  1. NiM SnV/TFB were better tuned imo, they weren't all that reliant on one shots for difficulty and actually required you to deal with mechanics in a bunch of different ways, which is probably exactly why many people couldn't do them. I'm sure it's closer to what you want, though I'm not sure why you'd expect old outdated content to give you that. But since you refer specifically to difficulty in reference to 180 gear I figured you meant NiM DF/DP. It's true not many people were able to *complete* them, but tons of guilds were 4/5 or had significant progress in NiM DF. I don't think those ops were adequately "nightmare" then. I wouldn't say reliance on 1 shot mechanics was the reason for it, though. I think it was just generally poor tuning and a design philosophy of only making the last boss a significant "nightmare". The combination of those things results in 1 shots being the major (near exclusive) source of difficulty in those ops, at least in my experience, ya.
  2. It takes more than a few 1 shot mechanics for something to be "nightmare" worthy, that's exactly my problem with it. There is nothing else to the fights outside of those mechanics, and that's bad design. Those fights were barely nightmare when they were current, and they definitely aren't now. These old nightmare fights (at this point) have no dps check, no healer check, and largely don't require tanks outside of a "taunt" button. If learning the couple mechanics in those fights constitutes a "nightmare" to you at level 60, we will have to agree to disagree on our standard expectations.
  3. I would agree that it is a failure of design, yes. And as for how many healers can do that? My answer is this: too many for something that is supposed to be a "nightmare".
  4. I have a dream. A dream where healers actually have their own business to do in a boss fight other than just healing through peoples mistakes, such that completely ignoring mechanics isn't an option regardless if they are 1 shots because 2 reasonably good, full time healers are required to get through every phase of a fight even without team mistakes. When you leave healers with nothing to do in boss fights other than idly checking their phone and maximising their Netflix tab, the obvious answer to all mechanics that aren't 1 shots become: "Just heal through it". Almost every fight that's come out since NiM DF has had significant portions that were entirely solo healable, with a second healer really only being brought specifically to cover for people screwing up mechanics or for 1 specific phase and nothing else. I know my experience is obviously outside the normal tuning expectation, but I've healed many pugs and more casual groups and it's not all that different. The last 2 floors of HM Revan were solo healable even before any nerfs; if you're 1/3rd of a way through one of the hardest fights and a healer dies, and the team response is "leave them dead they aren't worth the rez", that's a tuning problem regardless of how awesome the one healer has to be to make it possible. It shouldn't BE possible for anyone in "nightmare/hardmare" level current content. But as long as it is, 1 shot mechanics will be required to make content anything other than "heal thru it and faceroll lol". I've never done Colossal Monolith, but from what I have heard of it, healing through the mechanic should never have been a viable option in the first place because there should have been something adequate for healers to do to begin with. It's a new one to me to hear someone use the words "healthy MMO cycle" in reference to SWTOR operations.
  5. Our Thursday Crest of the Dread Masters run this week still has open spots available! If you've been thinking of getting one and want to join in this week Thursday at 6pm PST, please fill out an app at http://zorzz.enjin.com/gearsale Thanks!
  6. Acknowledged, ty I believe I have replied to everyone now, so if anyone has an open app for a gear sale please go check it out!
  7. Hi! We are doing a Crest of the Dread Masters mask run on Thursday 19th at 6pm PST and still have open spots. If interested please fill in form for it at http://zorzz.enjin.com/gearsale or just ask someone in Zorz for Sorvali/Darqklaw.
  8. I didn't want to get pulled into this conversation but ok, since I have been: In that screenshot I was talking about the use of B-mods only, not total endurance stacking. Yeah I can tell the difference healing a tank who has just B-mods in and rest is mitigation, versus one who legit has full high endurance enhancements and augs and all that as well. Surprise, I don't recommend doing that! But B-mods I definitely do. Going from B mod to Unlettered mod (at 198): +16 mainstat -32 endurance +18 mitigation Since mainstat is essentially irrelevant, why trade away 32 endurance for 18 mitigation? It's not really a great trade in my opinion. In other slots like augs and enh you are giving up mitigation for endurance point for point, so it is not worth it (imo). However the extra mitigation from the mods is far less noticeable than the extra breathing room the endurance provides, at least in my experience. People somehow think I have never healed groups other than Zorz, or that Zorz people never make mistakes that need to be compensated for or healed through, but neither are true. I don't think that situations will come up where the choice to use B mods or Unlettered was the SOLE reason someone survived an encounter, but I have never "felt" that tanks who use unlettered mods actually take less damage consistently enough for it to be worth the loss of hp, if they in fact take less at all (as damage taken is far more dependent on CD usage, mistakes, positioning and RNG than on mod choice). During progression, when we are at the least of gear and when people will be making the most mistakes (including tanks), is when I appreciate the extra hp on tanks the most.

  10. All raids all day erryday let's do it
  11. People haven't been bothering to full clear nim S&V for Hateful for ages now, I wasn't even aware this was a myth? People sometimes clear past city boss just so the auto spawn when you wipe doesn't put you in the middle of trash packs, but I was never sure even that was necessary and it's definitely not either way if you medcenter every time.
