  1. i think you're missing the point a bit here. There is a BIG difference between chars with maxed out crew skills that are lvl 55 and those that are not. That a yellow mission fails, i can cope, but that its related to adventure lvl....that's another thing lvl 55 : mission failure 1 out 10-15 missions, easy manageable, no complaints there not lvl 55 : mission failure consistently 1 in 5, and im not exagerrating in the slightest
  2. I might be imagining it, i asked my guildies and they dont have the same problem....but ALL of my non lvl 55 characters, with crewskills now have a CONSISTENT 1 in 5 mission failure 6 chars with crew skillls in total, 1 lvl 55 (biochem-bioanalysis-diplomacy), mission failure 1/10-15 3 lvl 50 and 2 lvl 23 ALL fail missions 1 in 5 times, and this since launch of RotHC. All companions of mentioned above crafters are maxed out, so that cant be the problem and before 2.0 i rarely failed a mission. Even when their crew skill or companion affection wasnt maxed out, the failures were never as often as now, even when advanced crew skill is maxed out as well. Am i the only one experiencing this?
  3. Same here, was planning to post something myself, but im kinda glad to see its not in my head. It already didnt make sense to me, since u can only have one crafting skill at the time. But good to know its just another of the many many many many many (BIOWARE I HOPE UR NOTICING MY SUBTLETY HERE) bugs. Stop putting new stuff on cartel market and FIX this now !!
  4. First of all, can someone explain why we have two abilities that can only be used on incapacitated targets, AND share the same cooldown? Is there a tactic, a reasoning behind this? And if not, which do u slot? Tbh, i havent even bought headshot, cos it costs a staggering 50k, and the minimum damage is lower then cheapshot, while the max dmg isnt really impressively higher.
  5. why not make blue augments 22? can easily sell those for 10k, which will make the used SDM into a profit?
  6. Diplomacy still has rich and bountiful missions. Check your facts before spouting nonsense. If slicing has no higher than abundant missions, like scavenging grade 6 has and underworld trading, it is because its decided so by bioware/EA, supposedly not to unhinge the economy by making everything "easily" accessible. This is the reason why diplomacy still has rich missions...cos the rare is worthless or can only be used for oneself, as a biochemist
  7. it all depends on ur affection with the companion u just sent on mission. I have two slicers, both at 400,and most of my companions are at max affection. Just to clarify : yes its lockbox missions that bring home mission discoveries, and my rate is pretty good, so far, i bring home a mission discovery every 10-20 missions. The recipes are brought home from sliced tech parts, so far i havent seen those two mix up : lockbox is mission discovery and mission discovery ONLY, and sliced tech part are recipes and recipe's only Edit : oops, totally disregarded the op's question : i agree with some comments made here, just go for slicing, underworld trading and scavenging or treasure hunting, stick to missions of tier 3,4 and 5 and sell all that with profit
  8. also, take into account the price of raw materials on the GTN. If i go gather my mats myself and i need 2 desh, 2 silica and 2 terenthium for one item and those mats sell for 2-3000 creds on the market (doesnt happen for low lvl stuff, but it sure does for tier 3 and higher) or more, why bother making stuff out of it if u can only sell it for maybe 1000 creds more? purple mods is even worse, most of the time u'd need to sell ur crafted gear/mods for at least 50k, just to get even with the price of mats u just used. So, as long as the discrepancy between gathering the mats and selling those with profit and using mats to actually craft something and sell that at an equal profit isnt adressed, nothing can change. which brings up the op's point and title....there is indeed no reason to craft, other then for ur own characters

    Corusca Gems

you could also max out affection with ship droid, buy a repair droid aboard ur ship (NOT the field repair droid) from legacy, once aboard ur ship click that repair droid, it sells purple sensor units for ship droid, with various crew skill bonusses. I believe treasure hunting is a bonus in critical too. edit : bah, didnt read till the last page, someone posted this remark before me, sry
  10. i dunno how things work on ur server, but on our server, u cant get things sold at crafting price x2, that would mean that lvl 30 ish gear (mods, enhancements, or just plain gear/weapons) would cost around 50k just to cover the costs (costs in this case are calculated by looking up the prices of the mats on GTN...and since most of the tier 3/4 purple mats go for 10-15k a piece...good luck selling anything with a profit higher then selling off the mats)
  11. in the meantime all the blue to purple schematics have changed to 10%, i have seen it on my biohcemist, synthweaver, cybertech and amormech so far. They didnt see fit to mention any of these changes in the patch notes tho. Thank you very much for this phantom nerf
  12. that is bad, bad, bad news.....so, far, i have passed try nr 30 to get an artifect schematic out of a prototype shield,.....the difference between 10% chance and 20% is very big. For armoring and mods....not that i like it,....but i could more or less understand it, cos, once u get to artifact, you're done...you have what u want...need. But for wieldable or non moddable armor, there are three to five different outcomes to each prototype.....10% chance is disastrous
  13. why do only a few crew skills, and even only a few items within crew skills have a 10% chance to reverse engineer from blue to purple? my artificer his wieldable all have that, while the color crystals, nor hilts have the same condition? and why only a certain skill, while others not at all? and....is this new or did i just never notice it before (only playing 2 months now)
