  1. Perhaps if it were optional... For example, you could either choose to pay the $15 monthly fee for unlimited access, or buy a time card with like 50 hours or something for like $25.
  2. With a crit chance of 20% I assume you were expecting, out of the 21 you crafted, to get 4 or 5 augmented earpieces, which is a perfectly reasonable assumption... But keep in mind that there is a critical chance of 20% per item you craft. This doesn't mean that if you craft 5, you're guaranteed the 5th will crit, what it means is that every item you craft has a 1 in 5 chance of critting. Crafting 20 and only critting one is not unlikely for a 1 in 5 chance. Think of it as flipping a coin. There is a 50% chance of it landing on heads, and an equal chance of it landing on tails. In theory we would assume that if you flipped it 20 times, 10 of those will be heads, and 10 tails. However in practice you may flip 19 heads, and only one tails. Just because the odds are in your favour, does not make it a sure thing. Your sample size is too small to come to an accurate conclusion about the critical chance. You'll need to craft at least 1000 or more to get some reasonable statistics.
  3. If I stack presence gear on my companion, will he/she benefit from it? Or does the presence need to be on me for it to work?
  4. What I would like to see is hard mode versions of heroics. This would give us a reason to return to planets, along with more daily's to extend end game content. It would have to be instanced to prevent ganking. Please discuss.
  5. Here are some tips to help you get some early money. Crew Skills: Slicing - This is the number one way to make easy money. Don't waste any on sending your companions on missions, unless you need to grind out a few levels. Instead, just pick up the lock-boxes you find around the world. It is essentially free money. Any 2 other gathering skills (e.g. Archeology, Scavenging or Bioanalysis) - Collect the mats from around the world (again, avoid the crew missions unless you have to) and sell everything you collect on the GTN. I recommend Scavenging and Bioanalysis as strong droids and beasts can be scanned for materials. Don't buy any gear, use your planet commendations to gear yourself up, and mission rewards to gear your companion. Focus on gearing only one companion, the one you use the most. Play the GTN. Post your items for the average price, not the lowest, unless you want the credits ASAP. Be patient. Not everything will sell right away, but as long as you offer it for a fair price, and it is in demand (crafting materials usually are) people will buy it. Keep an eye out for items that are under-priced and buy them up to re-list them. Do as many quests as possible, especially heroics. Heroics are repeatable once a day, so are easily farmed. Any green items that you pick up and don't need, just vendor. They very rarely sell on the GTN, and can usually sell for a decent price. Blues and Purples can go up on the GTN.
  6. It seems I have misinterpreted the intention of this request, that said, I agree with your statement I quoted earlier.
  7. So we can run around looking naked without sacrificing stats?
  8. As a casual player with time commitments and out of game responsibilities, who is lucky to play more than an hour a day, and whose highest character is 35, I have no problem with the cost of the legacy items. Keep in mind that the legacy reward unlocks for all your characters, present and future, so you should expect to pay a high cost for them. They are a one off charge for permanent benefit. I have no problems making money. I do a lot of crafting. As the crafting does not take away from regular game play, there is no reason not to do it. In fact, I made 1 million credits off the GTN this morning before work.
  9. Dear BioWare. Solnar_Xan clearly believes that he has been paying to beta test this game. I believe it is only fair that you do give him 3 months free time after 1.2 hits, as he wishes. In addition, as he is playing a beta test, delete all his characters, as beta test characters do not continue to the live game. Regards, Everyone in this thread.
  10. Well the download is about 16 GB and you have done 8 in 8 hours...so my guess is another 8 hours. Patience
  11. It's really impossible for anyone to choose a class for you, it's all up to how you want to play. The level up system is designed to help you learn to play whatever class you choose, and none is inherently easier or harder than another. The best way to go about it is to pick one that you think looks or sounds cool and play it. If you don't like the way it feels, you can create a new character and try another class out.
  12. I do not believe that a toggle could possibly work. Let's assume that the toggle was added. Say you have the toggle for same sex romance options turned off, and you group with a player that has them turned on. You enter a conversation with a male NPC, and your Male party member chooses the [Flirt] option, and wins the roll. What would happen? I can foresee 3 scenarios; 1. Would you see them flirt with the NPC? You haven't shielded yourself from anything. 2. Would you see what you chose for the conversation option, while they see the flirt? How does the rest of the conversation play out? What if you chose to kill the NPC while he didn't? This would be particularly damaging for role-players. 3. Would the toggled player take precedent over the non-toggled player, or vice-versa? Who gets alienated? You can try to avoid seeing any homosexual content all you like, with all the filters you please, but the fact is this is an MMO with multiplayer conversations. You WILL end up seeing it. Bioware is going to upset someone by allowing same gender romances. My advice is, don't be so easily offended.
