The space combat is basically Rebel Assault. Which is fine by me, it strokes the nostalgia center of my brain.

The only authenticator that will generate code X at time Y is yours. You enter the authenticator's serial number in your account information so the server can also calculate the code on its end to verify that the number is correct. No other authenticator in the world will produce the same codes at the same times as yours. Therefore, it is not possible for someone else to bypass the authenticator check unless they physically have your authenticator.

If they had opened the floodgates for everyone at the same time without any gating, the queues would be far worse than they are right now.

E-mail can be a slow beast sometimes. It's never instantaneous, and if there's heavy congestion on a mail server then it can take quite a while to get to you.

Thanks for the clarifications on the number of waves remaining, guys, I haven't had a chance to read up on the news yet today. If they're planning for more waves today than previous days, seems like a sign that they want to let everyone in. That's good

November 27th here. Being that the latest news says that the waves tomorrow will go "up until the last week of November," I'm a little worried that we won't all get in until Friday. Oh well, not the end of the world, in any case.

If you're done jumping to conclusions and being outraged, no. The security key vendor is separate and entirely different from the Collectors' Edition vendor.

Tomorrow was the originally-scheduled day for EGA to begin. At the rate they're going, almost everyone will be in-game by tomorrow, or at the apparent absolute latest, Friday. People need to stop with the hissy fits. You're not six.

How do people manage when rolling on a PvP server months (or years) after launch? It's not that big of a deal.

What "extra money"? Is there somewhere that's actually charging you more to pre-order? Pretty much everywhere takes a $5 deposit, and then that's deducted out of the final price of the game.

If you think the rage is bad now, just imagine what it'd be like if they did this. "Fairness" or not, this would just be a terrible, terrible idea.
