  1. My bad then, I understand that had Disney not bought Star Wars, the events of that book would have unfortunately happened in one way or another. But I still think Disney is equally reponsible for allowing that book to be written and published. Just because they inherited that mistake it doesn't mean they had to go along with it. They wouldn't do that with their new canon (or at least I hope).
  2. The book was released in 2015 and therefore it is part of the disney canon, and supposedly approved by them. They could have cancelled it like so many other things. I said that it's not entirely true that Disney is treating the EU with respect, that doesn't mean that I think that what came before did (it didn't). But that is not a matter for this thread. I don't know, you can leave to the authors thanking this or that person for helping, but crediting the original creators? That should have been mandatory, if that's not lack of respect I don't know what it is. I don't know whose fault it was, but at least the editors should have caught that. I'm not blaming Disney directly, but it's a Disney Star Wars book.
  3. The book is called Dark Disciple. You can read the summary on the wookiepedia to see that it clearly doesn't fit with the story of the Republic comics. This quote by John Ostrander was suprisingly easy to find: If you've watched the clone wars series you'll remember his silly little appearance that was out of character, apparently this book was the continuation. I personally can't find a good reason to explain why didn't they use a new character if they wanted to tell a new story.
  4. What they did with Thrawn was respectful because they hired Zahn to write more books about him. I haven't read them yet, but I believe the characterization is similar and he wrote the new books with the old ones in mind. There are incompatibilities due to the change of continuity, but Thrawn is still Thrawn. That is respectful. However what is not respectful is what they did with Quinlan Vos. Take a EU created character, keep the name and a certain resemblance, but then change the story and characterization, and make it canon, supposedly invalidating the original one. Add to that that they did not even credit or thank the original authors anywhere, and I wonder, at that point, why not just create a new character? Dropping EU names and references is not respectful by itself.
  5. Personally I don't mind cartel market items inspired on Disney's Star Wars. Small references are fine as well, although if they're going to reference something, I'd rather it were from the EU. I don't follow most of the disney canon anyway (I still have too much EU stuff left to read), so I don't think I would get the references. Story elements, new planets, history and visual aspects of those planets, I really hope those keep following the EU continuity. I was already quite disappointed that Onderon is based on the clone wars version instead of the one from Tales of the Jedi. But so far I think they are doing it pretty well anyway, using some of the existent stuff to keep it grounded on the EU, and expanding it even more with new locations and stories, like Mek-Sha. I kind of feel like the OP (although not as passionately), that this game is the last bit of EU that is being written, and I'd like it to stay that way. There's already tons of Disney canon being created for those who enjoy it. There's no need for it to take over the last piece of EU.
  6. Choza Raabat as a romance option it is then. He is a follower, male and a jedi, he's perfect.
  7. That's the way I see it as well. I was expecting filler story and i don't mind it, it was good enough, not in every chapter can something spectacular happen. But they need to compensate it with more interesting gameplay, like better fights, creative level design, puzzles or even some platforming. The combination of filler story with filler repetitive fights is what feels underwhelming and makes me fall asleep on my keyboard while playing.
  8. I hope it's this way because they're still temporary companions, otherwise, terrible design decison. I won't be using any of the new companions if I can't customise how they look, there are too many clones on Odessen already. It surprises me they don't think it's going to affect their cartel packs sales, most of the gear I get is for companions.
  9. I personally decided to play it as a vanguard. None of my jedi would ever ally themselves with the sith to defeat another empire or put jedi and sith together in one force enclave, too tempting for the padawans. The warrior and inquisitor could work, but it seems that their power has been reduced to Lana Beniko's level. Non force users feel better in my opinion, it feels like you're dealing with things that you don't understand and are way out of your league, and makes sense to end up accepting Valkorion's power. Out of the 4 non force using classes I think the trooper is the one who better fits the position of Commander.
  10. She's like a sentinel from the Kotor games, just like Bastila
  11. I think he forgot to finish the sentence. The intention is probably for players to be able to solo heroic 2s if they know how to play properly, using their cc, and even their heroic moment and unity for the champion fights. Personally, I think they should have buffed enemy damage instead of reducing companion healing, but something had to be done. I got the one and only title while still wearing greens and with a level 5 affection companion, that's no achievement.
  12. Nice job! Back when I soloed Kaon at level 50 what I did was to skip the turret fight by staying on top of some rubble, I was never able to do it legitimately. The final boss was probably my favourite though. Soloing hm flashpoints were the best moments I've had while playing this game. The only reason I have for getting my companions to level 50 affection is to do it once again. It's probably even better now that the cooldown for the heroic moment is much shorter.
  13. This is nothing new, one of the reasons why I stopped playing was that I did literally fall asleep more than once while doing dailies. The only fun solo gameplay has always been trying to solo group content like hm flashpoints. They should really do something about it and make gameplay more interesting. One thing is to like the story, another very different thing is to want to play a visual novel, story by itself isn't enough. Unfortunately people (and Bioware) seem to confuse soloers with "casuals" that don't know how to play.
  14. To be honest, I don't see why those guilds are any worse than most guilds/players in this game. Including myself.
  15. I still don't undertand why don't you find it more fun 1 on 1. Why 4 vs 1? You guys kept killing me while I was waiting for my 1500 ms lag to get fixed (I know I provoked as well, I was bored). I don't care, but it doesn't make me love you either.
