  1. Maybe the character's been sitting at 60 for a while, but the player left the game and just came back, and the tutorial would help them learn their class again. Or maybe it's a little played alt of a class they need to relearn how to play at max level. Or they've respecced from tank/healer to DPS, or vice versa, and the tutorial is a good way to learn their new spec. There's all kinds of reasons someone might not be a new player, but still might want to go through the tutorial. Next time read instead of blindly clicking and you won't have an issue, entirely your fault.
  2. Bumping this as I've run into this issue as well leveling my shadow tank and it is incredibly annoying. I would also like to add that after some testing, I've found the issue seems to only crop up if you go "over" 3 stacks of Harnessed Shadows. Technically that's not possible of course, but if I use Telekinetic throw once I reach 3 stacks, it doesn't matter how long I wait, it will always give me stacks of Shadow Protection. If however, I use Project again while I have 3 stacks of Harnessed Shadows, it will refresh the 3 stacks, but using TK will NOT trigger any stacks of Shadow Protection. The buff won't stack higher than 3, but it seems like whatever counter is used to track your stacks is not maxing out at 3, because SP won't proc unless you use it after exactly 3 uses of Project.
  3. I dunno about that, I leveled my first toon back when the game first came out, starting during early access. I also wanted to experience all the story, did pretty much every quest I could find on every planet, heroics included, and sometimes the bonus series. Until Voss, I was always 3-4 levels above the content I was doing. Was only two levels above where I should have been on Voss, but towards the end decided I wanted to finish my class story, so I was only 49 when I went to Corellia (though I hit 50 only a couple quests after arriving). The next 50 I leveled the same way, but without skipping any Voss quests and was 50 well before I ever set foot on Corellia. Nowadays if you were to level how I did, even with no double XP, I'm sure your quests would grey out very quickly, especially if you were throwing in a flashpoint or two every day. To the OP, I would agree with the previous posters: if it's truly experiencing the story that matters to you, then experience the story. Playing the way you described, you will run into grey quests no matter what, but yes doing them during double xp week will of course make that happen much faster.
  4. Separating them into tiers rather than specific ranks. Tier 1: Imperial Agent and Jedi Knight: Agent a bit better overall from start to finish, but jedi knight chapter 3 and the ending was epic enough to push them into a virtual tie. Both also very much have the feel I'd expect for their archetypes, and what I felt were solid companions. The choices also seemed meaningful, especially for the agent. Tier 2: Smuggler. Another story with a great feel to it, very true to the archetype. Not as riveting as the two above, but very fun, interesting companions, and especially strong antagonists: feels very good to off your enemies, and you feel very free to do basically whatever you want. Tier 3: Bounty Hunter, Sith Warrior, Trooper. Solid stories overall, with a very authentic feel, like the ones above, but stories aren't as riveting. Trooper is kind of generic, SW and BH are less so, but in my opinion, the inability to choose which companions you want (or don't want) is the most glaring for them. Definitely breaks immersion. Good, but not great. Tier 4: Consular. The story usually feels true to the archetype, which unfortunately makes it rather dull at times, but also really only feels like it makes sense with one AC: The sage. As a shadow, I always felt kind of... out of place. Companions are decent but not great, story doesn't really heat up until the second chapter. Tier 5: Inquisitor. May have been a decent story if it were standalone, but for an archetype supposedly based off of Palpatine, just awful. Wanted to throw every companion save one right out the airlock, generic plot, basically sith warrior lite, anything SI story does, SW does, but better.
  5. This, this, a million times this. And add Ashara, Gault, and Skadge to my list. Qyzen too when I'm in a bad mood.
  6. Ooh, yeah, forgot about him, he's such a tool.
  7. Add me to the list too. I'd prefer a companion I didn't have to go rescue every time they got captured while on a crew mission. As for me, I would definitely take Jaxo instead of Yuun on my Trooper, just about anyone instead of Gault or Skadge on my BH, Tala-reh instead of Rusk for JK, that eshkha guy instead of Qyzen on JC... I don't know who I'd take for my inquisitor or agent, maybe that jedi chick from Taris for the agent but really I would prefer almost anyone to Ashara and Kaliyo. Don't like either one.
  8. Yeah I admit that was probably pretty over the top, but usually I'm actually pretty laid back, there's only a couple things in gaming that really set me off. One being when I'm built up to loathe someone, and then forced to buddy up with them, the other being a seriously seriously overtuned fight. If I had been doing an operation or a new HM flashpoint I wouldn't have been at all upset cause I just accept wipes as part of the process, for a solo instance though, that was a ridiculous fight. But hey, at least I (usually) know when to walk away! (or if I don't, someone usually has the good sense to drag me away instead). Oh! And Skavak for sure was someone I hated, they did a good job of making him an antagonist.
  9. Tyresius from the Bounty Hunter storyline. I actually logged off in disgust and unsubbed, which was probably not a healthy response, but eventually my girlfriend got me to resub so we could play together and I just pretended that he didn't exist. But for a good month and a half even after I came back, I wouldn't even touch my bounty hunter. Aside from that, I would say Jun Seros, and also
  10. It doesn't happen every single time I zone in, but before it was limited to just switching instances on the same planet. Now however, I've encountered it doing all those things; heading from Section X to my ship on my sage, from the fleet to the Black Hole on my sniper, using priority transport to my ship, also on my sniper, from my ship to the fleet on my merc, and using my emergency fleet pass on my vanguard. It appears to have a chance at happening whenever you hit a load screen.
  11. This is indeed an incredibly annoying bug, and it has gotten worse since the most recent patch. It's not just on instance changing anymore, I've gotten it as the person above me said, from zoning into a flashpoint from group finder, but also from taking the transport from the fleet to Black Hole and Section X, zoning into the fleet from my ship, and using my priority transports. I had already simply stopped grouping up for any planet heroics because this bug was such a pain in the ***, if it's going to randomly affect me anytime I load a zone, I'm just going to stop playing, this is ridiculous.
  12. If you never got it til 1.7 you were incredibly lucky, sadly the bug has been around since before the game even launched. Two pretty massive threads here, glad people are still bumping this issue but I wouldn't get your hopes up. Ability Delay -- Character Responsiveness (This will make or break SW:TOR) [VIDEO] Ability Failure to Fire Bug
  13. 1: Ability delay 2: Ability delay 3: The ability to kill companions I don't like (just kidding, Ability delay)
  14. I don't know about Doc, but the dark side flirt options in Kira's romance are completely optional, you can ignore them and only take flirts with no DS points. I completed her entire romance chain without a single dark side point, you only get DS points with the knight if you choose to take those options. However, I do find it odd that the consular doesn't even get any DS options considering It seems like the latter would be the darker of the two options. Can't comment on Iresso or Doc romances, I've only played the male consular and knight.
  15. The bug has always been far worse on melee characters than ranged, it's possible that part of it is due to increased user activity, but most likely it's just because you went from ranged to melee
