  1. The little I have played since the rollout of 7.0 has left me....happy to see they are still trying to keep the game relevant and playable for both old and new players. I do like the customization they are attempting to allow us as players to "zero-in" to our personal play style. As the OP asked for positives I will leave my negative comments/issues out of this post.
  2. I want to like pvp as a casual player, I have kids so play time is rare. As to the get good argument its tired and does no good for a player. What I would like to see is either get rid of unranked play and make EVERYONE play ranked at 75 using all the maps...only the 4v4 arenas would count for team play but everything else is individual performance. I am sick and tired of stacked teams going into an unranked wz and just wrecking the game for everyone. and yes the stun lock immunity is completely a useless mechanic and I watch it get abused endlessly by veteran ranked players. BIOWARE if you are going to make us pvp at least make it fun and entertaining.
  3. Dear BIOWARE DEVS, I play a lot of PVP as I do not have time to devote to endgame raiding. While I appreciate your attempt at curbing or at least penalizing "rage" quitting or generally leaving a match early. PLEASE STOP PENALIZING PLAYERS FOR YOUR POOR SERVER CONNECTION QUALITY. being locked out from all forms of PVP when I DIDN"T quit I was kicked out of the game is extremely offensive and shows poor thought process in the implementation of this feature. Banning a whole server's worth of characters is even more offensive. C'mon, you guys are super smart and know what the hell you are doing, please don't ruin the one non-****** thing going on for me right now in the face of quarantines/lockdowns. Please continue to make and support a great game.
  4. Greetings to all and sundry, I am curious to know the general opinion of my fellow pilots regarding the following item: Strikes w/Ion Cannons. I am noticing this seems to have replaced the previous flavor of proton torpedo builds. Recently in a TDM match I was killed at least 4 times in a row while flying support in a bomber by a Rycer that was likely packing maxed out ion cannons, while this isn't really anything that surprising what is that I was pretty much dead within about 3 seconds of being engaged which I suspect was due less to the ion cannons but the ion cannons combined with a concussion or cluster missile strike. On an other note I am noting that matches are becoming very one sided again...alas I keep offering the gsf community resources to new pilots but not sure if it is having an effect. Just wanted to get everyone's thoughts on this and any suggestions for countering especially in support craft like bombers would be much appreciated.
  5. To all and sundry, I am inquiring about both general opinion as well as tactics to deal with the end zone team spam that seems to be far too common lately. It is frustrating to be a non-stealth class attempting to get back into the match without burning escapes and other dcd's just to avoid being mobbed at your own side of the map. Also given that you now die if you hold the hutt ball too long, could it be possible to do the same thing to opposing players who loiter in the other teams goal area? Curious as to the ideas and especially tactics to counter this behavior.
  6. Dear Devs, PLEASE fix the stun lock issue so prevalent in WZs, your little white bar doesn't work and its far to easy for a player to be unable to react or do anything while being pounded into the dirt. This does NOT make PvP fun or interesting. I really have no idea how you would fix this but I am sure intelligent people such as yourselves can figure it out. There is waaay to much CC that goes on in WZs and is often a source of frustration for newer players who are trying PvP out as another way to enjoy the game.
  7. Well its now 2019 and you know what still hasn't changed in the game, the toxic environment to be found on fleet or in general chat. Every single time I log in I wind up blocking at least 5 players within an hour for spouting sexist, racist, or other slurs towards marginalized groups/persons. I personally make a point of asking the offending player(s) to take it elsewhere out of public view and often am verbally abused or worse for asking politely for someone to stop. The character naming restrictions also need to be tightened, if I see an other "wet-back attack" or other ignorant type of character naming. I understand that you the developers have a LOT of work making this game but I worry about my kids crawling into my lap and reading this horrifically negative toxic stew. My wife no longer subs or even plays the game because of these very issues. Please BIOWARE improve your community before it is ruined beyond repair.
  8. I play on 4 different servers and each one has the same problems. Groups of individual players who seem to constantly sit in the fleet or other populated areas of the game and constantly troll their fellow players. Topics are usually racially or sexually offensive topics and daring to ask them to stop simply identifies yourself as someone to be abused. this is why I have pretty much stopped playing this game, the community is toxic and horrible, with a few precious exceptions. Yet we as players do nothing to remove this behavior from our game, nor do the GMs or Developers seem to do much more than "Well we can't tell you if we've done anything at all, due to privacy issues." I understand the legal issues for the devs and gm's so that avenue is somewhat limited, yet we as a community do NOTHING to curb this unwanted toxic attitude and culture. So until I can log into the game and enjoy an experience free of trolling and other offensive behavior I won't be spending any further money on this game. In fact, I am considering canceling my subscription as I get tired of feeling like I am the only person concerned about this. Please share your thoughts on this topic, give me hope that it's worth staying to enjoy a fandom that I have loved since it came out since 1977 and look forward to sharing with my children.
  9. Agreed, make them earn it but don't make it impossible either
  10. Despite many frustrating moments I have developed over time a deep love for GSF and fly whenever I can, usually solo but occasionally with a small group. I have flown with mainly PUGs rather than a set group, yet I notice a consistent pattern of the following things that make GSF hard to love most of the time. 1) Pilots not following instructions and generally poor teamwork skills in general 2) Pilots being abusive and domineering towards new players who are trying to figure out controls. 3) Denying players the opportunity to earn medals/requisition to "level" up their ships. 4) Spawn Camping and Triple Capping, both examples of poor sportsmanship in my humble opinion. 5) Continuing to "pile on the score" when the opposing team is clearly overmatched. Before you snark at me about being a "slang term for a woman's body part" I want you to consider this, would it kill you to allow those younger or less skilled pilots to win now and then? I don't want total equality in the outcome but simply in opportunity for all players and skill levels to be allowed to compete and be competitive. I do the same thing I tell new players to stick with the game within the game, to go read the forums and ask questions about GSF. I know that Bioware pulled the plug on further support for this but we can still keep it alive and fun for all. In short, follow this simple rule in all things in life "Don't be a Dick!!!" I fully expect to be mocked for expressing an opinion about how we as adults should act within our community here in SWTOR and GSF in general. But to those who read this and are encouraged to try GSF, welcome aboard. T'alis
  11. Yet again today I have logged on to enjoy some PvP and GSF as well as other game content. Only to find a raging discussion of scat fetishes and other lovely items in the Trade Chat. I am tired of constantly hitting the ignore or report button because someone wants to casually use real world racial, ethinic, or sexual oriented slurs at another player. Politely asking them to stop or take it to a private area is an exercise in futility. I understand that MMOs are notorious for such behavior and especially the RP servers seem to be the worst offenders. But Dev's please improve the reporting and correction of egregious player behavior. I have seen several players quit the game because of this excessive and toxic stew that is served almost constantly at the Fleet locations where players gather. I know I am NOT the only person who would love to show this game to their children as both their Mother and I are HUGE Star Wars geeks. Please let the GM's be more active in curbing, if only by publicly stating such language or inappropriate behavior will not be permitted. The in=game community is quickly becoming hostile to those of us who simply wish to enjoy the game. I really don't know what to do but to continue to try and set a good example and to report the worst offenders.
  12. I would like to thank you all for sharing but my opinion hasn't changed. I play daily GSF matches and when there is parity in the groups its a fun and worthwhile challenge. I don't hate a premade per se but what I do dislike intensely isn't that it about skill(s or tactics but about grabbing as many "aces" as you can pack on your team with maxed out ships. I love it when its "well your obviously not good enough" or "its part of paying your dues in pvp". I am not so foolish as do demand complete parity but I play mostly on the imperial side of the coin. I seem to keep getting groups with new to GSF and thus unprepared players. I play hard with and for my team no matter who the opponent is or how may "aces" they have. But I have spoken to several player(s) who want to enjoy it but when they try to find a comparable level of challenge to their limited time to play thus grind out ship(s) and components. It seems they like me draw a very skilled and extremely well equipped republic group as opponents. While loosing, sometimes badly so, is part of the learning curve. The domination of a group who shows up in match after match is disheartening. And the Developers should pay attention to the enjoyment of the game regardless of skill level of the player(s) involved. GSF and PvP for that matter shouldn't seem like a constant string of beatings just for the hope that you will be able to return the same to someone else down the road. I enjoy those matches where its close in terms of relative skill(s), equipment, and team chemistry. Those matches get my blood racing and I enjoy it immensely win or loose. But on the evenings when I get the same opponets 5 or 6 matches in a row, with the ace crew and maxed out ships it discourages me to want to play GSF at all. I don't want to be denied or have others feel discouraged in trying to have fun. I am just hoping that a few will read this and take heart that their frustration is noted and heard.
  13. I didn't say I didn't enjoy the idea or even when the matches are evenly competetive but I do NOT enjoy it when I am with a group that has mostly new ships. So you can say join a channel or you have fun or that I am somehow "doing it wrong". Your statement does nothing to discuss the issue only that you don't have a problem with it. That is nice for you but not so much for those who can't grind out a ship fast enough.
  14. I am beyond sick and tired of waiting for a GSF que to trigger only to find myself against a republic group with fully equipped ships. Its as though the developers want to punish you for daring to play Galactic Star Fighter matches. I enjoy pvp but not when its clear that no matter how hard I play or try to work with my team, I lose the match in a brutal fashion. This is the same problem in Unranked Warzones for PvP, I have seen too many pre-made raid groups in full ranked gear, dominating matches especially when the other team is not equally geared. This is a flaw that must be corrected if you wish this game to stand the test of time. I don't mind paying my dues but I do want an equal shot at winning, especially if you are going to allow the playing field to be so skewed to one side's favor. Either make it easier to grind out requisition points, i.e. let us gear up our ships faster or gate the GSF matches to ensure parity between the teams. It really isn't that hard and would make an awesome part of the game actually enjoyable.
