  1. Situational. Is the tank focusing the harder mobs? Are those loose mobs weak and easy to kill? It's a damages job to clean the fight of any weak enemies before engaging heavier targets. This makes fights easier on heals and by proxy everyone else.
  2. If yer talking pvp then yeah Focus is the way to go for maximizing yer sith body count. Sweep bombs are back weeeeeeee. That said Vigilance is still viable and fun just don't be surprised at the damage output difference. Focus has also become legit for PvE but for raw sustained damage Vigilance is still boss. edit - Forgot to add that a buddy of mine that is REALLY into pvp in this game has been raving about vigilance/focus hybrid. You give up exhaustion and some other things but gain unremitting which is useful and hilarious.
  3. Haha welcome to PvP in yer PvE. As a former pve rogue in wow for 6 years and now a vigilance guardian that keeps up with well played equal geared sentinels I would like to welcome you to the club. It's gonna be a roller coaster, how long you ride depends on you. There will be ups and downs for everyone. May the force be with you.
  4. Not quite. 1 meter = 3.2808399 feet (3 feet 3⅜ inches). I agree in the realistic sense 4 meters is a bit long for a 1 handed weapon on a "normal" sentient being.
  5. Melee range is 4 meters. What you are seeing is either you or he lagging so that swings are executed but someone appears to be too far away.
  6. This is false. Keep shield and absorb as close as possible and aim for 50% chance for both. Your threat depends on shielding attacks for energy procs and resets of the stockstrike cooldown. Defense is a full mitigation stat and as a healer is a PAIN to heal. Spiky and unpredictable or low slow and steady.
  7. Dunno about achievements but I do the Belsavis dailies every day and then make a few circuits of the ancient stasis zone killing all the strong and elite animals for bio harvesting. I aim to acquire ALL the possible lvl49 Artifact Quality Implants.
  8. You mean this? http://www.torhead.com/ability/g4iOfPW/reactive-shield Seems your bonus IS working dude.
  9. Only read OP but I am hoping I am not the first to suggest this. After leveling a shield vanguard to 50, experiencing certain problems, reading forum posts by others of my class and experience regarding mechanics flat out not working or under performing and then testing these and getting the same results I wouldn't call it a stretch to say it was intentional. There are a LOT of broken/unfinished aspects to this games combat engine. For reference. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=2373959#post2373959 http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=213800&highlight=Ion+Cell
  10. Still not a peep eh? I am guessing we won't hear about it from BW until we get closer to a working combat log in-game.
  11. Yeah Belsavis is probably my favorite too. Honorable mentions to Alderaan for giving me such a majestic view that I zoomed straight off cliffs a handful of times while leveling there and Corellia for giving us one fun urban combat zone.
  12. Haha it is funny how many plebes notice these little small things but refuse to look elsewhere for more examples. That d-bag remark aside, look around you at the bigger picture OP and see if you can recognize any other examples of differences taken only to the extreme and nitpicked apart. Back on topic, yes I have noticed this trend here but I think it is less prevalent than you think. For now I will continue to enjoy this game and discuss this game's many pros and cons.
  13. I think above 50% both shield and absorb's effects diminish and it is best to focus on other things.
  14. Let's go one step further and do patterns, camo, etc. /signed
