  1. I had high hopes when I saw the thread's title, until I came to the absurd generalisation that any "non-roleplaying" name, itself a contentious and highly subjective value, made one out to be a dribbling twelve year-old.
  2. The ones barking on about being badly done to are usually the ones who treat roleplay as some sort of social powerplay, in which sitting in a cantina with the "best looking" gear one can possibly obtain, or having the "best decorated" house one can possibly afford, earns you the right to troll the roleplaying community channel with more adolescent sexualised flirt/**** jokes that just smack of nerdy virginity. The ones barking on about being badly done to are usually the ones who pass the buck when it comes to addressing the problem surrounding accessibility and fulfillment in roleplay. It's always the fault of the OOCer, whose mere exists offends them, or the fault of the game, which doesn't treat them as gods. Never is it their own fault for isolating fresh faces if they are not amused by the channel cliques' bad taste in humour. Never is it their own fault for making no effort to actually engage with the setting, instead devoting all their time to social events like gatherings in the cantina, or markets and parties which merely stagnate and further divide budding communities. Never is it their own fault for refusing to take responsibility for helping the wider roleplaying population, instead lazily waving off new blood into joining one already bloated and dull guild, or sending them away if they don't buy into the repetative "luls" of the cantina crew. It's not about the mechanics of the game, it never has been. At best it's fluff. But if you are so determined to make the argument that without fluff, you cannot roleplay, then you are the problem.
  3. Except that Anakin easily defeated Drallig and a padawan with one hand, while choking another padawan with the other. He was a competant teacher, but he wouldn't make my list when there are others like Caedus out there, and most certainly wouldn't rank above Yoda (his own tutor) or Vader.
  4. To facilitate the development of cliques and the segregation of the roleplaying community, usually. Try to get involved in the discussions, stand up to ignorance and bullying, and make some friends if you want to help make them a better place. Infantile in-jokes and sexual innuendo only put people off.
  5. Trask Ulgo to the letter, thanks to a select bunch of numpties.
  6. To start a guild of your own, head to Coruscant's Senate District where you will find the registrar underneath the plaza. But you can always ask a member of another guild what their recruitment requirements are. I'm sure they'd be happy to help you.
  7. You're welcome to try - goodness knows others have. A pity Traskers have the maturity not to feed the trolls, eh? I wish I could empathise with your down-trodden self, but that's just not the reality.
  8. They can't come quick enough, I think. The inability to distinguish between the distance of those participating in chat is incredibly awkward at the moment.
  9. What does an out-of-character General chat have to do with roleplay? Are our holy roleplayer eyes so offended by this unrelated channel (Which we can turn off), and the silly names on it, that we simply cannot roleplay? The horror! That's their fault for not roleplaying there. I, myself, fully intend to make good use of Tython and Ord Mantell in the hopes of grabbing the interest of potential converts.
  10. There is your problem. Bioware did not intend roleplaying servers to be some form of "Promised Land" for your personal interpretation of what constitutes proper roleplay. Why did you expect them to? The rules as they stand are fair and rational decisions on Bioware's part.
  11. A part of the internet in general, truth be told.
  12. I don't support this as much as I should, mainly because I like to be a little more spontaneous with these things. If someone is questing out in the world, I'd give them a hand and a "May the Force be with you." Who knows whether or not that person was a roleplayer, or whether or not that person may want to roleplay. But it certainly gives them the opportunity. If there were a system in place that actively identified roleplayers, or those who wanted to engage in roleplay at that time, no doubt I'd subconsciously gravitate towards those players than I would that quester without the flag. I don't know. I do support a roleplaying flag, but I'm hesitant at the same time.
  13. This is nothing compared to the General Discussion forum. Christ, I've never seen such degenerate sludge.
