  1. I could be completely mistaken, but from our understanding, he seems to hit for a sort of "true magic" damage (for lack of a better way to describe it) He actually hits dps for the same amount as he hits a tank with his attacks, ontop of that, shields and avoidance dont work anyway, so the only reason to have a tank on him is threat and shear HP. Mercenaries (i realise they cant taunt) actually take the least damage i believe, cus they have most damage reduction from talents. So aslong as the dps can taunt, it should be ok. And as said previously, assasins(shadows) can even take an enraged pylon landing on their head purely with their 5 sec magic immunity, so if u have 2 of them, you can go on forever

I find this bug nothing more than an annoyance tbh, We found it "odd" that he kept going for thehighest threat dps for no reason, but a simple taunt fixes the problem entirely anyway, still did it first attempt. Theres hardly any damage going on in phase 3, its pretty much impossible to wipe. Even when he is enraged theres no risk of any body dying. Edit. To clarify why it is near impossible to wipe. If you coincidentally have 2 assasins in your Group (they dont have to even be a tank) and you rotate them taunting the boss and taking the enraged pylons falling on their head with force shroud on, they wont ever die if u can outheal his enraged auto attacks . Therefore. since he never despawns, you can go on forever . Our first ever 16-man NM kill was only 9 people alive in phase 3
  3. Personally, i find the best tank healers are mercenaries, but maybe thats just from a tanks perspective
  4. All i am going to add to this thread is. If you hit enrage timers on anything. You are doing it wrong. I personally like enrage timers, both hard and soft, and frankly, there is no difference in the two in my opinion. In both cases, if you take too wrong, you die. You want a healer challenge? Karagga 16 Nightmare.
  5. We havent had a single issue(bug) with the pylons for a couple of weeks after we found a way to fix it for "us" but that doesnt mean it will work for you guys. Also, maybe 16-man is less buggy than 8-man, ya never know This is our way of doing it. Not a fact of how you should do it 1) Always do the shortest possible way 2) Always finish south first 3)-NEVER- have a big gap between soth and north pylons finishing(Always wait for the north to have 1 click left before finishing south) 4) In the event that you wipe (we do it on nightmare) make sure none of the sides are locked(finished) then they will reset and you wont have to clear trash 5) If doing it on nightmare, CC all the mobs that spawn from 1 of the 3 sides, kill the mobs than spawn from the other 2. We usually end while the first Acklay is spawned
  6. Well he does miss you alot, and deflection (50% avoidance) Definately increases my parry/avoidance chance. His attacks go through Force shroud which leads me to believe his attacks are not magical. However, even if it was, it should still proc your shields. Other spells do Its healable regardless, im just curious why
  7. If its any conselation. Hard mode and nightare mode do not have this issue with loot, and your master looter will work perfectly fine.
  8. I cannot believe i have never noticed this before. But how come shields do not work on SoA? Is this an intended mechanic? They proc on spells and ranged attacks of other types, either from players or other bosses(karagga, for example) so why not on Soa, a bug? Its just that the better geared i get, the more average damage i take on SoA because the tanking set keeps ignoring defense and going for absorption or shield rating (To clarify, i am an assasin tank). And ftr, i found this out because my shield charges never go down, but i didnt pay attention to it until now At this point im probably better off tanking 16-man NM SoA in a random set of High defense gear. And ignore rakata all together ;/
  9. I dont see why you wouldnt heal anyway. All the flashpoints, with the exception of the foundry(which is still doable, but hard), are EASILY healable by a dps specced sorceror/sage I, personally, heal every instance im in on my consular alt, and im also specced TK. Saves so much time looking for a group Obviously its different at 50, but im assuming you are not 50 from reading your post
  10. The key to the boss is the adds. The adds are what does the damage. Alone/seperate they barely do anything, But gathered up they buff each other. I cannot remember what the bonus was, but their buff was cumulative. like 50% increased damage for every add nearby(something like that anyway). I think it even effected the boss. So you pretty much had to kill the adds asap before they gathered up. then once they are down, back to the boss
