  1. Do you have experimental data showing the tooltip statement of 57% offhand accuracy to be incorrect? This would make much more sense, giving 20.1% of MH damage, almost identical to the sniper rifle damage advantage.
  2. Shadows/sins are the best tanks for TWH/DG nim. They have issues, but they sure as hell aren't with those fights.
  3. They're in evidence when they have been presented to the court, or in this case the forum, not because they're sitting on your HDD. Once again, I responded to someone claiming that 37k damage in 3.2s resulted in a dead toon. This is only possible with bad healing. You are trying to make a general point about spikiness which is not what I commented on.
  4. I didn't say everyone wants shadows. I certainly don't think they're OP such that everyone wants them or anything. My impression - feel free to correct it with data - is that many of the successful progression groups have a shadow. Which kind of proves they're good enough. I've seen quite a few posts saying they're even invaluable. Talking about personal impressions is pointless - you see Fuyri get rocked, I see him require less healing than his co-tank (not in dispute - shadows require less healing). There's a problem if progression teams with shadows are failing, but unless someone can provide data to that effect, I'll go with my impression of this not being the case at all.
  5. 36k hp surviving 37k over 3s requires one dot/bubble/whatever. Followup damage is assuming facts not in evidence - if there's followup it should be provided so we can determine if it is in fact not possible to heal. I responded only to the statement of 37k in 3s, which is not a problem.
  6. 37k in 3s shouldn't kill you with competent healers...
  7. There are well reasoned complaints about shadows in 16man content. In 8man content..no. In fact my impression is that most guilds really like having a shadow. They certainly don't like having 2x Guardian, which Kitru tries to claim is actually good.
  8. Again, you speak as if healing the tanks and healing the rest of the raid are separate issues. The less damage the tanks take/self heal, the more time you have to heal the rest of the raid. In a healer check there's no such thing as "enough" mitigation for a tank. There isn't a single fight in the game where healing raid damage would be remotely difficult, if not for the fact that you have to heal tanks constantly on top of it.
  9. You're playing with a terrible tank. You mention trying it with someone who you think is not bad, but I'm afraid any time healer pulls aggro off a tank, the tank has failed at his job, badly.
  10. Tanks and healers are inextricably linked - the terms tank check or healer check are, outside of very specific uses, useless. Even in an aoe heavy fight like DG, the tanks take the vast majority of the damage. Therefore, their mitigation is a very significant factor in the pressure on the healers. This is why many healers, myself included, prefer healing shadows. The way you phrase it you'd think a freshly minted tank in makeb mods could tank DG HM. In terms of the spikes, they might well be able to. Pity they'd make even an excellent, full 72 healer cry.
  11. I just asked because Kitru apparently thinks tanks only die from spikes, which is risible nonsense. If he's ever done *even* HM DG, or any other remotely demanding fight, healing wise, he would know this. But I don't like jumping to conclusions about people, so I asked. If he has done such content, I'd like to know how on earth he can say such things.
  12. Have you ever done DG, even on hard?
  13. Correlation is not causation. Strange argument to bring up though, given that the most popular games on the market are generally considered dumbed down for casuals. It's clearly a rather successful strategy. (and no, I don't like it - I'm not a casual player at all). If this were a solo game, I would love content as hard as pre-nerf DG. As it is, though, you need at least 7 other people to do ops, and most people have jobs and whatnot and simply don't have the time required to complete that level of difficulty. So for the sake of me ever doing such content, I'm happy it's easier. It's still bloody hard though. Anyone who says it isn't has a *very* unusual conception of difficulty.
  14. You don't appear to realise how few people are like you. There are 12 confirmed kills of DG. That's it. That's not even 100 players. No company that wants to stay in business is going to create content that only 100 people ever see (ie everything past DG). The fight is still far beyond the capabilities of at least 95% of the playerbase. It is hard by any reasonable definition of the word. If you don't find it hard, then you're just very unusual.
  15. I bubble them after healing trance if they're still taking lots of damage. It buys time for deliverance to get cast. Don't get me wrong, on paper perma-bubble is a very efficient force:heal/hps/hpct cast. If a fight is lots of continuous damage you should bubble all day.
