that they are there to steal the kill. And I implore to make these potential changes soon, because I would like to test the fight! There are two other things worth stating: 1: The boss' model: It's just a Varlax from Dxun. Which may be fitting, given that Mandalorians have a relationship with Dxun- but this is supposed to be native to Ruhnuk, correct? It should probably have a more unique model. Or maybe at least something more iconic? Zakkegs are from Dxun and are iconic beasts that Mandalorians try to bring down... or at least a different color for the boss. 2: Could the World Boss be an instanced Lair Boss, like Golden Fury? It is hardly a big deal, but why allow for public competition for boss kills? The Kithrawl is also tucked away in an alcove, so why not put a Lair entrance somewhere in the pipes that lead to the boss' nest? Bottom line: this could be a fun fight. But it needs to be scaled for an Operation group, not a Flashpoint. Make it harder!
