  1. More specifically, but along the same lines, I`d love to be able to use a single lightsaber in place of either of the Dual Wield or Double Bladed varieties when playing a Sentinel or Shadow (or Warrior or Assassin). As it stands the requirements for many powers and abilities are ``requires a Double Bladed Lightsaber`` but, frankly those look pretty dumb. Why wouldn`t a shadow be able to use a single blade still? Normally I would guess it was to prevent other classes from using the power (you see this method used in D&D 4th edition to prevent any overpowered issues from multiclassing), but in this game there is no multiclassing and the only class that can get the power is the Advanced class anyway.
  2. One of the things that drives me crazy when I`m playing is when I want to craft equipment for my other characters on my server I have to keep going back and forth or write down the stats and everything to compare. I would love it if I could do a compare but to characters and companions in my legacy so I didn`t have to keep flip flopping between characters. Ultimately it would be great to be able to equip the items through the legacy tab or something, but I realize that might make things fairly difficult (bag space of the receiving character, etc).
  3. I like the concept of the melee magic user (like before specializing). I always wish they'd have the option to play a shadow with a single blade lightsaber instead of the double blade...the animations and combat are so great with those first 10 levels (and they aren't bad as a Sage but the fun powers are all ranged for a Sage) that I'd love to have that look/feel back. Playing a Shadow with the double bladed saber just....doesn't look very cool. Similarly, I'd love to play the Sentinel with one lightsaber, but I could see that being more problematic.
  4. I like the idea, but I would also like to be able to see what equipment my Alts and their companions have already (or in their bank) when I'm crafting items for them on another character. I can't tell you how often I've crafted droid parts for my trooper on my smuggler only to discover that I actually had equal or better equipment.
  5. As stated by one of the posters above me: I think you're SOL for now. Many armors change appearance between Republic and Imperial. Ever notice how many Imperial Female force users are looking good to go in their skimpy attire and how many Republic Female force users love wearing bathrobes? Same armor. I guarantee both go back saying "it looked different in the store..."
  6. I don't dislike the idea, but I think the game in general needs more mounts (that preferably don't take up a ton of space). I also think they need to look outside of vehicles for new ideas. I keep thinking of that honking lizard thing that Obi-Wan rode in Attack of the Clones (I think it was that one) but really, some more creatures would make sense too. Taun Tauns are another obvious one. But, in response to the topic: I fully support a Jet Pack mount.
  7. This is actually something that I've wrestled with as well but for a different reason: boredom with the same areas and quests. The one thing that I really miss about WoW versus SWTOR is that there were so many different places to level in WoW, compared to TOR. For instance, I completed my IA story and got to 50, and I've been working on all of the other classes (sometime multiple versions of the other classes) but I found that as I was back at Hoth and Voss with my SW I was burnt out on those areas (oh yeah, Belsavis too). I understand why they have to have the limited number of areas to level (stories would be difficult to implement on any arbitrary planet), but it doesn't stop some of those really long quest chains from killing your desire to play a character. A planet wide quest chain in Taris was fine, you could blow through there in 3 levels and a couple of hours, but on Voss and Belsavis you'd be there for a couple of days, a few hours at a time and still just 3 levels. So, with that I've decided to try and do a few things differently: 1.) Utilize XP Booster Packs when you get to high levels 2.) Do some of the bonus quest series that you might not have done the first time around 3.) Engage in some group content (this is a personal one as I rarely ever group in any MMO). 4.) Utilize rested XP. Still, I wish there was something more that could be done about this, I would really like to see a reduction in the amount of enemies you need to kill for Bonus quests once you've reached level 50 (on any character on your account, once for each faction). I know that I tend to be a completionist about the bonus quests so when you're running through the same murder spree on the same enemies for the 8th time it would be nice if you had a 50% reduction before proceeding to the next stages or something. But whatever, at least there's a story to keep it interesting. More than I got out of other MMOs
  8. That's been my issue too. I've been creating tons of characters but all it ever seems I'm using for mission skills is UWT. It gets boring.
  9. If you're getting color crystals instead of power crystals you're running the wrong treasure hunting missions. If you look at the bottom of the description for each mission you'll see the rewards and they say something like: Rich Yield: Color Crystals or Moderate Yield: Power Crystals If you're looking for the blue and purple materials for Artifice (and Synthweaving I think) you want to run the Power Crystals missions. The Color Crystals will keep giving you different color crystals.
  10. To elaborate on the first response: Armormech is intended for the Bounty Hunter/Trooper and Smuggler/Agent classes (hence Aim/Cunning). Synthweaving is intended for the Force Using classes Knight/Warrior, Inquisitor/Consular (hence the Strength/Willpower options). It is a bit odd that Synthweaving is used to create the heavy armour for the Guardian/Juggernaut but it makes sense to have one trade for the force users and one for the rough and tumbles.
  11. Perfect, thanks everybody! I was just worried that I had missed an opportunity or not said the right thing to earn a companion.
  12. Didn't see a search option so hopefully this question hasn't been asked and answered somewhere else: Essentially I'm worried that I'm missing out on time to play with other companions...I obviously want as many options as possible so I was expecting to see a 2nd combat capable companion after completing Taris with my Consular/Sage but I didn't get one. So, do I just have to be patient or did I miss something?
  13. It is under UI, I found it last night. It will say something like "Enable Companion Comparison".
  14. Do they have a setting in there that allows you to actually see what the Companion Customization kits will look like on your companion too? I keep getting customization kits for my companions that give instructions to view them before selecting them but it never shows up in the viewer. Drives me crazy.
