  1. Ok so i read 8 pages of replies and here is my take. 1. I saw this coming so no surprise. Only a bit of disappointment, seeing as how much I've invested (Cash and time) and no real idea what that investment is going to look like in a few months. By investment I mean two copies of the Special Digital edition, and monthly sub for both since day one. 2. What will this mean if I choose to go F2P do I lose all the invested time on all of my level 50's with the gear and bag slots and everything else? So what does a downgrade look like BW? What happens to those of us who will stay but go F2P? I'd like some more details. I know everyone who loves this idea is unconcerned by the F2P economics but seriously have any of you played a F2P before? I don't mean a game that was F2P from the get go I mean one that had to downgrade. Yes I know STO is doing fine, but DC universe not so much. LOTRO is meh and so is DDO. So back to the investment thing all in all I kinda feel ripped off, dropping the software price to $14.99 in the first year and going F2P makes me feel like I paid for beta, empty servers, crowded servers, forced migration, buggy software, and broken patchers. I've yet to feel like I have gotten my moneys worth and I honestly feel the F2P decision is the last kick in a desperate effort to bump up their server populations. I've had my say, I'll be around but... not paying for it.
  2. This right here. Everything they have done with the transfers has been backasswards it seems like they keep putting the cart in front of the horse and refuse to admit they've got it wrong, no matter how bad things look.
  3. Nobody forced us true. But Bioware suggested it often as a solution for overcrowding in December and as a solution for Ghost towns in April. So no it wasn't forced but BW should have KNOWN that re-rolls and separated toons was going to be a HUGE issue and it is one of the few things they haven't planned for.
  4. On the day you force my toons on to laggy overloaded servers one of which has wait times on week nights is the day I walk. My whole guild has already quit but I've been patient hoping for the best. So fix the overcrowding, lag and wait time issue and I'll be happy to keep paying for this although I still want my separated toons merged (we are only talking 6 lots total so no reason this shouldn't happen and if the only way to merge is to do a paid transfer well, to hell with that to.
  5. This right here. It is a mechanic to prevent power leveling. It is also standard mmo procedure. I know you said you played WoW but don't remember the 5 level limit. in early WoW it could be brutal, you might be able to handle regular mobs 4-5 levels above you, one at a time but never a group of them. Elites and higher there was just no way you could even stand toe to toe let alone kill them. Now just so you know there is a change coming to the industry I feel, this change makes the level mechanic unnecessary since the mechanic for combat is skill based rather than level based. The difference is that at higher levels you get more combat moves. Secret World is about half way there and it is very cool. GW2 is going there for World PvP, level 1 or level 50 it doesn't matter you can all hit each other and do damage. Until then though we have a leveling and combat mechanic that works as designed.
  6. Heavier pop suervers were crashing all on their own anyways, all I can figure is that the servers had destabilized to the point it was just a matter of time before they cascaded, still an in game message would have been welcome.
  7. Come on back to your old servers... I'm still playing on Master Zhar Lestin and it's working fine... no lag even
  8. Just because you log in at an optimum time missing the queues and are willing to accept laggy issues doesn't mean we should accept it. I am always amazed how people are willing to pay decent money for ****** service. If you go to a restaurant and order a $15.00 meal and it arrives a little late (so it is not piping hot), the waiter ignores you and they forgot your appetizer are you going to complain? Or would you just pay the bill and tip the waiter handsomely. Your response above tells me you would,
  9. Uh I think the point is Amazon is selling at $19.99 and that is crazy money and a huge difference.
  10. How about BW should have upgrade the Server hardware BEFORE they overloaded them. I have an excellent connection FIOS with 300 mbps is about as good as it gets. The issue is in BWs camp. I love how dumb *** people are willing to pay for ****** customer service. Also if you had read the entire thread some of this has to do with the poorly thought out process they put in place. How about shutting it fan boy.
  11. OK so here goes a fully formed reply, It is insane that BW is still asking us to transfer to servers that are overloaded, laggy and have wait times on occasion. Their initial problems with server load balancing (when all of the original servers from early entry) were overloaded, laggy and had wait times their solution was to .... wait for it... Re-roll on a different server with less lag and wait times. Never mind that you had a fully formed 50 and a couple of toons in the middle of Act 2, never mind that you are sacrificing all the credits and friends you had on that server. So fine my son and I moved to another server with lower loads and a few friends from a former guild I had belonged to and we began again, never mind that they release a legacy system that would have been great if my two sets of toons from two servers could share this legacy together. Flash forward a few more months and due to lack of end game for some (not me I am enjoying exploring all the different stories), the lousy CS, the bugs, patcher issues and overall apathy and the servers now have exactly the opposite problem. They are ghost towns. What is BWs solution? Transfers. Which is awesome, I'll get to move my toons and maybe merge the accounts (BW did say they had Legacy merge worked out so I had hope). Transfers are finally announced and both of my dead servers are selected to transfer... to two different servers. Hrmmm OK maybe they will let us merge eventually after the rush is done. Oh wait did I mention I went to the destination servers to check their status, made a new toon and leveled it up a bit... sigh lag, sigh one night I gotta wait to log in ***? OK I'm not moving BACK to the old issues that made me abandon my first set of toons in the first place. So BW CS rep... is this detailed enough to pass the anti spam act...
  12. I know I have seen this question before and one of the more salient answers I saw was: These planets also happen to be the quest zones for level 10-18 , the datacron assembly planets and the location of the legacy vendors. Making it the hub would increase the lag and make it more difficult for those there to quest do what they need to do. Now I love the idea from a story perspective so here is a suggestion, why not make a hub destination on the Prime planets (Cor and Kaas) that is in a different instance that also connects to the Fleet and make the Fleet the primary Flash Point, Ops and Warzone launch points this would break the spaces into smaller chunks that would remain lag free.
  13. Sigh I hadn't heard that Lucas said no more Wookie Jedi, every once in awhile I think his choices are a bit dubious and douchy. Once he allowed Wookie into the canon as Jedi I suppose it makes sense to have no more going forward but seeing as how we are about 3k years before Lowbacca I see no reason to let it happen. Anyways pointless conversation, if they gives us Wookie as playable, Legacy ensures I will have Wookie Jedi and Smugglers
