  1. I am saying this as an RPer, the request to know more about those 5 years can be considered spoilers and BW should not have have to tell the RP community what happened. We don't know how they stories are going to go. The first few chapters can be them telling us what happen those five years and if they tell us now, well all that hard work they have put in has been leaked early. They do not need to tell us what happened those five years for RPers to work something out. RPers are a creating and resourceful bunch. Some of the key Star Wars lore used was created by RPers. RPers and RP guilds can easily write up multiple possibilities and then when BW does officially state what happened they can adjust to it. It might not be a quick process but it can be done with creative effort. But expecting BW to tell us what happened those five years is equal to expecting them to tell us the entire plot of their new expansion now. And I will state this again, it is because we have to accept as readers of the story that those first few chapters are going to be about what happened those five years.
  2. Vast majority of RPers I've chatted with are really excited about this change and calling it "a dark storm on the horizon". When I've asked how they are going to respond to the time skip, they just state that they will roll with it and what comes out of it.
  3. If it didn't affect their bottom line to much, then they don't consider it a priority. Losing a few RPers? Eh, it doesn't hurt them commercially because they don't see much value in supporting roleplayers. Now if it was a bug affecting a greater majority, THEN they would have really been on top of it. But since the bug was designed to help "protect" the majority from spambots, the minority is expected to just sit quietly and accept the scraps they had out when they feel like it. It's not uncommon for RPers to get the short end of the stick in these games. I hate the fact it happens, but it makes sense from a business aspect. Losing few to keep the majority happy and paying. Beside, they expect the RPers to fork over cash later for their cartel boxes to get more outfits.
  4. They've had healing items have different times before and have adjusted them easily. Like how the Life Orb had a shorter than normal time limit.
  5. Hello! If you are looking for RPers you'll find that the site here is mostly PVPers. We RPers use a community site for RP purposes. Come meet the players there. Begeren Colony RP site Now for a good Sith RP group, I would recommend Moirae. They do well thought out plots and are very respected writers in the community.
  6. Typically, the times I play I find that the Imperial groups will do much much better in PVP (50 PVP) though I will switch over to an imp alt (under 50) and find that they are always winning. Now these are all done in pugs.
  7. Definitely go that site listed above. It's were we RPers go!
  8. The RP community did a race on Nar Shaddaa a few weeks back. Turned out really well. I'll go ahead and post this up in the community site to let them know that there is another race going in. We have a number of people that really enjoy it. The last one we did had big cash prices and rare items we gave away.
  9. Best place to get more information on how your community handles it would be the community site.
  10. I have to agree with CaptRavenous. My guild uses RPing to determine advances. Using a system of "defeat X and collect Y" doesn't really breed good RPers. Quite often with goals like that you get players of the "IM A JeDL M45T3R!!" A development of a character and the role they play in the community and what they show to members outside of your guild is most important. Just because you hit level 50 doesn't mean the community would see you as a Jedi master. One needs to take their time and demonstrate their RP to the community. We have had numerous people both Jedi and Sith hit level 50 and automatically assume that they are super gods. And all of those people I've seen leave the game because people really did not respect them. Because those players did not take the time to earn the respect of the community. Honestly, it's a sad thing. Just because you can kill stuff in PVP, kill enemies in PVE, craft stuff, and other game mechanics, does not mean you've earned the respect RP-wise to be something of some level. The players that took their time, build up their stories, and worked with the server community are really the ones that get their RP respected and EARN the titles of Knight, Lord, Master, and Darth.
  11. For question 1, this depends on the players, server, and community. Some will want to use the /duel and some will want to use /emote. You should discuss with the player OOC to determine the methods you both agree on. OOC communication is the most important thing. For question 3, this depends on who your character interacts with. Some events are large scale and the server you play on most likely has a community site that can help answer these questions. I'd need to know the server you play on to better determine these answers.
  12. I remember reading a while ago and I am unable to locate where I found it. But in Lore, are lightsabers with a black core for the blade considered to use a corrupted crystal?
  13. Aaah that might have been it. I remember that Dad was a guest on the show. He was rather surprised XD
  14. I've just found it's a more enjoyable craziness. When you start adding in the Expertise Stat, just doesn't feel the same to me.
