  1. All I can to this is... I was going to get a Razer SWTOR headset to replace the one that broke on me. There are several I looked at with about the same quality etc. The fact that the Razer headset came with a crystal I couldn't get any other way was the tipping point in its favor. And then the Rakghoul event happened a week before payday, and lo and behold, I no longer need to go buy the Razer one for the crystal. Why? Because even on a hi res screen, the color difference is so minor I gave myself a headache trying to see your 'subtle' difference. Yeah, sorry man, but there were already plenty of choices you guys could have gone with, blue black, red black, purple black, magenta black, cyan black, orange black, and those are just in game color crystals(or color+black variations) that are obtainable via purely in game methods. That would have been a much better option, and wouldn't have put a crunch on one of the hardware companies trying to support your brand, which your company, just undermined. Just my two cents, as a consumer. And yes, thanks to this, unless something changes, instead of getting the Razer headset I'll probably get a Steel Series. So Stephen, you can tell the guys that thought it was different enough to not impact Razer sales that in one case at least, it did.
  2. I wish a lot more gamers had this mentality Out of curiosity...which was your favorite story? And on topic...yeah, had a couple sound bugs yesterday, fixing to log in and see if whatever charlie foxtrot happened and the fixes for that also fixed my sound issues.
  3. This. Over a decade of playing MMO's, and honestly, forums are all the same. Lots of hate, lots of gnashing of teeth, lots of wailing and whining, tons and tons of trolling. Has nothing to do with how good/bad a game is. There will always be a percentage of any MMO population that feels a need to try and scream loudest, and then scream louder when their 'suggestions' and 'fixes' aren't acted on. The folks whose vote really matter tend to do it quietly, and do it by changing where they spend their money. It really is that simple. Personally, I think in the long run, EA/BW handing out the free 30 days is a calculated expenditure. They know folks that truly can't stand the game won't be swayed, their hope is that the folks who are on the fence will stick around because of the free 30 days and that they can prove that they can roll out content and fixes consistently like they said they would. If we get 1.3 before the majority of the on the fence folks would have to resub, and its good, how many do you think would sub for at least another month to give them a chance?
  4. Ya know, here is the thing. Even not being a West Coaster but living in the US, I play on a West Coast server because the server pop is higher during some of my available playtime (late nights here.) Even if they do chose to move up maintenance time permanently, I don't see it as an issue. There are other things to do than play SWTOR. Yes, its a good game. Over the course of a month, your talking about losing 8-10 hours of playtime. If you look at the amount of time logged on a character, in the grand scheme of things, that's nothing. Its time you can spend with family (although if you complain this much about stuff that really matters I can imagine you not being the favored son so to speak), friends, catching up on TV, reading a book, or catching up on sleep. Hell, go out and grab a drink at a bar and relax a little, might do you some good. All told you aren't losing much, and yet your making it out to be a huge issue. BW announcing this Tuesday put a huge dent in my plans for the week. I had planned on telling my wife I was pulling an all nighter in the man-cave tonight to try and level my guardian to 50 before the weekend. Well, that is not going to happen obviously. Oh...wait...even better, I can pull an all nighter Thursday night instead and still probably manage my 50 by the weekend. It is life, things don't follow some nice cheery script. Be an adult and deal with it like the rest of us. Or go ahead, get upset, complain, jack your stress level up like a child, the older you get though, the shorter that makes you life expectancy, stress is a killer, leads to heart attacks, strokes and mental break downs. Why do that to yourself, especially over a game?
  5. It seems that just because some other company does something, everyone has to do it. Kind of sad. I mean, it used to be that having a friend irl to play with was reward enough, now, no, that's not good enough, its "I'm doing (insert company name) a favor, I need something out of it." What, you don't enjoy playing with your friends, that enough of a reward? Maybe they should give you money for everyone you get to play? Except you'd eventually complain that they weren't giving you enough. Get over yourselves. If your enjoying the game, and you like it, you'd recommend it to your friends. When you talk good about a console game and your buddy goes out and buys it, you get jack squat. You tell your friends about the MMO your playing, you get to play with them. If that isn't enough, nothing they do will ever be enough, you will always want more.
  6. Some folks click. Some folks keybind. Some folks, I'm sure, do something different. Some people hybrid any or all of the above. As long as everyone is having fun, does it matter? It is a game, the point is to enjoy yourself and have fun. If how someone else chooses to play will affect your enjoyment, go play a single player game, you'll enjoy yourself more. If how they play doesn't affect your enjoyment, why be a jerk about how they play?
  7. Hard mode r hard? Sorry, had to say it before someone else did lol. No idea why they make some stuff like just getting the HM quest hard. The content should be whats hard, not getting the quest to get access to it. BW will hopefully change that at some point, maybe only making you do it the hard way once, just so they don't feel like they have useless content laying around, but but still improving the quality of life of the folks who sub to the game, since they (hopefully) want us to remain pseudo-happy subscribers.
  8. Mmmm, dude...have ever watched the Star Wars movies, maybe read a SW novel or two? Everyone has at least one sidekick/companion/minion/whatever who, in general, isn't a slouch. It may seem a little odd to you, but if you look at all the focus characters in whatever/movie/book/game you care to look at, none of them really go it alone (excepting, off the top of my head, the apprentice, but if they make jedi that powerful we'll just get world of glowbats). And as to the sith thing...well...your right, in the movies, the Sith don't have a companion...they tend to use armies. I think your complaint as far as sith goes should be "All the Sith from the fiction can hurl masses of troops and resources at the problems, I feel so gimp." I mean...seriously, how many Stormtroopers died just so Vader/The Emp could herd folks around...or bait a trap? Did they ever give an official count on how many Clone Troopers Palpatine had at his disposal for Order 66? Every SW movie made has so far been some form of buddy flick/mentor flick, set to space opera. Why would you want a game to change that, TOR heads far enough away from the SW feel as is...
  9. I've got a regular naga, that as soon as I find something I like well enough I plan on replacing lol. The Hex looks like it might be ok, but Razer mice tend to feel a little small and light in my hand. The extra buttons aren't bad, but even after a few months of using it the layout combined with its size just results me only using about 1/4 of them. TL;DR its not bad but it ain't perfect...my n52 however...god I can't wait to get a new one, wore my last one out finally, makes me a sad sad gamer.
