  1. Broadsword y'all ain't exactly lookin' good on your first try at this.
  2. That...almost worked. At first it just cut out the noises, so I thought it was still stuck, but suddenly the select screen did pop up! However, the game still would hang on the splash screen, particularly after using QT, and when I logged out to switch characters, it got stuck again. Even alt+f4 didn't work at that point, I had to sign out of Windows and back in. It's a step in the right direction, but not quite a solution...
  3. So for some reason, my game has decided to stop loading. It was fine this morning, but this evening, when I try to get logged in, I get through the launcher, things start up, and then the little hang mouse droid-noises that it's been doing since the latest update...just continues to lock me out, with the SFX playing endlessly. It never gets past the splash screen and into the character select, and weirdly, if I alt tab to it, it forces itself on top. I can alt+f4 to close the game, or ctrl+alt+del to break out of things, but in the latter case, even the task manager launches "behind" the game. I've also tried launching other stuff and only SWTOR seems to have this issue. My only guess is that Nvidia did a graphics driver update earlier tonight (which my system won't let me roll back), but since nothing else has issues, I'm not sure... Anyone else encountered this bizarre bug and know how to fix it?
  4. Maybe it's just me? I doubt it's just me. Every time I log in, first thing I hear before the character select screen loads up are SEC-M noises. It actually feels weirdly appropriate, for some reason.
  5. I'll be frank, I don't see how stuff amounts to nickel-and-diming for long-time, richer players that can re-earn a couple thousand credits in maybe a few seconds, but makes it harder for newer players to build in-game wealth in the first place, is supposed to help "especially new players" "engage in our trade economy". Seems like it'd do the opposite. I'm fine with the changes, in part because screw it, I am a long time player and this won't even be noticeable to me, but I feel like a better way to combat the real credit reserves would be to raise the cap on GTN sales while also increasing its cut.
  6. I'm "lucky" 'cause I mostly figured I'd be leveling up a new character this weekend anyway. But it's not surprising, given they were taken down after most of the devs probably left for the weekend anyway. The thing you better cross your fingers for, more, is that they don't do a rollback (though that's also doubtful, thank goodness(?)).
  7. What would be the thought on something like a once-per-character-per-week auto-complete or auto-advance option? This could maybe allow content without meaningful decisions (EoO, SoV) to get the catch-up treatment without presumably allowing for too significant exploitation, and could also maybe fix certain backlog missions like allowing completion of the final Shroud mission or Oricon as well.
  8. What's your item rating when you speak to them? You have to already have some pretty potent gear or they'll just tell you to come back later. Not sure what the minimum is, precisely; talking to them with all 320 gear wasn't sufficient, but going back in 326s + 330 Legendaries was.
  9. It's a weird sort of setup. Not sure if it's a bug or Working-As-Intended, though.
  10. Curious if this is a bug, or working as intended. Apparently, deconstructing 328 or 330 purple gear allows you only to buy enhancements at those levels, meaning you separately earn Prototype gear that you need to fill armoring, hilt/barrel, and mod slots with?
  11. So, a little context, then checking to see if anyone knows the answer to this (either via investigation or datamining), but during the story mode of the FP, Smugglers can either encounter the Voidwolf's daughter, looking for revenge, or Master Sumalee, who's mad you built up a pirate fleet. Thing is, I'm not sure what the actual flag for this is. My latest Smuggler to go through this ran into Sumalee again, despite making mostly, but not all, Republic-aligned decisions in chapters 2 and 3 of the class story. Specifically, he: So, does anyone know specifically what the trigger for Sumalee vs. Voidwolf Jr. is? Is it a 100% LS/Republic choices path through the class story? Or is it something that's actually bugged and you have to, like, pick the DS decision and turn the pirate fleet against the Republic at the end of Corellia, or something? Just curious because while it's very minor and not ever liable to matter, it's really frustrating to have an old ally killed off for no discernible reason.
  12. One of the things I really miss from the old creation screen is how I could click on a character mid-process and they'd play one of the selection clips at random. It helped me get a much better idea of how well the face I had "fit" the voice the character would have. There's some level to which just imagining the clips can help, but it's not on the same level as actually hearing it while looking at the face in question. However, right now, the only way to re-hear a clip is to completely reset a character's appearance. If just manually allowing it is not feasible, what about making it so that features locked don't change when re-generating an appearance (thus, by locking all features, a pre-set could be re-generated exactly as it was designed?
  13. Any chance y'all are looking into other tertiary stats as well? Alacrity is in kind of an awful place where it's basically useless to anyone not doing level 80 content full time, since it scales below the necessary thresholds when you're leveled down.
  14. Well, so it seems, at least, I'm not wrong in assuming the icons are random at the moment. Now just comes the wondering if that will be "fixed" or not. I suppose I could get on PTS and see if they're any different there, but somehow I doubt it...
