  1. Yes these are the answers I expected. I have no problem with people queing with friends. But as was suggested above, people queing with friends should be playing against others queing with friends. And people with "no friends" like me, should be able to hop on and do their dailies with an even chance of playing in a competitive game. You do get good games which I really enjoy, but the premades who sit there and face roll pugs all day are annoying. Despite the protests I suspect the majority of the above posters just like face rolling. Honestly, why wouldn't you want a separate que? Don't you find competitive games more fun than stomping the other team 6-0 in huttball over and over. My only thought is one, you know you won't be able to compete against serious competition, or two the ques would be much longer. In case of one, stick to pve, in case of two, why should the majority then suffer for a minority who gets off on curb stomping pugs? But as was mentioned, this is the way of things in most mmos. Can take my 14.95 a month else where.
  2. Played for a couple of months at launch and just came back. Having fun with a new scoundrel and would like to finish the class story with him. I subbed but am not subbing for a second month. My main complaint is getting into wz's even at low level and running into people from the same few guilds queing as groups and slaughtering pugs. Just finished two hutballs early this morning 12-0 imps vs. pubs. It seems like the majority of matches are this way. Why don't they have separate ques for premades?

  4. Thanks much guys for the feedback. Viking, I read your post also, but was wondering specifically about pop times. I think I'm leaning toward BC because it seems like things were a little laggier on EH for me. Anyways thanks again for the answers.
  5. I just returned to the game OP, but it is the same in all mmos. Few people like to tank because you really have the most responsibility of anyone in the group. You have to lead, you have to hold aggro and you have to be well-geared. Also you have to be prepared for being blamed when virtually anything goes wrong, even if you are doing everything right. I would love to roll up a tanking Vanguard but am going to pass as I won't have the gear and I won't know the fights. Will stick to a dps or support class first time around and maybe do a tank second time around. Good for you though, get the best gear you can for your level, hold aggro as best you can and learn as you go. If people don't like it, they can find a new tank or roll one themselves
  6. I played for a couple of months after launch, and am just returning. I want to play on an RP server and I am debating between BC and EH. Fooling around with /who on both servers and factions, it seems like there are a lot more people on EH, but that the faction pops are more balanced on BC. I kind of want to play an IO so am favoring BC. My question is what are the pvp and flashpoint pop times like on BC, especially on Imp side. Also, can you find groups while leveling? Based on my experience in mmos I have found the following. The higher pop servers generally offer more pve opportunities and quicker wf pops . However smaller servers tend to be closer knit and have nicer communities because of reputation considerations. So based on the foregoing, I think I am down to playing a Vanguard on EH or an IO on BC. Any guidance would be appreciated Thanks.
  7. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#301GoMrdRbRgZrZbcb.1 Maybe this for a pvp tank build. I really like racking up the big protection numbers...had 99k at level 30 last night in one wz. That 10 percent extra shield chance seems like a big deal....is it not worth it?

    It is funny

I see lots of posts where people are talking about having a fully decked out toon in BM gear and other level 50 toons, then talking about how bad the game sucks. If the game is so terrible, why have you spent soooo much of your life playing it over the last two months? I came into this game with very low expectations and have been pleasantly surprised..... still playing. All and all I think it has launched in pretty good shape. Not perfect, but pretty good, and has held my interest. I just don't get the massive negativity. Maybe unrealistic expectations? I mean come on guys, its not like it launched in an Age of Conan or Vanguard state or something.
  9. My PT is level 30 and I am full shield tech. Just wondering if I should go all the way up and grab heat blast, or is retractable blade better? Just curious as to what most people are doing...mainly focusing on pvp. Thanks.
  10. I have played both to around 30. Trooper armor looks better. I personally liked the lightside trooper story, and I liked the companions a lot. IMO stockstrike looks better than rocket punch. Also, Thunderclap ship is my favorite starship. I personally like rifles more than pistols. On the other hand. BH gets Mako....so hot. Death from above looks so much better than the Vanguard attack, and the animation delay makes a huge difference. Also, I think other than stockstrike, every other BH animation is better looking than the troopers. BH story is pretty good too so far, and supposedly the rest of the companions are good also. One other thing with either class...people will assume you are a tracer missle spamming newb, even though tech/vg doesn't get that attack haha. Hope this helps.
  11. Remember TM is for Commandos/Mercs only. Vanguards and Powertechs do not get it. And yes the spam is very annoying, but not as bad as lightning/pebble spam in my opinion.
  12. Anyone figure out a way to jury rig a stealth bar? Was thinking maybe a macro or keybind to to another bar and just have stealth talents bound to it. Anyone else working on something like this?
  13. I just reupped my sub for a 3rd month. So I'm not trying to troll here or be a doomsayer. I always make it a point to take a break and stretch my legs every so often while playing. Usually I will log to the server select screen a couple of times during prime time to look at server loads out of curiousity. In checking server loads, you almost never see a full and even very heavy is getting to be pretty rare. Unless they changed the server load rating since launch, clearly there are a lot less people playing than there were. I'm not saying that the game is dying or anything, but it certainly isn't growing by the looks of it. I don't think that is a particulary good sign considering there isn't particularly much competition out there right now. Then again, there are just so many mmos these days. So many more than in the days of EQ or DAoC or even WoW launch when you think about it. Wonder what the devs are thinking? Thoughts?
  14. Are you opposed to premades and non premades having separate ques? If so, can you state why? Thank you.
