  1. Just because it's cheap, doesn't mean it's right. Based on your philosophy, everyone in the United States should send me a penny. I would be happy with that, and it's only a penny. So come on!
  2. I'm still here, and used to be quite the fanboy/biodrone. But in the past few months, ever since I was forced to lose my name to an inactive player because they arbitrarily decided to kill our active server... I've become more and more disenchanted. I think this 'expansion' nonsense is about the last straw for me, though. There are too many good games out there that would love my money for me to continue giving money to a game that I'm not really enjoying.
  3. The unfortunate thing is that the people that are preordering this content patch are actually doing more harm than good to this game. Do you think this money is going to support the game? That it's being put towards developing the game? Have we seen ANY content released in the past six months that had not already been developed by the team before they mostly got laid off? Fact: Makeb is done and has been for some time. They announced it so that players could see that they were 'working' on content. Now that their current model of gouging F2P members isn't working, they've decided to begin gouging subscribers to see if they can get away with it. When you preorder this content patch, you're telling EA that it's okay for them to do this. I guarantee you that we've seen the last of free content updates. But hey, it's all good, right? I mean, it's only the price of a six-pack and some smokes.
  4. I haven't decided. I probably won't buy it, and will probably let my subscription lapse. I'd get the expansion if I could use my cartel coins on it.
  5. What nonsense. No one ever wanted to see this in the cartel market. This is crap that should've been in the game a long time ago. They are milking you people for money, and you just smile and let them do it. How long have we wanted a hood down Jedi armor? Now we finally get it... for an exploitative fee, of course. Don't you understand what's happening? The more you people buy this kind of thing (because it's just the cost of a cup of coffee and a muffin lol!), we will never see new forms of armor in game. We're never going to see new mount drops in game. Soon, I believe we're going to be seeing extremely difficult operations that cannot be done without purchasing the required equipment on the market. Unless you want to grind 6+ months worth of daily comms to get a full set! Everything will be purchasable on the Cartel Market. It's a pretty dark path this game is going on.
  6. It should've at least been available via cartel coins. What garbage. It's not an expansion, it's a cash grab.
  7. Money being spent on the game is not being funneled back into the game. I will believe this game has a future when we see NEW content being made that hasn't already existed in studio since summer. I do love the core game, and like a sucker, I subscribe so that I don't have to deal with the terrible restrictions on F2P players. That said, it's taken me a year to finish two class stories, so I have a ton of content at my disposal to where I won't have to buy Makeb. Once I finish the class stories, then I'm done with this game. Assuming it lasts that long.
  8. ...can you guys please put Denova and Terror from Beyond into the Operation Finder? For those of us that are unable to join a regular operations group? I'd love to do these two operations before they become obsolete and no one ever does them again.
  9. If anyone's noticed, all of these '6 week content updates' they've been releasing were initially all part of the same patch. Makeb included. Since summer, when this was all announced, you haven't seen any plans for any actual 'new' content beyond the original Makeb patch. Let's face it... Makeb is done, and has been for some time. All they are doing is stalling for time until EA figures out what they're going to do with this game. Additional content beyond Makeb is not being worked on (in my opinion). This F2P system (as well as milking subscribers for additional money) is obviously not a long term plan. They are trying to scoop up as much money as they possibly can in the shortest amount of time possible. This has been shown with the lack of an anniversary event, with Life Day being exclusively on the Cartel Market, and now slapping a price onto an already diminished free content update and calling it an expansion. It's my belief that after they run out of pre-existing content (aka, Makeb), EA's going to cut their losses and close the game down.
  10. They're taking everything that was meant for one patch and spreading it out in pieces so they can claim they're sticking to the "update every six weeks" plan. Cathar will not come with Makeb for this reason. Most of this crap is already done, but we're being forced to wait. Pretty humorous, if you ask me.
  11. You're right, forgive me! The Commies would win!
  12. So as not to tick off our armchair economists, maybe a better solution would be to allow us to vendor the cartel items for a marginal amount of cartel coins.
  13. To be honest, SWTOR had its opportunity to be a success in the eyes of the gaming community and it blew it. I doubt anything can be done to fix it now. I don't honestly believe the game will be around in 2015. I hope I'm proven wrong as I used to be a pretty strong defender of the game.
  14. I don't understand the desire for cathar. Juhani was the worst and most annoying character in KOTOR.
