  1. Yup that is the best method, Some people will tell you their server is "super" and some will tell you they have plenty of RP going on, but you're not ever gonna know until you go test the waters.
  2. Wow I'm seeing a lot of Landroval people playing SWTOR. I rolled on Vrook Lamar.
  3. I started off playing on your server but decided to move over to Vrook Lamar. I would suggest that you check out the unofficial server forums sticky and see if you can find a community site for your server and make a Looking for Leveling / RP partner or group forum post your servers community site.
  4. This thread was created over a month ago and there is already a sticky for server forums can we lock this thread?
  5. Agreed, everyone should go look at that thread and see if their server has it's own community site first. Those sites are going to have the most useful information pertaining to you as they are specific to your server.
  6. Even the simplest of games, including the original MMO's (MUD's) had /roll functions. It really is quite surprising this was left out.
  7. Just want to make everyone who plays on the Vrook Lamar server aware that there is a community site for you. http://www.vrooklamar.net This site was created so that we all have a place to post our events, our guilds, our stories and meet new people that play our server. So take the time to get over there and register. We have user blogs, a mumble server, as well as a very active forum. You can create groups, add friends, and create events. We look forward to seeing you there!
  8. This is all well and good but these kinds of sites don't really pull together a server community imo. Each server needs to have it's own site and the players of that server need to promote that site within their community to help build the community. This way there is no confusion about who is who, what is what, and where is where. To call certain servers "super" is just ridiculous.
  9. Can you add to the VrookLamar.net Link that we've added Character Blogs and a Social Networking Community along with forums. Thank you very much
  10. I do agree with the need for official server forums. In the mean time though, if you have the knowledge and the motivation I would recommend starting a site specific to your server as we have over at Vrook Lamar. These large sites with all the servers jumbled into one place are likely going to fail pretty hard because they aren't "niche" enough imo.
  11. You might want to just play around with the settings till you get them tweaked the way you want. In my experience -- shadows, lighting (such as bloom lighting), anti-aliasing, and anisotropic filtering settings have always needed to be turned way down or completely off to get higher graphical performance out of a mid range system. It might also help to turn off Vertical Sync (vsync) off to improve your frame rate, but if you get any odd graphical "artifacts" you'll probably need to turn that back on. Additionally lowering the view distance of trees and grass can reduce how much the card has to render and improve overall performance. Really there is no magic button here, you've just gotta play with it till you find that sweet spot (No puns intended) in the settings. EDIT: I noticed you put down that you have the AMD Phenom ll x4 925 2.8G which is a socket AM3 chip. The motherboard in your HP system has an AM2 socket. So I'm not sure how you did that. Honestly sounds like you need to upgrade. Plus if you're running a 32 bit Vista install then only 3.5GB's of your RAM are being recognized.
  12. Very excited to see what the fine people on Vrook Lamar will be contributing to these forums.
  13. I would not want the responsibility of moderating that... little to no SWTOR time
