  1. The answer is always 4, with a mustache.
  2. ...looks at EAs history.....looks at SWTOR......slowly backs away.
  3. My play breaks down something like this now. 60% Running/travel 25% Gearing, re-gearing, crafting for myself and comp and training 10% Watching cut scenes 5% Fighting I appreciate being able to run the story quests for Exp and level that way, but for me it seems to accentuate all the reasons I left the game in the first place I just feel like I spend most of my time managing this game, instead of playing it. Really my biggest complaint.
  4. It turns out to be a wash really. You're a tiny bit slower on easy mobs, which die quickly anyway, but much more survivable on tough fights. You can live through stuff that would have killed you before. Normal mobs die fast enough with any spec, I actually found leveling as a healer to be easier in the long run.
  5. Won't somebody please think of the children?!?!?!?!?
  6. Haven't played in years, coming back, wondering what the current meta is. From reading so far looks like sorcs got nerfed into oblivion, and BH is good?
  7. One of the major reasons I quit, was because of how bogged down, repetitive, and boring leveling became in the 40s+. This change has brought me back to resub. I'm sure a lot of people feel that way, and I'm sure that was a big part of the motivation to implement this. This allows me to play through *all* of the class stories, which are far and away the best thing about the game. At the very least it will keep me subbed for a few months, which is better off than what they had from me, which was the game being uninstalled. This game has been limping along for a long time, I applaud them for doing something meaningful enough to actually entice people to come back.
  8. Nah, posting at 50% less, driving the market down, buying them all up, and then reselling them even higher....now that's a move. You're dealing with amateurs. Amateurs dude, you want a toe? I can get you a toe.
  9. Because of the way experience is structured (i.e. crap exp for grinding mobs), being able to skip large parts of the content to get to the rewards is actually a huge speed help. I really really wish they would increase per mob exp on kills.
  10. I'm going to go with, 'your skills are untrained' as my guess. Same thing happened to me. Logged in, fought for a while before I figured out that I had no leveled skills.
  11. Given the participants, I'd bet good money they are trying to make a star wars COD.
  12. Just cancelled. Game has been largely unplayable since I re-subbed. Even at the times it is technically playable, it's a miserable experience. You're running a sub based game, in a free to play world. Given that, if your game doesn't run pretty much perfectly, you are in a lot of trouble. With the number of choices available on the market, a sub game that is largely unplayable for a month +....well, I wouldn't like to be in those shoes. Shame, this could be a fun game if it played well.
  13. This implies that anything in this game takes skill, is difficult, or requires higher than a 1st grade education to understand. None of those things are true. Do people that PvP on anything other than what they feel is the best class feel like idiots for doing so?

    Fotm ftw!!

Here's a handy guide, so it won't take you 3 years to figure out the best class in the next MMO you play. ADD ONE POINT TO YOUR TOTAL IF: 1. Class can attack at range 2. Class can heal itself 3. Class can shield itself 4. Abilities can be cast on the move (1 point per ability) 5. Ability to AOE effectively 6. Ability to burst 7. Ability to sustain 8. Stealth 9. Heavy Armor 10. CC break abilities (1 point per) 11. Stuns (1 point per) 12. Roots 13. Snares 14. Incapacitate (sleep, mez, whathaveu) SUBTRACT ONE POINT IF: 1. Melee 2. No meaningful self heal 3. No on demand shielding 4. Ability requires you to stand still (-1 point per, and an additional 1 point per second for channeling/cast time) 5. Bad or no AOE 6. Bad or no burst 7. Bad or no sustain 8. Actions that require a build up time (rage, sta, etc, much better to have on demand burst than have to build resource) 9. Light Armor 10. No CC break, (-1 point for every CC that can be cast on you with no skill to clear) 11. No stun 12. No root 13. No snare 14. No hard CC (mez, sleep, paralyze). Add up the totals, apply to any PvP game ever made, voila. The reason I picked Sorc at launch.
  15. An exp boost is the opposite ....doing endless boring, repetitive side quests to crawl along in level, especially once you've already done them, .....now that's dumb. If this game was engaging to play outside of the class stories, you might have a point, but you don't. This game is like watching paint dry trying to level. I just came back a couple of weeks ago, and am about to bail due to the sheer boredom of trying to grind out levels doing stupid fetch quests or kill X number of Y quests. At some point you have to face the fact that this game is a very mediocre MMO outside of the class stories, which are the only thing that really shine. If I could level every class by doing nothing but the class stories, I'd stick around to do that, because I enjoy them. I'd be much more likely to stick around long term once I had a bunch of max level characters, because I also enjoy PvP and end game raiding. MMOs have been around a very long time now, and a lot of people (myself included) have had more than enough of the MMO level grind 101.
