this isn't realism. this is stupidity. Issues with realism would be issues with the physics and such. To make hitting someone with the butt of your rifle cost ammo is an insult to intelligence. Right there with horde paladins.

guy is obviously coming from world of melee craft - the game where all the stat buffs/enchants/trinkets to melee are clearly more powerful than those to ranged. They do seem to be harder to play - which is a good thing. You don't want an army of a 100 year olds making sith warriors and face rolling on day one. The game just seems to be the opposite of WoW in these terms. As heals, I find a well played sith warrior or vanguard shuts me down and ****s me up real quick. Ranged arn't much of a problem - I rarely note them - except sith sorcerers - who are very squishy as well but do way too much damage way too quickly (arcane mages of the game). Theyre not imbalanced either. Play a DK, or even a warrior in its current state, against a warlock to know imbalance.

Guild Wars has no immersion and is not an MMORPG. Premades are part of the game. Its PvP, there is bound to be team based playing. I would actually like not having to play against premades because getting facerolled by one is not fun, but they are going to be there, arn't they? Its like jumping into a QuakeIV or CS server and leaving because 3-4 players are from a clan and playing together. If you leave, your the noob, not them that need to start going and playing on different servers, Clan vs Clan only, and such.

I'd like to see a soul stone mechanic actually, so I can self rez in battle. Others have battle rezzes already from what I hear. I hope its true, in that case I'd rather have a self resurrection.

RP =/ RPG. They are not the same thing. Ever play Dark Cloud 2 on your console? Ever play any games that involve leveling up on any platform? Yeah, thats an rpg. Doesn't mean you go wearing a twi-lek uniform to every party, but yeah, thats it.

some of the folk in this thread should play UT2004 or QuakeIII arena. Their QQing will quickly be put in perspective. PvP = skill/clan based. If you are getting owned, get better, enjoy the game for what it is or quit. Simple -
also, if they made all CCs have a diminishing returns for 2-3 seconds immediately after the CC, and balanced the game around that, it would all be simpler, more balanced, less frustrating and IMO add to better/more competitive game mechanics. Give all classes 2-3 ccs on CD timers, give all characters a 2-3 second delay between CC effects, enlarge health bars appropriately for longer fights.
-
the game became CC heavy after WoW ran out of things to do to keep the mmorpg community in its pvp area occupied.

how does a loss = win? Forget the blatant breech of RPG, and of any gaming mechanic that makes sense in any video game - how does it make SENSE for losses to equal a win? RPGs were never supposed to be about competition. If you are competitive play a competitive game. Things make no sense anymore and people want them implemented. Jeez. RPG = getting immersed in a world. If you want to get immersed in a world - get immersed in it, as it is. You don't try to immerse yourself in a created game world - and then try do dictate and make changes to the world as they suit you. If you want to spend time in an RPG instead of IRL, deal with the world being as it is. You cant be both the creator and the player. There ARE games for this, try minecraft.

How does this spec look for Vanguard PvP? http://imageshack.us/f/853/vanguardpvpsuggestion.jpg/ Assault Plastique looks like crap, and Fire Pulse looks like crap as well, tbh. Maybe not bad, but not talent points spent that far up the tree.
-
The situational use of it, non-ground placement requirements, 8 second countdown timer and 4 second warning timer, and 5 minute cooldown make it quite far from OP, IMO. And, it can be disabled. Some class needs to have a kind of situational group pressure OP thing, imo. Why not commando, since our tree is ****ed? Wow has bloodlust, time warp, ancient hysteria, etc, without talenting for them. Would make the game quite versatile IMO. Situational OP, which is perhaps a good idea for this kind of thing and this tree imo.

We all know that the 30 point talent Assault Plastique is basically ridiculous as a main talent for the AS tree. It does just a little more damage than a sticky grenade and shares a cooldown with it. Also, it doesn't do AOE damage. Its not worth speccing into, the talents would be much better spent elsewhere. So, lets get some ideas. Here are some of mine Tech Cloak Were supposed to be assault specialized. Give us tech cloaking that we can use out of combat - but lasts through our damage. 5 Seconds duration, instant cast time, 3 ammo. 2 minutes 30 sec cooldown. Not too long that it becomes a major cooldown..as it is only really useful for taking somebody down easier by getting IR/SG/PG/HIB off on them before they can see you or effectively target you, allowing time for you to LOS or kite them. Its not OP in that its not major damage, its cooldown isn't too frequent, its only 5 seconds, and requires you to be out combat to engage it. It breaks on any damage, or only breaks on incapacitating effects (3:30 sec cooldown then) Plastique Hi-Explosive Puts a plastic explosive on the ground that is not destructible. Enemy commandos in assault spec can disable it. 1.5 sec cast time, 1 ammo. Explodes after 8 sec, dealing 42-50k damage to all enemies within a 10m radius, 20k between 10 and 15m radius. Knocks down all enemies and ignites them for 3 sec, randomly leaving either a DOT that does additional 1400 damage over 3 seconds to those within the 10m radius and 700 damage to those between 10 and 15m, OR a "Tremoring Nerves" debuff that leaves all classes within a 10m radius unable to stealth for 5 seconds and all classes within a 10-15m radius unable to stealth for 2 seconds. 5 Minute cooldown. This could be a very powerful but situational use ability. Cannot be placed on the ground. The random generator is applied to each enemy individually. The explosive emits a warning flash and sound during the last 4 seconds of its countdown timer. Due to the dangers of misuse the galactic republic has enforced this timer, and the sith..well they just want you to know before your going to die . Talent "Tamper Sonic Emitter" instead of "Burnout", 3 ranks. First rank reduces the time on the sonic emitter by 1 second, second rank by 2 seconds, and the third rank by 3.5 seconds. Assault Plastique Same ability, but on its own cooldown timer, and adds a burning effect debuff that does an additional 25% of the total damage it did over 9 seconds. what do you guys think? add ideas

Why does everyone hate the prequals????
nitaant replied to reaperkeepet's topic in STAR WARS Discussion
The depths that the various actors gave to their characters is what I mean. Darth Sidius, for example, had an excellent character portrayal of complete corruption - sucking him bone dry of any humanity - the sense of inner weakness and exterior power that comes with it. Ananakin as completely out of his mind and attached and lost, and his portrayal of a 'do good' jedi with a deep, prideful and troubled interior prior to his 'going dark'. Natalie portman didn't have much to work with but she was good. General grievous was excellent. Its just revenge of the sith that I am talking about actually. Attack of the clones and the phantom menace sucked balls ultimately, unfortunately. Its true I never paid attention to it. -
yeah change shock to a delay. Will make it look cooler too. We can keep the cool, unique mechanics and animation and make it viable in pvp for both mirror classes. Just make shock have a a second of 'powering up' time. It would look really cool, even more appropriate than it is really - and balance everything out.
