  1. I've had this idea incubating for awhile now but I'm hoping to start an information network guild in the future but the problem is, I don't know what server faction to have the guild on. My current options are Lord Addras, Sanctum, Ebon Hawk, or Shien. I'm largely looking for a server where RP is heavy and established on both factions and the ecosystem is such that guilds are rivals and allies and it would be possible to set up an information network between factions, guilds, and perhaps even individual members. If you folks are from any of those servers, let me know how the ecosystem is and the activity. I know that Ebon Hawk and Lord Addras are probably the highest population servers but that doesn't necessarily mean that the ecosystem is what I'm looking for. Someone from another forum brought up the question of how the guild would function in character and here's my response. Hope this helps in clarifying any questions folks have! ~Response to in Character Functionality~ From an in character perspective, the guild would function like an information gathering unit, like spies. I've still got to hammer out the details, but I know I want it to have an element that's unique, organized, and interactive. Stories and information is constantly being passed around throughout RP on the server. It could be that the in character front is that of an investigative journalism organization (that would be fun! Publishing monthly magazines with articles pertaining to server-wide events, RP happenings, etc.) or we may just be a secret organization like the Shadow Broker, where operations are more like drug dealings. If you know where to find us, then you can learn what you need to, for a price. There are a couple major issues I'll have in trying to do this, first and foremost, giving people a reason to care. If there isn't political intrigue going on (Perhaps server elections, community elections, dirt on guilds, etc...) then there's no way the guild will succeed. If there is a system or ecosystem set up that allows for something like this to exist, then I'll have to find a way to monetize it. Information is money after-all. The idea is still incubating and I probably won't put it into action until after a few more things happen with TOR. There's server transfers coming up over the next few months which could drastically change the climate and atmosphere of the game, as well as more content being included and added. All I know is that this guild would be pretty cool if done right. Not to mention Lucrative ~Warbreaker

  4. I agree with a lot of the points the OP makes and to help garner some interest for the game, I'll post the letter on Google+ to some of the developers so they can see it. I'm sure they're aware of the problems, but for some reason, they aren't really doing anything about it, which really discourages me.
  5. There is something off about the new design. Not entirely sure what it is though. Maybe it's the flow of the design or it may be that elements of the site are too big. Trying to go the clean, crisp Google look is a little bit harder than we supposed isn't it? Regardless, I think the redesign is definitely a step in the right direction. We'll have to see if we can convince them to make some tweaks and changes but overall, I think I could totally dig this redesign.
  6. I like the idea of a serverwide 'holonet' where you can do what you need to do. I also think the regular newspaper updates would be a nice addition as well to really allow for some deep immersion within the community. Here's to hoping that they implement something soon!
  7. I haven't read the whole thread, but is anyone aware of what kinds of criterion were looked at when determining what guild leaders get to go and which ones are waitlisted?
  8. I actually really enjoy the concept of having a news reporter on the servers reporting RP events that occur within the servers. That seems like a clever idea!
  9. Hey folks, Didn't know where to put this, but is there any official way to get the official typeface of The Old Republic? I'd love to be able to use that font on my website or in other places to make it more authentic and tailored specifically to The Old Republic. Anyone know of any official releases or someone who may have recreated the font and put it into a package?
  10. I've always thought that Voss would be an excellent playable race. Not sure how to implement them, but I'd totally make another character just to play as one!
  11. I was actually really worried about this because I've been doing some Black Talon runs and also some Heroic Quests on Dromund Kaas and for the love of God, I can't seem to tank at all. Everyone wants a Jug to tank and that really pisses me off since the only thing I know HOW to do is tank. I will agree that PT feels very awkward in the beginning levels. I'm lvl 15 currently and I feel I need to start at range. I usually begin a fight with Death From Above and then stay out of range instead of moving in as there aren't really any abilities to bring me into Melee range with the targets if you know what I mean. The only ability I've come across that has Minimum range is Death From Above and even then, it's not a far minimum. I'm really happy to hear that PT's are incredibly viable main tanks as I seriously didn't want to Reroll for a Jug. I love the play style of the PT so far, but I will again admit that it's a little awkward. Just needs to take some time getting used to I suppose.
  12. From what I've read and understand, it appears that Amazon is shipping games out starting on the 15th. Hopefully that's plenty of time for everyone to get their copy of the game in time for launch.
  13. I think that's a great outlook to have. People are finding lots of things to be negative about and while most of them are valid concerns, there's no reason to take the criticisms to the next level and have your play experience hampered by your mindset. Sure, my computer can only play the game at about 10 fps, but I'm able to play and for the most part, I can tell what's going on. From there, I just have to wait until I get back from home to buy a new desktop so I can enjoy the game the way it was meant to be enjoyed. It's all a waiting game, and it's all in your mind. If you ask for the impossible, then it shall be impossible.
  14. From what I've gathered while reading the articles and dialogue occurring on this issue, it doesn't really appear to be BioWare's fault that this may be happening. Retailers like Amazon, Wal-Mart and Best Buy make their own decisions on when items are shipped. For example, I've just seen a message from Amazon that they are shipping their items out on the 15th, so you'll have plenty of time to receive the game before launch. I'm not sure how other retailers are working it out, but it appears that things are slowly coming together and becoming more clear, so just be patient. So far, I think Early Access has gone incredibly well. Kudo's to BioWare for what looks to be a smooth launch.
  15. Former Ohioan here from around the Dayton area. Now reside in the dry, depressing state of Utah in Salt Lake. Lol. Miss Ohio. T_T Heading back home on Thursday so I'm looking forward to that!
