  1. Signed, and I'll also say along with cross server queues, make better level tiers so people are matched more evenly in brackets. Ability disparity is a huge issue, no matter what level you're bolstered to.
  2. Alright, the event info is out. It looks to be that this is set in stone, and a whole lot of long time players are not happy. I'm fairly positive Bioware will not change any of the requirements, so let's focus on some things they can do...I propose the following: 1. Roll back server transfers to 90 coins or make them free for the duration of the event - A lot of players will have to move toons around to make space if they decide to participate, so make it as painless as possible. 2. Immediate 40-50% off sale on all current cartel packs, supercrates, and hypercrates for 2 weeks - There's a lot of people who will choose not to participate, so at the very least you owe it to them as such to make getting some cartel swag accessible if they're not going to get any of the event rewards. 3. Tune World Bosses down so a minimum 4 person group can get through them - Trying to find people to do world bosses is like pulling teeth at times, so make them a tad easier so smaller groups can clear them. 4. Temporarily allow F2P players access to unlimited warzones and ops - If you're going to have the Operations, WZ's, and GSF requirements, make sure all players can get into them. 5. 2500 Cartel Coin grant upon event completion - In exchange for our time and grinding, the least you can do is reimburse us with thanks. Nothing says thank you like cartel coins in recognition of our support. There's just a few things you can do to soften the blow and bridge an ugly division with your players right now, Bioware. The ball is in your court. If you're not going to count all the current characters running around, or take into consideration the lengths that a lot of your veteran players have gone to continually supporting the game from launch until now, the least you can do is consider this list as an alternative. One thing is clear: nothing remotely short of this will temper the unrest that is out there right now. I hope you guys have the foresight to do something about it. ~ Supreme
  3. Ok, I've played the game a long time. Sometimes I have taken extended breaks, but I've always returned. In all the years from launch until now, I've had a few gripes but I've rolled with it and supported the devs and the game. That being said, I'd really like to voice my displeasure with the ridiculous requirements for this event. You seriously expect people to abandon their legacies they have and start a new legacy? Also, you really expect people to play through 8 new toons? C'mon. If you want to have a Summer event, then create one that meets the players halfway, not asks them to abandon their established characters and legacies that they've earned with countless hours, just to start over new. I really think you guys need to refine your requirements for this and do it in a fair manner. As you can plainly see already by many of the other posts, this event is not going to be received well at all. Please rethink the requirements and also, please find a way to incorporate legacies for those with an already level 50 legacy. Regards, Supreme Heretic
  4. Fal, I like this theory. There was a lot gleaned from their mind connection, I'm sure. I still maintain she has natural Battle Meditation skill like Bastila, and I'm still holding out for double sabery goodness once she builds her own weapon. I can hope! Lol
  5. yep, tried that multiple times but it wouldn't change it...oh well.
  6. Thanks DD for the heads up. I tried to edit the title, not sure it worked.
  7. Yeah, EA also has a similar agreement in their sports games with the NFL license, so every year Madden is the only football game released. I'm sort of in the minority, as by and large, I'm ok with EA, but I do hate the monopoly they seem to have on certain licenses.
  8. I am in the group of folks that believe Rey is Luke's daughter. If indeed Luke was standing at a grave, guessing we're going to meet Mara Jade posthumously.
  9. I'll say this, and trust me, I will stay on SWTOR until the bitter end, but if they come up with an open world type Star Wars MMO with planets as gorgeous as the visuals on the current Battlefront, I would insta-subscribe to it for that kind of intricate detail and Star Wars feel. Interestingly enough, this now makes SWTOR's lack of anything acknowledging TFA opening weekend even more of a headscratcher.
  10. Seems to me that Kylo was using Force Stasis, very popular in KOTOR.
  11. Ok, I've had some time to process the new movie, given I've seen it twice in the last 2 days. I wanted to discuss Rey's Force abilities, starting with what I believe is her main one: Battle meditation. When Kylo was blade locked with her, and mentioned his offer to train in the Force, Rey realized she could call on the Force more directly, and she seemed to go into a meditative calm, which in turn, all of a sudden gave her a boost in combat and literally turned the tide of the fight. That to me seems like a manifestation of battle meditation. It seems as if right now her skill is limited to her personal engagements, but once she trains further will she be able to control battles on a larger scale like Bastila? Also, another fun similarity to Bastila and Satele both...given her affinity to staff based melee fighting, I truly believe once we see Rey complete her training by making her own lightsaber, she'll be the first Force user on the big screen in a while to use a double bladed lightsaber. Back on topic though: are there any other Force abilities outside of the normal Jedi powers such as push, mind trick, etc. that anyone believes Rey will have? Or is it just mainly battle meditation? Discuss away
  12. @IcyKill: This is pretty ridiculous. I'm on the Harbinger and when I'm in game, I am bouncing immediately from 112ms to 600 or more, and then it's right to red dot and I lag out. I'm the GM of a guild that enjoys quite a bit of PvP and PvE both, and myself and a number of my members are all experiencing issues. Unfortunately, with me being an East coast player, the natural delay in distance from the server plus this, equals an unplayable experience. Please Bioware, get to the bottom of this soon!
  13. There's a couple major ways they can improve this: First, make mid tier 30-54 again. Next, pull the expertise out of all the old PvP gear, and make a 55-59 bracket. Good way of solving the issues and making things at least playable until they bolster and class balance fully ironed out.
  14. I'm genuinely excited to see what 2015 has in store for SWTOR, but Bioware, let's include some common sense changes to the PvP experience before people hit level 60. A lot of people used to enjoy the low and middle tier warzones, now, they've become almost an exercise in frustration. The 10-29 bracket is fairly decent, although one could argue that maybe starting PvP at level 15 would make it better. However, the real problem is the 30-59 bracket, where the bolster issue, ability disparity, and gear issues pose a real problem, especially to a player in the 30-40 range. Take for instance my guild, we have about 18 players who regularly PvP, and level through primarily doing warzones. When we have my entire PvP crew and myself deciding we have to skip a bracket until we hit 55 or bypass it until we hit 60, there is a fundamental issue with that bracket and the PvP system. Players should be able to have a reasonable expectation upon entering a warzone that skill will determine the match, not the fact that we're going to run into a team of level 55 plus players who are running around with full PvP set bonuses, a plethora of abilities more than we have, and ridiculously scaled HP compared to our own. If I'm a geared level 36 with all my slots full and 2018 expertise, there's absolutely no reason I shouldn't be able to compete fairly well with a sub 60 player if bolster was working correctly. So basically, all I'm asking is for Pete's sake, please take a look at the PvP experience. It was enjoyable before, you can make it enjoyable again by simply fixing the bolster and bracket issue. Either way, myself and my guild thank you for the hard work and we all look forward to what's coming down the road. Regards, Supreme Heretic , GM of <Republic PSA>
  15. I'm holding out hope they just go ahead and redo the website entirely. They need a real website with a community hub, guild area, a place to actually write a bio for one's character, and also some guides and content that inform and entertain the reader and prospective player. Perhaps soon, they'll get in gear and make it so. Let's hope!
