  1. Yes, it was argued in beta, argued now and will be argued in the next SW game. For some reason people think it's fun to play 4 years kids old practicing with a stick for hours a day. And yes, that's reductio ad absurdum, but that's still what such silly threads warrants. Established lore shows kids with sabers, and I doubt they had the technical skill to really work much before getting them.
  2. I wonder what MMOs people played in "the good ole days of rose tainted glasses" because I don't see much difference between what I saw in DAoC and forward to now. Only difference is that MMOs now are mainstream and therefore have an overall much bigger population size. But outside that - I still see the same trolling, flaming and qq'ing and qq'ing about qq'ing.
  3. If force sensitives only came from Jedi propagating the order would have been extinct very fast given the no-attachment rules. There's many Jedi, they most usually start training very young, not old - and it's not difficult to get a saber. That's how it is. Other games might do something else, then go to the other games if you want something else.
  4. Even in the movies - children jedi have lightsabers. I don't get why people think it should be such a difficult task to get one. Plus Jedi normally start as very young and not the other way around
  5. I'd rather have Jar Jar than Ewoks any day of the weak. This .......... I lack words to describe how awful I think this is.
  6. Gotten 20 or so levels on yet another alt while watching Le Mans on the side. Love trying out the other classes so I have some choice in what to play in Operations. Double XP weekends are wonderful.
  7. Good and bad players exists in all roles. Tanks, healer and dps alike. The main issue is that a bad dps can hide himself easier than a bad tank or healer. I see bad dps not attacking anything but what the tank touches, meaning mobs run rampant and kick down healers or overwhelm the tank. I see tanks tunnel vision or trying to tank a weak mob while elites run around, or rushing ahead and I see healers doing likewise weird stuff. The main difference however I've see in this game between roles are the "I am tank" syndrome which will twist otherwise rational people (okay, I'm guessing at the rational aspect here) into self-centered arrogant know-it-all: "Do as I say or I quit" type people because they know tanks are in high demand.
  8. Healing companions are of course great because of - well healing. But don't discount well equipped tanking companions and dps companions. The issue is keeping them up to par in equipment. I mostly always run with the dps companions when not on some 'boss' type mob that I can't handle with it. I like companions like Jasea for this reason. Kill faster = less need for healing as well
  9. For me at least - the lack of dyes in collection system have killed the market for me. I will not buy colors from the market nor from GTN. Therefore the net result for Bioware is a pure expense in my case for this feature. On the flip side, I've bought gamble packs for the collections of - for example - crystals and armor, plus I engage on the GTN with them - buying and selling. The net result is cartel coins bought from me and thus a revenue for Bioware. Now, I know I'm "just one" consumer - but I seriously doubt I'm extraordinary when it comes to this. Dyes in collection system will make me buy packs and dyes. The lack of them in there means it's not worth the cost, whether it's in-game currency on the GTN or Cartel Coins on the market.
  10. Some real life tanks can't hold aggro either. A companion is just a 'bot' and unless you equip it decently, you'll never get decent performance from it. The healing companions isn't as good as a proper healer. The DPS companions aren't as good as proper DPS. And similar for tank. However IMO the tank companion does quite well considering - if you equipment in equal level gear and play as you would, with a tank player. The tank companions I use seems to do just fine when equipped for such.
  11. it's fine you don't like it and what other stuff, but well ...... It does not make the game less immersive. Plus don't take the "solo players" and "completionists" hostage to support your position.
  12. How many are asking for it since it's enough? 'Cause if it is the few in this thread and the other, then there's more that ask for most other things.
  13. Perhaps because there's better things to use their money on.
