I'm on canderous ordo...and the game just froze up on me, so I restarted my client and now it refuses to let me onto that character or any other character (because it thinks I'm still logged on to him)...

the problem is we have to match the smuggler...

why in the world would you think the "bad guys" would be the less played faction?

could you imagine 50+ levels of that? Especially considering the VO's are a huge selling point for them...do you think they're gonna put effort into anything that they can't use that with? the same goes with having a droid "translating". It really isn't about the other characters understanding them as much as it is about the fact that voices are tied to class/gender (and the fact that most people don't wanna listen to growls for hundreds upon hundreds of hours)...so a male Wook BH is going to have to sound exactly like a male human BH...and even if they change that, I still couldn't see them doing it.

I think the biggest thing about races (and why I can at least partially excuse them for their kind of pathetic list of available races at this point) is that they *have to* be able to speak unbroken galactic basic because of the voice acting. This means no Wookies because they physically cannot speak galactic basic. This means most of the other slightly more alien races are out because their galactic basic is so broken (if they can speak it) that it would just be jarring to have them speaking like the other races do. There are some races, however, that would make sense for them to add...my personal choice would be either Mon Cal (not sure if their galactic basic is clear enough though) or Bothans

Yeah. I've only started following him since the Cata beta stuff but I've enjoyed his work immensely. To each his own, I guess.
