  1. Below is a similar post. Basically, they are part of KoFTE. You can turn them in once you reach Chapter 9. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=858405
  2. I have a similar question. I have badly geared Marauder (190 gear pretty much all around). I have little credits and only 100 or so common crystals. So I want to solo heroics to get better gear. I normally set my companion as a tank so I am looking for a build that allows me to kill the mobs fast. If I have to switch to healer companion for the boss, I am OK with that. Based on what I read, I tried Fury, but I didn't like it. It is entirely possible I was using it incorrectly. I switched to Carnage and I like it better. The only drawback is that it has less abilities. I was using Annihilation, so that's my perspective. Anyway, I've only completed 2 heroics with my tanking companion using Carnage so I wanted to get some confirmation or suggestions from those of you that are experts with Marauders. Thank you.
  3. Thank you both for the responses. The information is useful.

  5. Last week I came back to the game after over 2 years hiatus. I have 8 toons (4 on each side) on this server at level 55. Between all the changes to the game and my outdated gear, I've been having quite an interesting time trying to acclimate back to the game. I've been playing on Makeb trying to level 2 different toons and I want to start doing the Heroics 2+ missions. Sadly, there is usually only like 20 of so players on this planet whenever I log into the server. After about a week, the highest I've seen was 32 players on this planet. I been trying to get help in forming a group to do the heroics, but there doesn't appear to be any interest. Anyway, I don't know if this is due to the server having low population in general or the particular planet that I am on or perhaps the players there have better gear than me and can solo the heroics, but getting a group started isn't working. Have the majority of the people moved on from this game already? I don't like to PVP. I'm mostly a casual PVE player. My old guild is gone and so are my old "friends." From what I can tell, most guilds that advertise are into PVP, Raids, etc. So joining a new guild may not work for me at this time. So at this point should I go to Black Hole and try to level up there?

  8. Just off the top of my head, assuming that you don't care to complete the rest of your class story, buy some major XP boost from the CC. Then do missions that normally provide a lot of XP (i.e. Flashpoints, Heroic 4, etc.) Space Missions are a fast way to gain XP. Also rested points are helpful to gain additional XP, but since you want to level ASAP, that will not help you much.
  9. Hello, I am not sure which mission you are referring to, but this website may be helpful. http://www.swtor-spy.com/quests/the-separatists-stronghold/803/
  10. I was leveling a tank Sin because most of my other toons are DPS spec. I was only doing PVE. It was slow going and it just couldn't shake the feeling that it was not the best idea to be a tank. The initial companion we get is a tank and having 2 tanks seems silly to me while trying to level. Not to mention that the light armor isn't the best choice to be taking damage. With the low damage output and light armor, tanking at the beginning levels wasn't much fun for me. Anyway, once you get the DPS companion, then you can switch to tanking and see if you like it. I started to enjoy tanking once I hit level 35 or so because you start getting armor buffs and you can get force pull. I am only at level 40 so I don't know what tanking will be like at end game. I switch to deception spec for PVP and it is a lot of fun. I would say, try both DPS and tanking specs for a few levels each and see which one you like better. Ultimately, it will come down to what you enjoy doing the most while leveling. Good luck.
  11. I have a level 50 Maurader and I like the damage it dishes out in PVE (I don't PVP). I have a level 25 Guardian DPS spec and I stopped playing it because I wasn't having much fun with it. I kept switching between Tank and DPS to see if things improved for me, but they didn't. So I decided to start a Sentinel and it has been far more enjoyable to level it. It is currently at level 43 and I don't regret abandoning the Guardian. The main problem I experienced with both of them is that you don't get your healing companion until later in the game. So you have to rely on your tank companion for most of the first half of the game. Once you get your healer, then the game opens up. Anyway, that's just my experience.
  12. I just got Dr. Lokin but haven't geared him so I am not ready to use him just yet. However, I wanted to know if I should use him instead of Kaliyo once I do gear him up. I read that Dr. Lokin can transformer into a rakghoul (I'm level 39). I'm not sure if that means he'll do more damage using that option. I'm using the Lethality spec and I like how Kaliyo does a lot of damage and keeps the enemy off me while I am doing my damage up close and personal. I would imagine as I keep progressing into the character, the fights may be more challenging and I'll have no choice but to use the Doc. Or do I? Is it more difficult to level up using Kaliyo than Lokin? I'm not interested in being a healer myself, but I could change to concealment. Anyway, just looking for some advice.
  13. I agree. I have a total of 8 alts and having all of them crafting different items sure makes leveling a lot easier. For me Cybertech is the most useful and universal for all alts. You can create armoring, mods, earpieces, droid parts, and ship parts. Artice is also a good one as you can get the color crystals, enhancements, and offhand items that all alts can use. Not to mention the hilts for the melee weapons. I find that armortech and/or synthweaving aren't as useful once you have "orange" gear that you like. But that's just my opinion. Another recommendation would be to keep gathering / sending your unused companions on missions even if one alt doesn't need items at the moment. There are several crafting skills that share similar gathering / mission that having extra items will come in handy. You can send those extra items to your other alts without having to wait or buying them from the GTN. This can get expensive, so do it when credits are not a problem anymore.
  14. The only low level purple crystal I know of is the pre-order level 8 crystal that you get if you pre-order the game. I think it is a +4 endurance. You get one free every time you create a new character or you can buy them from the pre-order vendor for 10 credits.
