  1. To the guys saying it's an on/off switch - no it isn't. AntiAliasingLevel is just that, the level of anti-aliasing. I know this, as well as many others, who've also had to edit their ini files. I've tested mine on 2x, 4x and 8x and there is a noticable difference between all three settings. To the poster who said I was ignorant, it's the other way around I'm afraid. But hey, don't take my word for it, test it for yourself. Probably a good idea before making comments based on assumptions and guesswork.
  2. Sorry, but you are wrong. You can have 1x anti-aliasing. Check google if you want. You are saying Low is 2x and High is 4x but you are just guessing. The numbers are there for you to see in your own client_settings.ini file.
  3. So the long awaited in-game anti-aliasing is this: Off = 0 (as expected) Low = 0 (what? seriously? please explain the point of that) High = 1 (yep, a whopping 1x anti-aliasing) So it's back to forced AA and hacking ini files it seems. The mind boggles.
  4. I 100% second this. There is too much XP gain, especially if you do Heroics/Flashpoints/Space Combat on top of normal quests. And why more XP if in a group? Surely it should be less. A lot of players, like me, are completionists, so it would make sense to allow them to turn off XP at times in order to keep the content from becoming too easy (it's easy enough at the right level, never mind being over-level).
  5. Go into the game directory/swtor/retailclient/ and open with notepad client_defaults.ini In the [Renderer] section, add this line at the bottom: AntiAliasingLevel=4 AFAIK this doesn't break any file altering rules. Hopefully at official launch it will be enabled through the game preferences anyway.
  6. Sep. 26th here and just got my email! I think all the rest of the September crew will be today, so you 30th guys should be okay. Have fun playing the game all...
  7. Odered the game on day one, but my code was registered on 26th Sep. Hoping to be in today, but realistically I think it will likely be tomorrow.
  8. The first suggestion I have for the Suggestion Forum is to have a Technical Forum, cos they don't have one of those either.
  9. Please read my post again. I'm not talking about why he's in and I'm not - I realise I will be in later than him. What I'm talking about is a much narrower margin of a week or thereabouts. He registered on 27th July. John Doe registered on 23rd July but still can't play yet.
  10. Ok, so my brother is in the game playing now. He just rang me to ask if I could get in yet, which I can't, but I did register my pre-order code about a month after he did. But, he didn't register his code until 27th July, yet he is playing the game while others registered before then and still haven't had an email. So it this first come first served system randomly picking people from 'blocks' of one week at a time or something rather than truly being in the exact order?
  11. Okay, thanks. I think I'll go with your advice. When my disk arrives, I'm gonna uninstall the game, manually cleaning up any files and folders still remaining, then reinstall and update from fresh.
  12. Mine was shipped today for delivery tomorrow. I'm in the UK and bought the standard edition.
  13. I can't see a technical forum, so I guess this thread goes here. I have 1.7 gigabytes of data sitting inside two folders named "betatest". One folder is in the main installation directory and the other is inside my username/appdata/local folder. So I'm asking if it's safe to delete these folders as it just seems a waste of disk space if they are no longer required?
