  1. You can confirm it by opening your character screen while under level 10 and your presence stat is well over a hundred (much like your primary class stat).
  2. How is this going to work now? Can you race change at 49 and then ding 50 and get the species unlock? If you race change at 50 do you lose the legacy unlock? Or will unlocks only recognize a char you created that has leveled from 1 to 50?
  3. Not even talking about lightsabers to represent different size blades, I have always felt that the lightsabers in the game seemed a tad too long and didn't perfectly match the length of the sabers in the movies. They just seem too long to me. Could just be my own bad analysis and remembering the movie, I never actually tried to analyze movie frames vs SWTOR. Was hoping this thread was about that, but maybe I am just crazy.
  4. They must have done their poll on Reddit, because that is the only place where I think cats will win every contest. Bleh. Also, I am going to try this business model in my personal life. Give people something they don't ask for and tell them they better buy it or I won't ever create the product they actually want from me. Pizza place: Oh you don't like my new topping that I invented? Tofutti? Well if you don't buy pizzas with this topping, we will never give you a pizza with bacon on it.
  5. Thank you kindly for video link. That was helpful. Subtle differences but different for sure.
  6. Greks are definitely still on my server's GTN. Before Besh came out, I had found one forum thread that said Aureks were the lights, and Greks were the lasers (and the preview of the Grek was broken showing just a light and that they were also bugged showing silver cartel icon instead of gold like that should be, unconfirmed). If Beshs are now lasers too, what is the difference between Besh and Grek (other than one is gold market icon and one isn't)...
  7. I guess you are right, I must have missed the vote.
  8. I am finding it hard to believe that there is all these statistics backing up your claims and disproving mine. I don't see a small percentage saying they would like alien gibberish, because I don't even know what a small percentage means. The fact that forums posts exist means there is some amount of people that is really undetermined. I also am not polled on the phone for my opinion and I suspect the rest of you aren't either, so where is this data collection happening if it is leading to design decision why can't they simply show us that data? I am still not sure where the Cathar number is either? Some forum poll on a fan site? GMAFB EDIT - I also suspect Cathar were the top species that they were willing to do. Because I find it pretty hard to believe Wookiees or Jawa weren't tops of those types of polls. So once again they are only willing to give us what they are willing to give us...
  9. Logic for you: They told us we don't want to listen to an alien speak through the story. I = part of we I want to be an alien, I am fine with alien gibberish... I have capability to read subtitles. My biggest gripe is being told how to play the game, that isn't their job to tell me that (even worse claiming they have secret data that they won't show us, or maybe that's just you claiming they have oodles of feedback backing this up. I am getting you and Bioware mixed up at this point). Its our job to play the game in a way that is fun for us.
  10. You sound like someone who listened to and enjoyed being told how to play Everquest by Brad McQuaid. Because it is The Vision and it cannot be questioned. You ever notice how developers always tell us how we should play their game because even our player feedback supports their opinions yet we never see any data regarding our own feedback? We are told we would not like to listen to aliens or read subtitles, yet some percentage of the playing population has declared on the forums that they would (and sure a large number don't post but I am not sure we can guarantee their opinion would be they don't)... I don't like being told what I would enjoy or not and every species option is a choice. I will choose not to make a Cathar but I'd like the choice to be a non Basic speaking alien just like someone who doesn't want alien language in their ears can choose not to play a non Basic speaking alien. See how options work? And nobody can prove that it would be harder to make a non Basic alien, pretty sure its obvious its an easier addition (and money maker for them).
  11. Or you could refuse to group with alien species and show your true colors as a Speciest.
  12. Starting this thread again since we are getting a species that I dislike and would like more options (I hate Cathar, I hate Aric Jorgan). I am a bit confused why Bioware is telling us what we would like in a playable race. I am perfectly fine reading subtitles for my character and I don't mind listening to alien species talk in gibberish. On side quests, I already know their deal, so I spacebar them often. Why would it be hard to add this? Make the aliens Cartel unlocks only if you don't want to "force" them onto players as expansion content.
  13. Thanks to you two, this info helped...
  14. I don't understand difference between these two blaster pistols. Is Besh just the bug fix for Grek in that it correctly has the gold cartel market icon?
  15. Yeah I checked out the spot I thought he was referring to, the other room where you don't get that last tusk/bone for the bonus quest stage 3. I did not see the overlord either.
