  1. Hello all I am running a new Powertech and was planning on the pyro tree. the question I have is what rotation should I use in PVE fights? thanks
  2. One of the things I liked about Previous Bioware games (dragon age 1 and 2) was the ability to have same sex relationships with your companions. Is there any word on this ever going into SWTOR? Basically as a female trooper my romance option is a rednosed, bad tempered thundercat... Id like to at least have the option of Elara... Hell Id take the ROBOT over Aric.
  3. I am not sure if they did something to PVE recently but I had alot more surviveability last night than previously. I think part of that was having Dorne out healing me constantly, part of that was I was ccing the crap out of everythign I could, and I was fighting things a level or 2 below me. and of course I am higher level now. Now I am still squishier than I was pre 1.2, but it seems I am taking less damage than I was before from PVE. My problem now is the fact I have no interest in playing a controller (for those COH people) Basically my fights tend to center around doing everythign I can to debuff, hold, or stun the baddies long enough for me to kill them. Some people love that playstyle, I do not. My trooper used to not have to do this, now she pretty much has too. Its as if Blizzard had come in and turned all paladins into warlocks. There is nothing wrong with a warlock, but if I had wanted to play one Id have rolled one... and for the poster above, yes that is very true on the kill priority, but its that way in other games as well I have played, so I learned this early on in this game. I will grant you others may not know this, but I do not think it was my issue right after 1.2. Perhaps the problem is that I chose a class based on the playstyle pre 1.2 where it was not working the way it was intended, and now it is, but if thats the case then all I can say is bleah.

  5. Has anyone tried using med armor? My level 26 trooper is melting faster than a snowball in heck after 1.2, but I do not have any decent medium armor to try a direct comparison. I hate to spend a ton of credits getting medium gear jsut to find out it does not help. Not to mention you would not look like a trooper, which is aty least part of the reason to take this class. I would understand the wet paper bag armor theory if we had over the top damage, but we do not.
  6. Just shime in my support here. I started a trooper prior to 1.2 after 1.2 she is nearly unplayable. Not the damage nerf, thats not the problem, the problem is damage mitigation. Her health bar just melts in no time against even level PVE mobs. She has good armor, prior to 1.2 she did not have those issues. Now everyfight is a near death experience, its like she has no armor at all. If she had massive damage, I could see the paperbag mitigation, but she does not. A trooper wears heavey armor for goodness sake, she should be able to take a hit or two. maybe they are putting us in line with the movies...Storm trooper gets shot once with a hand blaster and dies.... If I did not regualarly play with a friend who can off heal, Id never play her anymore. As it is, he is carrying me. I am in no way pulling my weght.
  7. I agree with this! It is very annoying. I like eye candy. I like graphics. If no one cared about the way their toon looked we would all be playing Zork... Also add to the list the fact that Twi'leks lose thier headband when they equip a robe with a hood (but dont get the hood) I mean seriously wth?
  8. It is not just your companions. My trooper in heavy armor is getting WTFBBQED even on normal MOB pulls. I group regularly with a sage, and his Quizen used to be able to handle agro fairly well, now he dies very fast, and I am the next one eating dirt. They did *something* I do not know what to heavy armor, or they switched damage types on us (heavy armor does not stop elemental damage for instance). I have not tried unequiping and reequiping my armor to see if that helps.
  9. something is up. I actually started another thread on this but ill chime in on this one. I am taking alot more damage, alot faster than before. This class feels like a wow mage now not a heavy armor wearing trooper. Id rather have my damage nerfed more than to get MELTED in seconds. I played a trooper because I did not want a glass cannon. I am really hoping it is unintentional, because if its intended, I am going to have to seriously rethink playing my trooper. I was not a fan of mages in WOW and do not want to play one here, especially one that looks like its in some serious armor. course in the movies troopers get one shot by hand blasters so perhaps they are jsut trying to bring it in line with lore
  10. how bout this one? http://www.trendrabbit.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/George-Lucas-gift-James-Cameron-Titanic.jpg
  11. THIS. I forgot to mention in my normal post, even when I am single targeting a group of mobs with my sage friend they still all attack me, at least until he does a big amount of damage on one. We basically had to get his Trandoshan to attack one, Him to hold one, him to attack the one his trand is attacking, and me and my pet to attack a third just to survive a normal fight. even if he attacked first the minute I started attacking a mob, all of the mobs attacked me. It got to the point where I was seriously thinking about just rolling a tank toon since thats what it seemd like I was doing the whole night anyway...
  12. I tried to read the patch notes but I must have missed something. Prior to last night my commando (granted shes only level 22) was not nearly as squishy. I am not talking about the nerfs to her damage output, it takes her slightly longer to kill something, but not really that bad. I am talking about straight up taking damage. I can start a fight that prior to last night I would walk away from with 1/3 of my HPs gone and now Im at half to 3/4 gone. My armor has not changed, and while it may take a few seconds longer to kill the mob, that should not be the reason for the drastic changes to my hit points. I run around with a friend who is a sage, and he commented last night about it as well, he used to never have to stop to heal me, unless we were going against eletes (my own little heals could keep me up well enough) now he has to heal me constantly even in normal mob fights. I feel like an oldschool COH blaster or Wow Mage all of a sudden, which is just odd considering I am in heavy armor. Conversely the sage does not seem to be noticing any significant damage increase (this could be because his tank pet take the brunt of his damage) so what on earth did they do to us to make me so much more squishy?
