  1. Well the nice thing is that your Win 7 key should work even if you were to acquire a 64bit copy of the disc, so you wouldn't need to buy a new copy of Windows or anything. I'd agree with the above, jump to 4gb of ram since that's the max your board will support and pick up a GTX460 or Radeon HD6850. I have to wonder at this point though whether it may be cheaper for you to just to start rebuilding piece by piece by picking up a cheapo motherboard and proc and 8gb ddr3 for at or around $150 (less than that if you have a Microcenter nearby and can take advantage of their deals). DDR2 is ridiculously expensive these days, and there comes a point where it just makes sense to move into a platform with a little more of a future to it. Anyway, my 2 cents, definitely the ram, and a cheap video card upgrade.
  2. Seriously? You're whining about a short lasting plague effect? Hell if you're on my server I'll give you credits just to quiet you up.
  3. How ridiculous is it that a $130 mouse is having these issues. I bought one had it for a week and then returned it. My fix was buying something else
  4. I'm not included in this as I'm just an infrequently able to play level 47, but I think this is way more equitable to the altoholics out there that have multiple level 40s/30s/etc. Bravo BW for listening to your community.
  5. As it turns out there was a box of 8 pens and only 1 of those had been completely emptied with the promise of a future refill. The people complaining about the 1 empty pen however get placated by being given money to buy more pens instead of using the 7 other pens that they had available to them the entire time. See how this works. Long story short if you got the time awesome, go play while the rest of us subsidize your account. The rest of us who got the shaft and have likely paid as much or more than you for our accounts are going to sit here and whine as we see fit.
  6. I'm mocking nobody. If you are concerned with endgame warzone competition, how competitive do you think you're going to be against people who have leveled a number of alts of different classes to 50 and have all of the associated buffs. Like it or not, alt leveling has become part of the endgame here. Also, your thinking there is nothing to do is not the same as there actually being nothing to do.
  7. Here's what I don't get, the argument from the camp saying that "The 50s deserve it due to lack of endgame content" are completely missing the fact that there are 7 other classes to play each of which has a full storyline. People have known for months that Legacy was coming and one would think that the hardcore people they're trying to keep would be leveling alts to take advantage of buffs etc. To say that level 50 people had no content to play is a total fallacy. My money paid to Bioware so far : SWTOR CE - $150 4 Months @ $15 _______________ $210 Money paid to Bioware of someone who leveled to 50, bought the regular edition, and only played for a month and then resubbed this month for the 1.2 patch and who is also getting the free 30 days. ~$75-90 (I'm throwing an extra month in just to boost the amount). Money is loyalty, subscription time is loyalty. An arbitrary level that one can hit in a week by having absolutely no life is not loyalty. Once again, those that say that the 50s deserve it due to lack of content are completely ignoring that there are 7 other classes to play each of which would feed into buffs for their primary character once legacy hit. It's just stupid.
  8. Yes, because clearly, your situation applies to everyone. I don't ***** much about the game at all. I bought the CE, I've had a paid subscription since day 1. I don't have time to play much and have a char at 47. For them to give free time to people who quit and free time to people with 50+ only is a bit of a ***** move. I'm not going to quit or pull the normal **** BIOWARE WHAT!, but the fact of the matter is that someone who is only able to play 3-4 hours a week is getting screwed in this "gesture of goodwill".
  9. Yeah, it's odd, all the benchmarks I had ever seen only indicating a less than ~8% performance gain with the DDR3. Also, definite yes on the OS, Win 7 x64.
  10. Was having trouble with my pc last few weeks and finally decided to replace some of my aging parts. My CPU and vid card remained the same (Phenom II x6 1100t, GTX 460) but I changed the motherboard and ram and am getting a HUUUGE difference in fps. I had a Gigabyte GA785-US2H mobo and 4gb ddr2-800 and went to an Asus m5a97 and 8gb DDR3 1600 and my fps have literally almost doubled across the board. I used to get like 16-25 fps on fleet, now getting like 36-60. I'm guessing the difference is the ram myself. This game seems super ram dependent and the jump from 4gb to 8gb I'm speculating as being the difference. This is just a guess on my part, but anyway, I'm happy to see some results finally. *Note : the 16-25 fps was on medium-ish settings. I've turned on all the settings now and it still seems to play a hell of a lot better than it did pre-upgrade.
  11. Weird, I'm 39 and getting a ton of quests, how many outposts have you visited so far?
  12. Once you know where everything is you can jump to level 10 in a couple of hours.
