  1. The only thing more comical than watching C2 run around punching things is if he had 3PO's voice, and cried out in alarm ''Oh my!'' or "I'll be destroyed for sure!" as he did it.
  2. Ah ok. It's been awhile since I've played my trooper, so I am probably misremembering how it worked. Thanks for the correction. Still tho, you could attack a target, Elara cc's it...then target another while the first is frozen. Just watch your aoe's and it will work decently OP...! ;-)
  3. I dunno...I heard that's what happened in the game Two Worlds, as a cost saving measure. All the other problems in that game aside, the voicing was one of the worst. I cringed during every conversation. Getting Bob from accounting to fill in for some voice acting doesn't seem like a good idea.
  4. I came from city of heroes as well. I played for 6 years, until it shut down last November. And ya, I had a bunch of toons tailored to doing the +4 x 8 missions. This game is definitely not like that, at all. Most times, if I am fighting a mob with say a Strong, and two normal enemies, and an additional Strong wanders in, I will be in big trouble unless I take immediate action. The key to surviving in this game really is CC's and interrupts, and knowing your defensive cooldowns, and when to use them. You pretty much gotta take that second strong out of the fight with concussion blast, and interrupt the boss's strong attacks using either cryo grenade, your knockback attacks etc. Make sure you have ''Show enemy cast bars'' on, if it is not on by default. When you see an elite casting ''firebomb'' or something you don't want to get hit with, and you see the cast bar filling up...interrupt it. They lose the time spent on casting it already, and it resets the cooldown on the ability. Elara really will help you. Besides being heals, she has a decent CC ability which is the 8s or so cryo freeze that she often opens the fights with. So start blasting the boss, and for the next 8 seconds he will be unable to retaliate after elara freezes him. Soon as you start taking damage, pop your reactive shield without even thinking about it. Use cryo grenade, concussion charge, disabling shot etc to interrupt boss attacks, and limit your damage taken either further. On a H4 with multiple elites, take one out of the fight completely at the beginning with concussion round. Draw the others away, and Aoe/ST them down while interrupting, and minimizing your damage taken as much as you can. Soloing the Taris H4s at your level is entirely possible. Granted, it's also challenging, but that's part of the fun too.
  5. Yes. 100 coins, whether its the physical key, or the app.
  6. The crafting in this game is actually pretty easy. There isn't much hard about it. It's pretty much ''make 10 things for 20 points and buy new schematics, and repeat'' up until maximum level. And since the companions do the crafting, it's pretty much on autopilot. Also, the RE system to gain the better version is pretty awesome imo. I dont have to run 100 flashpoints on a low level alt looking for that one blue or purple schematic to drop, with a 1/10000 chance like in some other games. Even with only two companions, it's easy to get a crafting skill to 450 in less than a single day. My 11 BH had 0-400 armormech in less than 12 hours in a single day(before rothc), and recently my 13 Agent went 0-450 armstech in a single day also. Having all skills available to a single character would make no sense. I know of no other mmo that allows this. Don't forget some of the crafting things are considered perks also. Artifice can make the BoP relics for themselves, and other skills like biochem allow the reuseable stims, medpacs etc. Having multiple of these profession-only equippable perks available on a single character is a bit much, imo. Leveling alts for skills/crafting only requires getting to the fleet. Spend a few hours leveling a toon to level 10 to get to the fleet, and then get the required professions. I've got Master craftsman, and that is with 3 55s, and a level 20, level 13, level 11 toon. It's not really an outrageous expectation to expect a toon to be level 10 before being able to reach 450 in a crafting profession.
  7. Probably should be posted in the tech support forum. Lots of helpful people there. I had same issue with launcher stuck for windows 8. I ended up having to run the launcher in compatability mode for windows vista, or windows 7 I think. I forget which, but that solved my launcher problem.
  8. Are you saying that since the default weapon your companions start with is not moddable, you would like the ability to make a moddable version that looks the same, and is only equippable by that companion only? Well, it's a limited market, but I would have nothing against it.
  9. No. But hey, it is what it is. If someone offhandedly dismisses my claim by saying 4 seconds isn't important, I'm going to reply with why it is in fact important(to me). I'll probably not reply in this thread again, so it can get back on track or whatever. No big deal. Continue on everyone!
  10. Somewhat related, the collections are a bit of a mess in my opinion. Having to navigate the system is pretty time consuming. Sorting through all the different packs, or the dreaded ''all packs' looking for things I may have unlocked on a toon months previous, often times through 10+ pages is an exercise in frustration for me. I wish there was a ''show only things I have unlocked'' or ''show things I have only unlocked on a different character'' would help me a lot. I'd even settle for a search bar, so I could search through collections for things like ''sith'' or ''revan''. I do agree the possibility for error, and people flooding customer service wanting accidental CC purchase refunds is likely why the current system requires you to login with a different character to unlock things acct wide.
  11. I value my in-game time very highly. I'd like a legacy type bank system also, so I don't have to log back in with another character to transfer credits or materials between characters on the same account. You're also talking to the guy who has his laptop beside him while he plays xbox 360, so I can send my companions out on missions while I play xbox, so I don't have any crafting down time. lol. So yes, the few seconds it takes to logout, then choose a character, log back in, search collections and then the 4 seconds to unlock is a lot of wasted time for someone like me! ;-)
  12. It's just cumbersome to logout out and back in for something I don't need right away, but might be buying simply because its cheaper to do so now, rather than later. We can already unlock things like cargo bays and inventory slots at the moment of purchase for all accounts, so is this such a far fetched request? lol. It's a matter of convenience...but by all means, continue doing things inefficiently if you like to.
  13. Although some of the counterpoints are true...often times I am buying something from CM just to unlock it for all toons, for some possible use in the future. I may not care about equipping it right now, but if I have an abundance of coins and I see a set I would probably like for later on sale, I buy it and unlock for account. I might not have a immediate need for it now, but just want to get the unlock part out of the way. In this way, being able to do it all from the same toon is just convenient. It's not the end of the world to have to login with another toon to do so, but wanting to economize my time isn't a bad thing either. It would likely be easy to implement, so I don't see the harm in the request. Even if it wouldn't be so easy, I would still support this idea based on my own experience in unlocking things account wide.
  14. It's a decent strategy. I've got 450 investigation, and yes, the mats are cheap. You will make more money with slicing than with investigation. Augments generally sell for more than barrels. I can sell a 66 Advanced redoubt augment for 95k+ on my server. I can only get 20-25k for any variety of Advanced 66 barrel. It gets even better when you crit. Making two 98k items for the price of one, is always better than making two 25k items for the price of one. On my server tho, the Bio-Mechanical chips, required for the blue augments are fairly cheap. Often with slicing, you will find yourself overflowing with these. So it's mainly an issue if you want to craft the purple augments. You could make a profit just buying the bio-mechanical chips from gtn and using them to make at least the blue quality augments, as long as your other gathering skills can keep up with your crafting demand. Blue augments seem to sell for between 10-15k each on my server. Considering I can buy a stack of 99 bio-mechanical chips for probably less than 10k, it's easy to make money doing this, without having the slicing skill. One last thing to consider. Often times when I don't have Thermal Regulators, I buy them below a certain price. If they are selling for 21k, I can easily buy 4, for 84k. Then the rest of the mats I have in abundance, so even if I sell the crafted augment for 96-98k, I might get around 91k after the gtn fees. It's still a minor profit(7kish) for each sale buying the regulators...but when I crit...I get the 98k valued item for free. So by crafting 10 of these, I will come out usually 70k ahead at least, but also usually with 2-3 free items. Factored in, the 13 augments will sell for around 1.25 million (1.15 million after fees), and would have only cost me at most around 900k. So it's possible to make money even without gathering the thermal regulators yourself. It's just gravy if you can. Oh...and consider buying the Wealthy Crew mission, Trade Invader for slicing. IF you can buy the mission for 90k, and it yields 6 thermal regulators, it drops your crafting fees to only 15k per regulator, rather than buying them for say 21k from the gtn. Yes, these mission have a chance to fail, but using a companion with maxed affection, it's not much of an issue for me. I can't remember the last time my companions failed on this particular mission.
