  1. Tha main thing I don't like about the HK-51 quest line is it requires 2 flashpoints. I don't really like how "tactics" work for most flashpoint bosses. I also never seem to have the time to do them.
  2. Since equipment changes look based on whether an Imperial or Republic character is wearing it can we get an option in the dressing room to see the opposing factions look? It would help when your armor-crafter is one faction and wants to craft something for an alt on the opposing faction or when you have a character at the GTN and want to see if buying something for an alt would look good.
  3. The one thing I find missing from TOR I've seen in other MMO's which gives the impression of a living, breathing world that events actaully happen in, and that is either seasonal or random events. I know we've had a couple, like the rakghoul outbreak, but we need more. Some can even be made permanent. For instance: There could be spice running, where you can either run spice or stop it. It could even be a PvP event and it could even come with specialized space missions. You could even make this a more political event too, like gun-running to resistance fighters/insurgents. An Esh-ka invasion. Have some Esh-ka escape and invade a random world for people to try and repel them. These were a couple of suggested events off the top of my head. I'm sure many more could be thought up, but the idea would be that there is a galaxy event once a month to make the galaxy seem more real and living, and not completely centered around what your character does. Also, with the HK-51 mission on the Theoretika (or however it's spelled), Bioware introduced a puzzle-solving mission. There should be more of these. And let's not forget gaming at casinos or races. Some mini-games would be nice.
  4. I would also like to see a common legacy cargo hold, so that you can put items there that can be accessed by all your characters.
  5. Now that I'm on a crowded server again, I think something should be addressed. If you were disconnected and rtry to log back in, you should be able to bypass the queue to enter a server. This would help reduce wait times for the rest of your team waiting on you to return to whatever you were doing.
  6. Valis was a tough fight, but I did beat him without dying. Now, I it was a while ago and I had the fact that I had farmed to social II using Esseles before I even hit Coruscant, which means I had a 2-3 level advantage, especially since I had done all the bonus missions up until that point also. I bascially used the following tactics: I used heroic moment, having used my big shield before hand so it would refresh and I could use it again. Whatever abilties I had to interrupt him I used when he was channeling. After he hammered on me, I let Kira grab aggro to give me a break. That's it.
  7. My biggest problem with UT is that tier 6 critical frequency seems to be lower than for other mission skills. You can often get more purple items with other missions skills at tier 6 than you can with UT.
  8. He doesn't look as good in the dancer outfit to me. Although, I guess opinions on that could vary.
  9. This is why I use armor meant for a trooper and replaced the mods. I hear if you're a twi'lek that your hood is down. The toggle should be easy; toggle hood down=treat your graphics as if you were twi'lek for your chestpiece.
  10. As a level 43 defense guardian, Doc normally slows me down. The only reason I pull him out is when the opposition relies heavily on internal/elemental damage (i.e. on Belsavis, there were a particular set of strong opponents who could layer 3 different internal damage ticks on me that did about 350 a tick each). If they don't, I just use Kira. Even when I have him out, I typically have him in his aggressive blaster stance because I really don't need as much healing as he can provide. I think the only exception to this rule so far was when I was doing the final mission for Chapter 2.
  11. I've posted before how I haven't had problems with a Jedi guardian that is defense specced. I think I've narrowed down what the issue most people have. The guardian is a precision class. I notice it takes anywhere from 1-3 fights for me to get my timing back and in those fights I get a little chewed up. After that, it's smooth sailing again. Apparently, player skill is a heavy factor when it comes to playing the guardian.
  12. If your guild is min/maxing their teams, I'd drop out and find a new guild. They're just small steps short of dictating builds for classes to 'maximize' effectiveness. From my experience these groups are all about the gear and not about the fun. They aren't very good at adaption or working with varying resources. They listen to what is considered the 'common' wisdom of the boards but don't really test other combinations in the field. Mostly, they're just jerks who don't find any other opinion but their own valid. Drop them. Drop them now.
  13. I got Doc for his guest spot on Balmorra. I like him and all, but he honestly slowed me down. Sure, I ended every fight at full health, but with Kira I destroyed spawns much faster and am somewhere between 90-95% health anyway. After I acquired him as a full companion and not just a 'guest star' I switched right back to Kira. Doc also made me lazy and careless on occasion, and I could see myself slipping into bad habits. I don't need him to be effective, in fact, I'm more effective without him. Honestly, he may be better for a dps specced guardian than a defense one like me. Besides, Kira looks much cuter in the dancer outfit anyway.
  14. Playing a defense specced guardian now and having completed chapter 1, I've had no issues taking on elites at all. All the story villain fights I've managed to get through without much difficulty.
  15. I read a lot of posts on the boards that "oh, Jedi guardians aren't easy to play" or "They don't do well until they get their healer companion". To those people I say, this.... ...I've been playing a defense specced guardian since level 10 and have had absolutely no problems. No healer required. At level 33, I'm practically unstoppable, and am only getting more so with every talent I spend. I will dip into other trees once I've capped defense and have Guardian's Strike.
