  1. You didn't have a 0% failure rate before 2.0. I would think that the failure rate SHOULD be slightly higher for higher missions .. like I wouldn't expect a grade 1 to fail as often as a grade 9, would you? As for comparisons to grade 6 - grade 6 had no rich/bountiful missions and you're less likely to fail abundant/moderate, as I've always understood it. My failure rate is not 30% that's for sure on maxxed companions..that would be 1 in 3 missions, which would be atrocious. Sometimes people tend to exaggerate when they get frustrated!
  2. I have to laugh whenever people say you can make more money from selling the materials and so it's a waste of time to craft. Who, exactly, do you think will be purchasing those mats if everyone sells them instead of crafting? Anyhow, I have no idea who is paying those kind of prices for Grade 9 materials. I craft a ton and haven't purchased a single unit of grade 9 resources, despite the fact that for lower-grade resources I often purchase 5k units + in one shopping session. Personally I think Armormech & Synthweaver are the worst off - profit-wise they really only can make Augments & Aug kits. And they each have HALF of the augments. That's pretty terrible IMHO. Cybertech & Artifice seem the most diverse to me, with several things that can be made & sold quite easily. But, then, that's if you don't obsess about just the end-game items which is what most people do. *shrug*
  3. Meh, I'm a crafter much more than I am anything else and I don't think this is a good idea. You can't switch combat professions on your toon, being able to switched crafting is already a plus. I have a zillion schematics on my main toon and I could never, ever drop it because of that but.. you can make 21 other characters after all!
  4. The reason this is a great idea is because it gives crafters something for them specifically. I realize this is a very difficult concept to believe but there are some people that mostly craft with their playing time.. and yet we get no legacy points for that playing choice (the ONLY style of play that isn't rewarded with legacy points mind you).
  5. As far as I can tell it's good as sometimes I get 20 of the item you actually want and none of the other. Sometimes the opposite happens as well though.
  6. As long as everything can be purchased for credits from the GTN, I really don't see where the issue is. Don't use your real-life money people...let someone else do that! (Yes, I realize that SOMEONE has to do it in order for them to be for sale on the GTN)
  7. Well, here's what I think. You're completely, absolutely wrong. Here's the problem - a lot of people that want to "craft" don't actually want to craft - they want to make lots of credits easily. There are plenty of ways in the game to make credits easily just for the sake of making credits. Leave the crafting to those that actually like the game of crafting, mkay? Swtor crafting might not be ideal, but it's still a crafting system. I manage to make plenty of credits despite the fact that I don't do high-end raids nor sell any high-end items. And, even better, I help people level without gouging them while I make credits.
  8. I can see this.. IF It was limited to only the lowest level or the two lowest levels of missions. You can't have people being able to queue up 5+ hours of mission gathering. I KNOW it's frustrating, trust me, the two resources I use a ton of are grade 2's and I've run at least eleventy billion missions for those.
  9. Nope, not broken. And, no offense, but if you don't enjoy the mechanics of crafting why craft? You can buy everything you need from others that enjoy it and usually at very reasonable prices.
  10. No..I understand she never bought them. I have over 12 and they were NEVER in limbo status, I could use all of them whenever I wanted before this patch, as could everybody else. The only thing that happened was at the bottom you'd see 12/16 and now apparently you see 16/16. But, that in of itself doesn't say that you won't have to buy 5 cartel account unlocks in order to make #17. Hopefully that's as clear as mud.
  11. But are they really unlocked is the question. If your buddy bought 1 character slot from the market, would he be able to make a new toon? The post a couple above yours seems to be saying it's clear that you can't. If you have 16 characters and wanted to make another character you would have to buy 5 character slots, not 1. Anyhow, it still doesn't seem crystal clear to me the way it was stated in the patch notes but I guess that's most likely the case.
  12. So..just to make sure I understand, if you're a subscriber and you have 15 toons on one server you need to buy 4 new character slots in order to be able to make 1 more character?
  13. The post was a week old and these forums aren't exactly fast movers.. I hardly think that qualifies as a necro. I actually have no idea who you are in game, tbqh, so I didn't seek you out because you're my competition. But hey, I get it, nobody likes to feel dumb and I didn't exactly point it out in a nice way. As to you having the stats people desire..I haven't played this game in 6 months but I'm fairly certain we all have the exact same schems so stat-wise none of us are special.
  14. This thread is like a year old... I seriously doubt it's been broken since a patch in February. I started playing again 3 days ago and I've had at least 5 crits on rich Grade 3 that gave me 5 bio toxin each. This is only using one companion that is nowhere near maxxed out and has no extra crit chance. I think it's working fine.
  15. LOL. You might need to craft yourself a sense of humor. Humanpirhana was being FUNNY. He is saying that HE himself makes tons of credits selling lowbie implants so he agrees completely with you but he doesn't want anyone else to know the secret. Some clues as to the intent of his post: "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. These aren't the droids you're looking for." PS I started playing again a couple of days ago and brought the implants on POT5 down to a more reasonable price so expect your profits to got down a smidge.
