  1. Dear Bioware, being a founder, I've played the game since release. I took a couple of breaks, but I always came back, and I have never regretted it. Even when you more or less killed of crafting in 6.0. But this time I do. I resubscribed in October for Legacy of the Sith, and stayed on during the two months delay. Money well spent, I thought. I think I have a rather good idea how much work went in the second combat style, and I am also quite certain that you underestimated the effort. Fair enough, but that is something I couldn't care less about. It just doesn't interest me. So what did I get from this expansion? - A UI that makes your eye bleed and your head hurt - A two hour short story that for now removes the main villain ( and why oh why can't I just bloody kill him?) - A new, old, atrocious way to grind gear Apart from that? Nothing, really. Wow. Last year Blizzard finally cured me of playing WOW with Shadowlands, and it looks like this time you cured me of playing SWTOR. I still fondly remember all the good times I had, and it really makes me sad to part this way. But you seem to be quite sure in wandering in this direction, so I thought it best not to hold you back and unsubscribed. Still with love Cats-eye
  2. I started looking at the PTS yesterday. Can't really say anything yet on the Gunslinger I am trying out, but one thing I already notived, anmd that are tearing effects while moving, especially, but not exclusively if I turn. I play with the same graphic settings I use on live: 4k, round about everything maxed out. On live this isn't an issue, but on PTS I get the mentioned tearing effects. The main difference, I think, is that on PTS I can use anti aliasing, which isn't realy present on live. On PTS I'm currently using 8x AA. Framerate is not an issue, btw. And one more disappointment: 10 years later, and the hair still sucks.
  3. I know the answer to that one. They hoped, quite probably against all the evidence, that they would make the release date. They finally had to acknowledge that they can't make it without really pissing off their player base, so they decide to announce a delay, even though it is more or less at the last minute. I've seen this multiple times in projects before, because once you committed to a delivery date, it is bloody embarrassing to have to step back from it. So you push in the hope you can make it, even though there is absolutely no chance that you do. And if you think that people will learn from those experiences, think again.
  4. TL;DR: I really don't like the 6.0 crew skill changes <Rant Mode> The one thing that I really wonder about on the crew skill changes in Onslaught is: Who at Bioware thought that this would be fun? You know. As in this is a game and I play to have some fun. Before anyone accuses me that I just want things to be easy, I am a WOW veteran and have played for years in a raiding guild. So I know what it takes to keep your gear up to date and that it always includes a certai amount of grinding. I've stopped this and became a casual player because the time drain became too much, and I more and more considered keeping up to be a chore instead of being fun, as it was in the beginning. I lso accept that with my style of play I cannot get the best gear. Fair enough. But the crafting so far was a nice complement. Up until now you could get decent enough stuff from crafting as soon as you hit the appropriate level. So when I started crafting Onslaught stuff, I was quite surprised. Greens? Slicing compenents for basically everything? And tons of them, too. Ah well, I thought, crafted along and when I hit 75, i proudly put onthat new gear. Only having the first loot drop actually be of highler level than my new shiny crafted gear. ***? It was the first time I actually looked into the changes to crew skills in onslaught, and the realization was truly disappointing. Bioware had turned crew skills into a grindfest of korean proportions. (Just for reference: korean > epic) I also saw the anoouncement that there would be changes in 6.02, so I waited patiently. The changes make things a bit better in the same way that a cat 4 hurricane is better to have than a cat 5 one. It is still a grindfest or ... well, you know. I'm not certain who is actually going to craft the high level gear. One thing is certain: for a casual gamer that is completely unattainable. Especially since you simply cannot level up your crafting recipes fast enough to keep pace with your loot drops. For me this is not only not fun, it feels like a punishment, and an especially hard one. Can someone enlighten me what Bioware actually wanted to achieve with this? i've seen a few hints toward the broken economy, but if that is the case, the guys need theirr heads examined. </Rant Mode>
  5. The seeker droid sounded like a good idea first until I got to the first leg of the seeker droid quest. Did someone seriously think this would be fun? It might be if you're very lucky, but I've given up after scanning the area several times for more than half an hour. If you want to frustrate players, you have done an amazingly good job. Carry on.
  6. I've cancelled my sub and will leave it that way until they change the European maintenance times. BW made the business decision to do a global maintenance window, even though they have split the server base to the US and Ireland. Being an IT head now for over 20 years, I assume there are good reasons for this decision. That said, I don't like it. Especially if something goes wrong, like it did on Saturday when they had to extend their maintenance. If all the servers were based in the US, I wouldn't say a word, but they aren't. Therefore I expect the same service the US customers are getting, which is a maintenance window that is really in the off peak hours around 2 AM onwards. As long as I am not getting that service, I won't be paying any money to BW. For me it is as simple as that. It's a shame, because even with its flaws I really like the game. Btw, I *really* feel for Oceanic guys atm. Talk about being shafted.
