  1. I bought the DLC (which is available on Origin), but subs aren't available. It gave me 60 days.
  2. I would love to and I did, indeed, think of this! However, being presently stationed in Brazil, I cannot make such purchases from amazon.com. In fact, the only amazon you can purchase from in Brazil is amazon.com.br (which does not have any SWTOR-related products). The fact is, EA does state on their website that they allow for my payment methods. But, they have not updated their system to allow for such. Honestly, It's starting to get comical, really. The notion that I would have to call (as I have), or search on Origin (which I did), or attempt to purchase from Amazon (which I also did), to no avail is just too bad. The cherry on top, though, would be the fact that the only means to get EA's attention to the matter seem to be through the community section of their website, where they state they are present and active, yet...
  3. Friend, as previously stated, your list of mentioned fixes have already been tried. In fact, I posted the link you've copied and pasted from in my very query. The search for answers continues...
  4. I am able to make credit card purchases online, yes. Steam is thankful for the fact. Just waiting on EA, now.
  5. I wanted to send this via some sort of email/form, but I couldn't find any method of contacting EA that allowed me to do the same. I've called in through customer support, but thus far none have been able to help me with this issue. I have been left with no alternative but to post here. To sum things up: I would like to subscribe to SWTOR, but have been unsuccessful in my attempts thus far. Even though EA states that my card should be accepted as a payment option https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/star-wars/star-wars-the-old-republic/swtor-payments-by-country/, on SWTOR's website, it isn't. Purchasing subscription through Origin is not possible and all SWTOR services through Amazon are unavailable in my country. Been wrestling alligators to give you my money -- any chance I could get a hand? Tyvm! Please check the list of credit cards available for players based in Brazil and match the same with SWTOR's payment options or fix the erroneous page on EA's website! The cards listed are: Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, Visa Electron, Visa Delta. The ones in red do not appear as available payment methods and there is also no Paypal alternative. Please fix this so that I may subscribe to the game. Thank you!
  6. Yay, make that 5/10 posts on this page by HKtheindomitable! He's the official homeless droid of the thread!
  7. You'd think HKtheindomitable works for EA or is at least a child. I mean, this is a discussion thread where positive and negative comments are to be expected. Yet all he does is defend EA, without regard for the fact that other people are trying to voice their opinions on a game they've come to thoroughly enjoy -- something which the development team requires in order to direct the game towards the needs of the players. It brings me to wonder why he would spend so much time on the forums, bashing other people and their comments, when he could be online, in the game he claims to love so much, himself. In any case, this thread is close to imploding. Let's just hope it takes HKtheindomitable with it. Edit: Just thought I would add that the forums allow for 10 posts per page. HKtheindomitable has taken up 4 so far. 4/10. My, oh my...
  8. People are taking apart everything the community-relations team over at EA is posting. It is your right as a customer to voice your opinion and developers need input in order to better their services. Without input from the gaming community, the team over at EA would have no notion as to how they could cater to their player-base. However, we must remember to make things constructive, despite our frustration with the current state of affairs. On a side note, all those who are annoyed at the fact that other people are venting, worry not, for EA is comprised of adults and, as such, I'm certain they can handle the musings of a few angry customers. Allow others to make comments, however negative, and come to the realization that ranting and raving about people ranting and raving is hypocritical, at best. "Comfort and convenience possess a magical power; little by little they suck in even people with strong wills." -Chekhov Get commenting now, or meet back here, in these forums, in the near future, to complain about what went wrong when none spoke up. 9. Anyway, the news of the update to come is underwhelming, as have been the last few features implemented into the game. The fact that you must buy packs to make decent money in the game -- the alternative being slaving away for days, doing PVE -- makes enjoying SWTOR unfeasible at times. The grind is becoming unbearably exhausting. We, the players, have fallen into a terrible trap. New features are implemented into a game, which we already frequently pay for in order to have access to greater features (fair enough). However, all goes sour when, we, subscribers, must spend additional funds in order to unlock content which should be available to us from the get-go (Cartel Market items). So, let me outline how things work these days: Subscriber - > Has Armour/Weapon -> New update released that brings 'new' armour/weapons into the game that look exactly the the ones already released, but are of a different colour, or have a minuscule detail added to them. - > Player wishes to change his armour for another, so must pay credits to buy the armour. Then more credits to remove current mods from current armour. Then more credits for augments slots. Then more credits for augments. Then more credits for dye modules. -> Lack of in-game credits. -> Need to purchase packs to make money. -> Spend real life money to buy packs. -> Sell packs to other players. -> Unofficially acts as a middle man who pays to introduce new content to other players, since keeping things from packs isn't a financially feasible, in-game, strategy. -> 'Credits4Cash' sellers appear all over the game due to the fact that people are starting to prefer the attainment of wealth through back-channels, therefore (perhaps intentionally) hurting the developers and, more so, the game. Now, possibilities for this phenomenon, as I see it, are: 1) Incompetence - Developers planned the game mechanics/economy poorly and are now having a tough time controlling it (something which, unless this 'Pay to Win' mentality ends, will crush the game, as it has crushed others). Not only that, but the lack of communication between developers and players, no doubt stemmed from a lack of directive on Bioware/EA's part, is creating a rift between what players want done and what is being implemented in-game. This gap needs closing -- developers need to live up to their promises. 2) Dishonesty - Developers have decided to implement a 'cut and run' approach to the game, spending more time and money into advertising and generating false promises, rather than delivering on them. This sort of Ponzi Scheme is unsustainable and will crash as soon as i) the players realize that they're not getting their fair share of what they're paying for, or ii) if developers decide they've 'milked this cow' enough and are ready to turn to more profitable cash cows -- no doubt creating a new company, with a new name, but the same people so as to rinse and repeat without having a negative stigma to the new company's name. 3) Desperation - Investors forcing the developers to cut corners to make a quick buck. This is quite like giving an old car a fresh coat of paint, this is useless and, when said car fails to perform as it should, the developers had best be sure they've invested a sizable amount into their legal budget, because if they believe a crazed individual, who spends ten thousand dollars a month on a game, won't pick up the phone, call his/her lawyer and sue for denial of services or for grievance, once the game becomes unplayable (which is on the horizon), then they are sorely mistaken. So, what's the solution to SWTOR's problems and how does the above relate to the 'Producer’s Road Map 2015"? Well, the road mapped out so far is vague and leaves the SWTOR gamer-base both curious and flustered. This is why the developers need to outline a serious, few, goals for this year and follow through with them. First and foremost, the players must be heard. No more credit wasting on nonsensical things. No more imbalance between updates for PVErs and PVPrs -- not to mention the poor RPers, who have to pay their way to their emotes. A drastic decrease in content sold through the cartel and a tall increase in 'free' content (to subscribers, which isn't really free, but is fair, nonetheless) might also be necessary to help developers regain a foothold of trust back from the players who have funded them through all these years. However, said course of action will still be rendered useless if the promises made by developers are not kept, as has been the trend for the past few years. Lastly, before more content is flung out of the window, current bugs need fixing! We cannot and should not move forward unless we find ourselves on solid foundations upon which to build future updates. All in all, a game with SWTOR's potential should not be going to waste, as it is, presently. I am hopeful that things will change for the better, either through developer-implemented content, or through the release of a new game (from a different company, with developers more open to dialogue with their players, as well as with consistent updates which cater to the same -- as opposed to EA/Bioware's SWTOR). As an individual, should the game come to worsen, I can deny EA $15, monthly. As a Guild Master, I can deny EA upwards of $1000, should I make an effort to redirect the Guild to another game. However, as a Star Wars enthusiast, I would love to not have to reduce myself to either. So, in the spirit of change and evolution, why not shock this thread and your player-base by responding to this post and, in doing so, open your channels of communication to your past, present and (perhaps) future fans? Sincerely, Co-GM Harkon Jung Ma, Guild N.O.V.A.
  10. I believe they were bought by EA. Question answered?
