  1. Lack of decos is not a major problem. Game design is. Bio used approach of “ready-to-go solution” (I can hear you scrolling down to the next post because of that "game design expert line", but hear me out for a sec ) for many elements of the game and it gives the feeling that every item (aside from gear loot) of the game is like a «premium item» or «piece-of-meat» or even “half-measure”. And it limits the customization in a way that the only way to customize your stuff - «buy another variant of this stuff». Generic mounts? No, only a limited set of variations for each type. Own stronghold with room construction (like Dodjo in Warframe as an example)? No, set of rooms with predefined structure. Decos? You cannot put them on each other and they already go with some minor things on top of them. Example: basic table with bottles and food bags. Instead of giving us an instrument to put these little things on top of already placed decos, they decided to put them for themselves based on their vision and then give to us. I am not complaining, it is just a fact. We simply cannot customize the SH as our own, we can only use already assembled pieces and combine them on a very basic level. We cannot decorate our walls- it is already decorated with textures and we can only put items on it. We cannot put anything anywhere - only on predefined hooks. We cannot name our SH as a «Pretty swag place for Imperialz», we can use only preset titles that do not correspond with the reality because we cannot make an «Imperial Sanctuary» on DK and make sense with basic chairs and piece-of-meat imperial beds and without tons of various imperial officers, officials, citizens, droids, medics and so on. This is how their initial design works. And it hurts on some degree. I lied, it hurts a lot. It specially hurts when SH itself does not have a usable structure, room layout and - more importantly - any relation to actual theme of the SH (for example DK is more like an agent’s apartment rather than sith’s powerhold) to remotely correspond with the title of the place and mindset of RP-players that feeds from the game itself and context of specific gameplay or story situation. Why for example we would ever want a moving train on Umbara as our powerbase? It sounds cool and fresh, but just why? How does it relate to our hero in the first place? Why we can get an explanation how we get our ship through story, but we cannot get even a hint on what actual basis we can get a huge mansion on Manaan? How did it happen that my 10 lvl noname sith warrior gets a place like this? So many questions can be asked, but I see no point to really address them to Bio. Why? Because the world of the game itself lacks meaningful and common props and it's by design from the beginning. It clearly can be seen through these qestions: You want me to believe that the trainer on the fleet would need a table, but not the chair? You want me to be blind, when I see a trader in a distant corner of the fleet which makes no sense, but he is there because we don’t have a proper place for an additional merchant stand in one of the sections? You want me to believe that a couple of terminals are the only things that needed for my agent’s mentor for like several years? This is an imitation and not a believable world. This is a world without some logic that works outside class stories. This is a museum with “functionality for players over common sense” in mind. Jeez, we don't even have a proper food or a booze to eat and drink (not even animation to do it) or make a proper party (if it is not the one with stims ) It is basically why I feel SHs as half-finished with underestimated and unused potential for improvement. And increased drop rate will solve only a part of the problem. These decos will still be a someone else’s work of creation without any grade of customization for players. Back on topic. Speaking about hooks, these are the thing that feels like a trade-off situation happened during development. For example we can move an object within a certain radius from the hook. We can customize the layout of the hooks. There are several questions I can ask: What about moving hooks themselves within some radius from their initial point? Why cannot we move for example green hooks freely within layout of larger hook? Why decos can’t have their own predefined mini-hooks for bottles, table lamps, mugs and other stuff, which make place more believable, convincing in terms of infrastructure, more personal and less “borrowed” from somewhere? Aside from obvious reasons. As for a solution in current situation I can suggest these ones: We need more generic stuff? Yes, and the reason is to reduce the feel of “this exact chair is pretty popular type for Imperial bases, why is it a premium item if it a common object of the world and universe? I am a powerful sith lord with a bunch of followers and I can’t easily get that chair because... reasons?”. All SH customization is about placing the objects. What about lighting color change? What about wall paint and texture? Sato’s decos were not updated since SOR. We’ve got plenty of generic Yavin rubbles and flora, which was a step in a right direction, but nothing since then. Making guardsmen and crates purchasable for credits is a good move as well since this s a very common items in the game's world. The only real gameplay impact of SHs is a conquest bonus, which somehow leads to getting more chance to win for your guild and get some rewards in case of success. Quite stretching in my opinion. If SHs are called powerbases, then give us a meaningful tools for using this base as actual power hold. Give a purpose for non-functional decos, like “more tables and crates lead to faster crafting”. Or character buffs. Or something aside from placing mailboxes. We need a generic stuff, but not only faction-based. Common world objects without any theme or relation to anybody. We need something personal - like armor stands. We can put some fancy gear on our companion and place him/her in SH for the same purpose. Why not make it right? Training dummies - I believe it is a more "priority problem" rather than a technical restriction. Actual trainers for our classes? Crew skill trainer holocom? The thing is it could make fleet less needed and less populated, but I believe everybody is tired of overcrowded fleet. Personnel (and companions) also has a predefined state. Why not give us a tools to actually set an animation and pose for them from a list? There is a plenty of opportunities to make money on. They actually did already by selling utility and tools directly with some themed packs, so why stop and not pursue the actual improvement? Why not go further and deeper and make it make sense and feel just right? I would gladly pay for it if provided.
  2. Well, there are mine. Big one first: War Table (like Inquisition in DAI or APEX missions in MEA). With each expansion the importance and power of our heroes are increasing so the game need to correspond that growth aside from standard ops, cutscenes, companions and - more importantly - crew skills (because CS is used in context of crafting). Basically - expanding the idea of crew skill missions. Example: Based on class, story progress and level, we can select a planet and initiate a time-based mission (kill a rival sith lord, gather intel, build a new communication tower) with certain bonuses as a reward. • We can hire and train more agents, apprentices or padawans to perform certain set of missions. • Some missions could be legacy wide and will require our toons' teams to complete. • Faction-based and cross-faction missions as well. • Possibly a conquest map like For Honor. • Expanding agent network via bonus-series of the planet. This can help us to actually see the influence we poses outside the story. For example, I am a powerful Darth Oculus, but all the Darth part and all these admirals, devastating weapons and entire Spheres of Dark Council are only existing in the dialogs and story. And in order to feel connected to this system, it needs to be real in the world and somewhere only we can have access to and feel personal about it - SH decos and personell / our ship - anywhere but not only on our UI. And now a minor ones: • Decos are still premium items in terms of their prices, random property and given amount instead of actual props and that makes the whole decoration thing like an imitation or simulation. Game has a lot of props using throughout the stories, give us more standard and essential props to manipulate without locking it behind RNG and paywall. Or at least try to control deco market. • Restrict to sell basic vendor decos on GTN, there is ton of this pointless stuff in there. Add more basic decos like you did with Yavin 4 when SOR arrived. • CM pricing does not allow us to buy something really meaningful for less than 300 CC. Low-cost packs, items and bundles for 50-150 CC would be nice. • GSF PVE. • Make arcade-ish space missions great again. New 60-70 level missions, fleet commendation rewards expansion. • Powerbase expansion. Crew skill terminals, trainers, galactic command terminal, ... in SH, capital planets and fleet. Duplicate (not replace) UI options with something existing in the world to make it less static and more interactive. • Day and night cycle on planets. • Pod racing and speeder customization. • x64 client, which is like Half Life 3 now. • Ground vehicle battles, possibly in open world. Even WOW has some of this. Or mounts with set of attacking abilities. • Additional map filters. • Multiple spawn points or instances on fleet. • Taxi and QT only work on certain points, so renting a speeder for 1-2 hours of the game to get where you need to go faster on our own would be nice, but now pointless since everyone has a mount on level 10. • Safe passage through location. Hiring a group of mercenaries or commandeering a squad of troops, so no mob will attack you for some time. Or add temporal credit paid buff. Would be nice with this level sync mechanic, which is still annoying on high levels. Expanding the idea - buying a pass or making a reputation with location controlled faction in order to get them at least yellow if not green. Bribing guards of Empire or Republic in order to get pass through their checkpoint. Agent/smuggler only. Force persuade for jedi/sith. • Map services. Buy a digital map of the planet. Binoculars to find a specific place and discover it on the map. • Satellite surveillance. Adding enemies on the minimap, own map markers - just back for it to intelligence service. • Pet hunt. If you want an animal companion or a pet - try to find an catch one first. Tranquilizers, collars and Force is used for it, like one of the dailies on Rishi. • It is kinda out of the place that we have tons of communicators and holocoms, but still using separate terminals to send an email. So the idea is to remove field droids and terminals put the functionality in pure UI. There is no pigeon mail anyway. • Extend your inventory via speeder or ship upgrades (additional cargo spaces and stuff). Buying additional crates and storages for SH.
  3. It is not about getting upset about pixels. SH is the equally valid part of the game like operations, outfits, mounts and other mechanics and it is quite big part of the roleplay sense, which the game should inspire and support by its design in the first place. We "lost" our toons in Zakuul story, we get stuck on our mains thanks to the Command Rank system and now we've got laziest homebase ever after 2 years of waiting for a new content of such kind. There is a poor feedback acknowledgement in this case, especially when we have Yavin 4 SH.
  4. Saddest part of it - rework probably will never happen due to real money pricing.
  5. Pros: Manaan art style Cons: Four totally unusable rooms that suffer from gigantism and emptyness due to lack of any effort put into the layout and flexebility - no functional, artistic or simply authentic potential to create something usable and interesting without any "functionality over common sense and planing" trade-offs Zero music and sounds Pointless and enourmously big entrance square like it is some kind of important NPC's palace and not cozy Manaan administrator's homebase Bio are not even hiding the fact that the only one reliable scenario applicable for this SH is a simple deco museum without any roleplay sense and personal space Extremely lazy design comparing to Yavin 4 SH No submarine default props This SH has the same purpose as the planet itself - just a big nothing. very disappointed with its implementation. Still waiting for possible Korriban and Tython compact but cozy and diverse strongholds. Or at least some distant and classy space station.
  6. I still don't get it why this system have to be in the game in the first place. It is more like changes for the sake of changes without any strong justification from Bio rather than real analysis. People were coming and playing the game, accepting its rules and systems for a 5 goshdarn years. Commendations system was a turn off? Really? It took 5 years to "realise" that and place it as a reason behind this monstrosity of gearing? I really wish they stop to make radical decision about the game as they did for the last 2 years, because it is more like trying make a snowman out of dirt.
  7. Rishi SH - meh, I am tired of this junky-scrapy places like Tatooine or Yavin. I want something really sci-fi and luxury like Manaan or at least some royal and clean like Alderaan. And I will gladly take Korriban or Tython SH for my force-sensetive toons. BTW I will be very happy if they added day&night versions of strongholds.
  8. You are not belong here. But yea, x64 client is my wet dream too.
  9. The problem of lacking of world detail, infrastructure and NPC activity is the bane of all Bioware games. Because it is their approach to game design - make every thing about player and his hero progression, not to simulate real living world and put hero in it , it is about putting world around the players. Thats why locations have the only one way to go (in other world - linear), there is no diversity of directions like Wow or other openworld or MMO games. Just look at Fleet - there is no empty spaces that represent world, only game functionality, in every room you will see vendor or some terminal, but no backgroud activity. They do not even have chairs for some NPCs working on computers or hutches. Lack of infrastructure (like barracks for soldiers on the bases or some) is what you should know about level design in this game. Just look at the Korriban - there is no blank doors in the sith academy which could make you feel that there is more than you can see in the world - only some story-needed rooms with phases and vendors. It is strange to see that there is only main hall, library, 3 rooms for Dark Lords (Zash, Barras and that IA story crazy woman), cantina and Dark Council chamber. Look at the DK - they use only the space players could use for their needs - market, story phased docking bays, useless Citadel with the same problem as Korriban Academy, and cantina. No easter-egg-places, streeets and stuff. There is no empty room when you can make as your meditation room or some - there is always game mechanics and no world activity. That's a huge impact for RP. Yea, we have SH, but it has some serious problems with putting on decos (bad hooks placement and strange set of decos - they make me feel like it is ripped from the already poorly decorated world and given to me like something special).
  10. What bothers me about this sync - it is sometimes ridiculously high aggro range mobs have even on, so sometimes hunting datacrons for example is the pain in the bottom. Devs could make player less powerfull, but Bio could lower aggro range. And there is still some places, when you synced with the planet max level but some quests are still irrelevant (+7 exp and couple of creds) for you.
  11. Its me again. Got 5 packs on my old legacy for lvling my new Sorc. And here we go again: Major Social Boost x1 (yep, again) Major Space Boost x1 (yep, again)[2] Advanced Imperial Crimson Crystal (with +41 Endurance) x1 Kel Dor Master Jedi deco x1 (already have them, but I am playing as Imperial moslty, so no use to me) Rare gifts x3 GT-23 Plasma Assault Canon x2 (TWO!!11 and I have no Commando character) Intricate Corellian Speeder Model x1 (it looks like it is made with poo and some metal) Now it is getting worse or I got extremely unlucky.
  12. Last time I check decorations section on GTN - people continue to sell a huge amount of basic decorations (the ones you can buy from vendors for a far smaller amount of money) on GTN with 200%-300%-MOAR% overpriced. You can't find any non-basic deco lower than 50 000-70 000 credits, so no reason even push SEARCH button if you have less than that. And even if you have much more - you still can see basics on the pages. And here we are - talking about inflation, heroics, treasure hunting and stuff, while ppl still sell Y4 floras for poopload amount of creds because it was not included in SoR patchnotes so they think other people do not that they can buy this stuff from NPC. At least it was like that in the beginning of SoR, but now... I don't know what motivates people make offers of this kind or even buy these items on GTN these days. PS: sorry for "shaggy" English skills
  13. Try to read again. I said that I went to my OLD legacy to decorate. These decos from packs are boring, BoP and they are not shared between legacies. I have no use of them on my new legacy, because I do not plan decorate strongholds from a scratch. I have started a new legacy before event description even announced, so I thought it would be a good reason to lvl after event details revealed. But now after these packs I kinda lost motivation to lvl new toons and got back to my old main char. Especially it hit me when I got gosh darn lightsaber for my smuggler.
  14. I finally decided to participate in this event and after I gained 25 lvl on my Scoundrel in my new legacy I got these pieces in 5 event packs: Major Exploration Experience Boost x1 (wat?) Major Social Boost x1 (wat again?) Rare companion gifts x3 (oh this is rich) Deco: Yavin Floor Lamp x1 (nowhere to place) Deco: Imperial Dignitary’s Rug x1 (nowhere to place) Deco: Oriconian Standing Torch x1 (nowhere to place) Ceremonial Armor pack (supplementary) x1 (I tried to sell it on GTN for ages 1 year ago and now I got this one again) Unrelenting Aggressor Lightsaber for Collections (I got tons of these lightsabers already...) x1 Not worth to even do 25 lvl. Went back to my old legendary legacy to farm heroics and decorate my Y4 fortress.
  15. BTW they added new perks that reduce time spending on the giving gifts to companion, so they reduce the time before people start farm credits on treasure boxes and by other crew skills. So...
