  1. wrote a bunch of stuff with the timeless fallacy that "everybody plays a game the way I play it because I'm so mainstream." read L33T... You're wrong- completely wrong. YOU have the elitist adventurer mentality. Do you pose at transition spots with your gear? If you want to prove yourself wrong just go read the crewskill forums and this thread about people complaining about useless crafting....
  2. So warzone comms cap at 1000 It would have been nice to have some sort of notice of a system message or something. Cheers
  3. why not just remove the biochem skill "use" requirement? why do devs always go to the nerf bat instead of making things right?
  4. But then it wouldn't feel like a console game..... Lucas Arts pulled the plug on a great Star Wars Galaxy system.....
  5. Over 14 years ago a game called Ultima Online put forth an entire seemless, endless world. You can walk and sail around the entire map over and over. Trust me, shooting for that little island 10 minutes away can turn into an hour of circumnavigating the globe. So like offline life it's a good idea to take a compass out on your boat. You'd probably like EQ2 also as it has voice over acting with 1,700 actors totaling over 130 hours ingame real time/ without cut scenes...
  6. yeah I mean shadows are cool when they first came out as a lover of games and being old enough to go through the advent of home computers but it's a "luxury" I play without in all my games. I'm eyeballing a quad-core Mb combo - watching the prices on pricewatch.com - was just telling a friend, one can buy 8gb DDR3 cheaper than 4gb DDR2 so it's mostly a no brainer to get the Quad combo and ddr3. I think the last price I saw was about $219 for the combo I guess in sort of hi-jacking the thread I'd also like to say thank-you to all the nice people in the thread- it shows that we do have good people in this community
  7. Yeah prol so, but it was a huge upgrade from a ATI x750 and for only $15
  8. honestly I will have to agree with most posters here... I'm in your same boat and the game is running fine for me with max settings/ no shadows. I'm pretty sure I'm running slow in the loading/zoning process. Athlon 64 x2 dual 5600+ 2.89 mhz 4Gb Ram GT 520 that I picked up from Fry's after rebate for $15. In beta I was getting whiteout screens on my ATI cards. So like me I think you should save any monies and put it towards the new system. I honestly don't think you have anything to "upgrade" that would show noticable improvement with the exception of maybe video and if you plan on buying one with the new system then go ahead with that for now. I think it was a 240 that I got from Bestbuy for beta and used until my 520's came in. But I can't say that there's a big noticable difference between those two cards, but the $35 x2 savings there sure was! Oh MB is ECS 7050-M which runs GE-force chipset
  9. I would say the cost scales with the level is one of my points. There is no credits saved if you gather your own mats, hence one of my above points. The level 8 was just one example- I've done it up through the levels. You also can send the blues to an alt for them to RE. If the above post is true about no level Req on the epics then what really is then the issue is minimal more than I thought. Oddly you have to wade through the lower levels to get to epic to not have a biochem req, lol GG design team.
  10. I'm not so sure about that. I crafted up about 80 self/Companion stims for lvl 8 req. I mailed them off to a new char and when she hit level 8 it was game on. I got through my main story line and obtained my ship @ level 12 7/8 if it weren't for the crewskill training xp stealth nerf I would have been level 13. So it's not like they cost a fortune to make and honestly here's a tip... In my experience on 3 servers you can buy stims from the market and reverse them for mats cheaper than you can run missions @ low levels. I would say anyone in a guild or that is willing to make a Biochem capable char could make all that's needed and mail them to non biochem chars. Like what I did. Why should biochem get a nerf because people don't want to "play the game" they just want to play A game? New generation mmo games are geared for the adventurers. God forbid you would actually go out in the world and gather materials. But because that takes time from the adventurers game play they want nerfs or design to give them all the same goods/gear. Just look at the above posts about useless crafted gear. I mean why even have crafting in a game. It's like designers these days sit around and say hey if there isn't any crafting we won't get subs so let's put in SOME SORT of crafting, it doesn't have to be truly useful. I don't think it's a credit problem I think it's like the LFG tool issue. People are just looking for fast and simple with a single "be all", "push the I win" button character. I guess this is what "mmo's" have come to since they were made to appeal to the console players. /stepsOffSoapBox oh and by the way- I'm mostly an adventurer...
  11. If this has been in all the time I don't know how I missed it, but today for the first time I noticed player characters and npc's making noises when being attacked. I first noticed it in a WZ when attacking a female sith sorc and could hear her screaming and making noises when hit and upon death. and I didn't make any changes to sound.
  12. Just one of the meta games I like to play... Now gated to the newbie planet by story line I was very surprised to find the crewskill trainer's xp cut in half when I got to the Starfleet after getting off the starter planet. That left me almost a level behind my usual point in time so I worked out the 2nd planet and left in my ship at about 7/8 to level 13. I probably would have made 13 except I forgot to log out in a rest zone yesterday. Having ran a couple more level 1 chars to the Starfleet I guess this came in stealth in the last mini patch. Was there also another little warzone xp nerf?
  13. That's what I did - dropped cybertech, scav and slicing in 250ish You need certain materials from Diplomacy to craft in Biochem. Not all reusables are bound - I made some on my first char and sent them to my second char that had dropped 250 slicing and went to Biochem so he could use the good reusable stims. It's pretty stupid game wise and crafting economy wise to have reuasables let alone make it a Biochem level requirement to use the reusables. - maybe that's what you meant, that the reusables are only usable by certain levels of biochemists?
