  1. from my experience, not entirely correct. I have noticed that when an item sells, the GTN will return the original deposit, however will take a percentage of the sale as it's 'charge' for processing the sale on your behalf. good write up though
  2. orange item schematics sually come from ubderworld trading missions (random chance)
  3. considering anyone can be dark sided due to the allignment system, i will assume you mean imperials. AFAIK, there are no imperial player character classes that uses an assault cannon. As for companions, I am unsure. i thought snipers were useless for republic untill i found out one of the smuggler companions uses them.
  4. i wonder if a complete boycotting of the effected rakata weapons would get their attention? no one from here on loots them. anyone that owns them RE's or vendors them then their in game metrics would tell them that there are no rakata weapons out there, which might make them look into the issue, especially if the rakata weapon ownership whould be increasing due to more people killing the content that drops them.
  5. except that by doing this you are forcing people who want to have the best gear into a crafting profession. if you want to make crafting useful they really should do the following 1: Allow the crafting professions to make gear right off the bat that is equal to the commendation vendor/regular lvl 50 flaspoints 2: Allow crafting professions to make "some" gear equal to hard/nightmare flashpoints by obtaining a specific crafting material from hard/nightmare flashpoints 3: Allow crafting professions to make "some" gear equal to operations (various teirs) by obtaining a specific crafting material from operations by only allowing some items to be crafted, you still need to complete flashpoints/operation to fully 'gear up'. also being able to craft entry level PvP gear would help make them useful as well.
  6. this reminds me of a 4 man heroic i did on tatooine, cant remember the name. republic side, rescuing people and killing a sand people chieftan for a dead jedi padawan. we have 1 sage (damage spec i think), me (a gunslinger) and a DW jedi (sentinal i think?). we were trying to get a tank, but no one seemed interested at the time, so we decided just to head in, and I had my buddy Corso out to do the tanking. first pulls we were wiping untill we figured out what we needed to do to get through them 1: sage would CC one of the 3 elites 2: I would then manage corso to tank the remaining 2 elites 3: me and the JK would kill off the 1-2 strongs tanked by the JK, then work on the elites, taking the CC'd one last corso usually died because the sage was putting out damage straight into one of the elites, so i had to make sure that was the main one croso was attacking, then wouldnt get healed alot of the time. the final boss was fun though, we swapped to the sage companion to tank, but wiped a few times. then we got a 2nd sage in, had the JK tank, and me burst down the adds when they spawned. I know that one thing that helped immensly on this last boss was me inturrupting the bosses skill, because our first wipe was because it ***** us all. moral of the story - play to the strengths of the whole group and you can get things done.
  7. I'm currently level 34 on my gunslinger, and am enjoying the class as a whole. to answer your question, yes the class does get better as you level. When it comes to me killing mobs, this is what i usually do. I target lowest HP target first, on groups with multiple targets. I play as Sharpshooter. Opening drop into cover where i am in range for all ranged skills (lvl 10)Aimed shot (lvl 30)Trick shot the same target if alive, the next target if already dead (lvl 1)Sabotage charge (lvl 1)Charged burst the target with the sabotage charge after that, it just cycling abilities while making sure to remain above 60 energy. the above will kill at least 2 standard enemies (sometime a regular flurry of bolts or a (lvl 18)Quickdraw to finish off something) If your going to AoE a pack down, alternate (lvl 22)Sweeping Gunfire with (lvl 3)Thermal grenade. use (lvl 6)Flash grenade, (lvl 4)Dirty Kick or (18)Distraction to inturrupt casts, although i personally only use it for high damage abilities, or heals. Against strong and elites, I would reccomend using (lvl 4)Dirty Kick and (lvl 16)Pulse Detonator (if melee) to help reduce the damage your Tank companion (which is your first 2 companions) takes. If you are taking damage, rmember to drop and re-enter cover every 6 seconds or so to renew (lvl 15 minimum)Ballistic Dampeners
  8. I have to agree with this. If your going to make enemies become gatherable after loot has been taken, they need to remin for 30 sec to 1 min to give people enough time to harvest them after combat.
  9. Excuse me Mr OP. where are these 8-10 bountiful missions in slicing per teir that you can find? i had gotten my slicing up to lvl 340+ before the nerf. i have 1-2 TOTAL lockbox missions in the level 50 teir, which hasnt changed and i am now at 398. Earlier teirs, i was getting 1-2 high level, and 1-2 low level lockbox missions in each teir of the profession.
  10. @ OP directly As it seams that one of your questions hase gone unanswerd even though it has been asked multiple times, here it is. If you have an orange item with full purple mods at the same level (ie all lvl 25 required mods), then the orange item should be comparable to an artifact level item requireing the same level. The stats propbably wont be the same, but they would be considered 'equal' in strength, escept to the most pedantic min/maxer @ topic in general I'm in my low 30's I dont buy off the GTN or from other crafters I dont buy from the commendation vendor either (at all. i have something like 80+ commendation ranging from lvl 8 to 30 that never got spent) This is because i can get 'sufficient' gear for leveling from quest rewards, and random drops. i have created an army of alts though, so that when i get 1-2 characters to 50, i can feed credits to my alts, to craft gear to make leveling easier for my alts
  11. Slicing will only become profitable when the market for augments improves, which wont be untill a decent portion of the playerbase reaches level cap. In relation to best money maker, i'm not sure, but below is a list that should provide some of what most player could be looking for at 50 Biochem - medpacks and stims Armstech - blaster barrels and augmentable custom or artifact gear Cybertech - Mods, Armour modifications (not including ship parts because they dont look to be something that would need to be purchased multiple times) Artificer - Saber hilts, Colour crystals, Enhancements(?) and augmentable custom or artifact gear not sure what armourmech and synthweaving provide outside augmentable custom or artifact gear
  12. Because having 1 less step compared to other gathering professions is constituting to having to not work for our credits. I dont see anyone bashing treasure hunting, considering they also have a lockbox option which works the samy way as slicing (except sometimes you get less credits + random gear)
  13. possible reasons. 1: only one point in talent 2: entering cover, leaving cover, and entering cover again before the internal cooldown has expired 3: bug
  14. couldnt you just go with whatever, the run a flashpoint at max level always chosing LS/DS to farm your points up? or do you only get LS/DS once from a flashpoint?
  15. fair enough. Although i had read that popping your portable cover in the middle of nowhere didnt proc your 'going into cover' special effects, only gave access to skills only usable in cover. even so, probably best to use PC anyway for the ranged damage resistance. Does popping PC use up a GCD?
