Iam only up to 300 UWT and have gotten tons of schematics o.0 you guys are doing it wrong I guess They're all custom btw, and so far, only for synth/armor. No armstech schematics yet.

Yes. I cant seem to RE the lvl30 ones either, so I'm guessing it only opens up on higher lvl grens. Or its a bug o.0 dunno

Great guide! Most of it can be applied to Synthweave and Armstech too! The eternal question, whether straight up crafted or custom gear with mods is the way to go, should be seen in perspective to crafting costs as well. At least while leveling. Imagine you have a full set of custom gear and want to reach the same amount of stats offered by an artifact tier 2 item. You not only need a different professions for that (cybertech/artifice), but also a much greater amount of artifact crafting material. I'm armstech, and I have gotten up to lvl40 on my main character. I managed to RE quite a few prototype (blue) craftables into artifact quality schematics. And here is the catch. You only need 2 of the purple compounds for weapons. Even barrels require 4. Armoring.. 4. Mods... 4. Enhancements... 4. So using a custom chest armor and pitting it against a ready-to-go lvl35 crafted artifact one displays very well how much more effort it is to reach the same stats. Sure, as it was pointed out, the stat distribution might be off for trainer-bought schematics, but there are indeed ALOT of schematics out there to be found. Many of them, especially for armstech, are just very rare. Personally, I'm a fan of artifact gear while leveling. If you equip them right at the lvl-requirement they boost your stats and prowess immensely, and additionally, net you the same quantity of stats as blue prototype gear 4 or 5 levels higher than your purple item.

I've asked that question before for armstech. No clue, but I guess you can't learn schematics for the random armor and weapons you find. So far I've never gotten one at least.

Armstech schematics are rare. I am Underworld trading on my twink and ONLY gotten synth/armormech custom recipes. Are there even custom weapon schematics in a similar fashion? However, investigation does yield some schematics at times. As a lvl39 with ~350 in investigation, I just got two lvl39 BlasterPistole schematics in a row. Seemed like a fluke though Also, your Inv is not bugged. You need to progress to ~80 or 100 or so to unlock the next tier.

Much like Vibroknifes, there is either a bug that prevens you from learning prototype and up schematics.. OR it is intentional that you can't advance those weapons. The fact that there are prototype scatterguns and vibroknifes dropping in the wild indicates a bug. And a very annoying one at that. I'm a Scoundrel and an artifact Scattergun would benefit me ALOT, however, due to this "bug" or feature w/e, I have to resort to green shotguns.

I really enjoy Armstech and crafting in TOR in general. The randomness when discovery a new schematic from RE is thrilling and fun. Getting that purple ingredient from your mission once a day or so is fun too! But the reports of it being completely obsolete at 50 (for now at least) really bumms me out right now I agree that BW follows WoW way too much on certain aspects.

Hi, I asked the question before, but couldnt get a clear or verifiable answer. Does anybody know if you can learn Prototype scatterguns from RE-ing premium ones? So far I had no luck whatsoever, unlike for other schematics like blasters and barrels. Also, does every droppable premium/prototype weapon (Trandoshan, Balmorean etc.)have a chance to become learnable through RE-ing? I've had no luck on that part either. Regards!

To be honest, I think they should've abandoned the WoW-esque Trade system. Why can't I trade with the Empire? Pretty much like the neutral AHs in WoW, nobody uses them. The most annoying thing is that I can't send stuff to my twink that is on the other faction -_- WHY did BW have to copy so much rom WoW, WHY?

Hello, I read the crafting guides and the in-depth RE guide as well, but couldnt find an answer to this. If I find a random green weapon, RE-ing it seems to yield nothing more than desh or silica, even though they are way higher lvl (lvlreq 15+). Also, can you gain the schematic to craft said items? Example: just found a lvl19 Cerean Factory-pressed Snipe (Sniperrifle). Is there a chance to aquire the schematic for it through RE-ing? Thanks in advance.
