  1. In order for polls to be accurate they need a random sample. To get that you would have to be able to get a random sample of the people who play the game not the people who post on this forum, two very different populations. There is also a lot of narcism around here. I personally quit for reasons not pertinent here but I never thought I represented the norm, much less the majority. To do so without any data to back that up either way is delusional thinking. It'd be like saying I hate Macdonalds, which I do by the way, so everyone else must hate Macdonalds and they be closing all of their doors within the month. It's just wishful thinking and no matter how much you want it it's not going to come to pass.
  2. I know this is a silly topic but my subscription time almost up and I’m curious enough to make it my last thread. I know the game doesn’t make its money on subscriptions, too few of us for that, but on micro transactions through the cartel market. You would think they would make the game much harder to encourage people to buy items off the Cartel Market to make the game eaiser but they keep making game easier and more streamlined, great for players but bad for the bottom line. The fact that this is an AAA MMORPG, with all the monthly costs that go along with that, shows this game is making Bioware/EA a LOT of money, otherwise they would have closed shop years ago but I can’t figure out how.
  3. This. For the record I think almost all the changes are positive ones that are going to make the game much better and far more assessable to far larger audience. Level synch is really exciting example of 4.0 potential greatness. All of the combat changes over the years have made us godlike to the 1.0 mobs and bosses and killing everything in a couple seconds isn't fun it just isn't. Like reboots for comics I honestly believe far more people are going to jump on than people like me who decide to quit. IMO the best days of this game are ahead of it. I’m not arrogant enough to think just because I quit something it’s going to fail institutions don’t work like that. The in/game reason why I quit was this one change despite the fact that everything else sounds awesome. My sole interest in Swtor are the class stories so I crafted purple schematics for every Cybertech armoring, ear pieces, and mods, Biochem implants, stims, adrenals and mepacs for all four stats. It all my schematics had been converted to the mastery stat that would be one thing but I have no interest in starting over. That might be petty I guess would be the word but it how I honestly feel. The out of game reason why I quit is that a pet peeve of mine is when adults react like children especially when to loss which is where Swtor comes in for me. A lot of you are far younger than me so not being far removed from childhood it might not be a big deal when a 16 year old reacts to events as a 10 year old would it might even be funny but when a 40 year old does it the thing just sad. I don’t want to be that guy the grown man reacting on the forum like a ten year old so I'm getting out before I make a fool of myself over a game of all things. I was really hoping to leave the game on a positive note to reflect the wonderful time for the hundreds if not thousands of hours I put into the game so again thank all of you for making that possible in-game and on the forum. I wish all of you the best in the game and in life in general. Lester
  4. Well that's it I guess. The world came to an end for crafting so I unsubbed, deleted the game and and this will be my last post. Everyone been so generous with their time and knowlege so I wanted to thank all of you especially the crafters online. The smart play would be to keep all your secrets to yourself and not give anything to the competition but everyone so generous here with information it was really somtething special. Again thank all of you.
  5. No. Armoring got moved to two different crew skills. Cybertech is getting enhancements. Artifice doesn't make Rellics anymore but that was from a yellow dev post rather than the official blog post. Also I don't think anyone making mods anymore but again that was from a Dev post which I might have misread I don't want to give out false information I hate it when people do that.
  6. I think that the customer service forum become read-only archive is a very bad sign. Maybe they are simply replacing it with something else but yea bad sign.
  7. When I unsubscribed today this was the reason I gave. I felt like I owed them the truth but actually reading what I wrote I came across as a baby mad about my toys taken away even though they were replaced by other toys. At least I was positive about it, I think the devs are going for the casual MMO palyer, if such a demographic exists and I hope they find it. They are working so hard and are so ambitious about everything, even if I'm not a part of it I hope it pays off big for all concerned.
  8. They are relaunching the whole game as much as they can but on a budget. I have seen no game press on any of the changes if they are counting on viral marketing to launch the rebirth of the game they are in for a shock.
  9. I'm about to unsubscribe right now. I'm not just a fan of the game but the posters and gamers. If someone could ask for my stuff that would feel great as that line never gets old and is a time honored traditional proper sendoff for veteran players. I want mine.
  10. If this happened to you OP try opening a ticket. I doubt they will help you but it's free to do so and who knows you might get someone sympatheic on the other side.
  11. It's fine. Crafting is going to be optional now like Warzones, Flashpoints, Starfighter. You can do it if you like it but there no real payoff anymore. Doesn't matter there are still enough people to make a go for all those things if you are interested and if not you can still beat the game with minimal effort which is why I do all those things for the challange.
  12. Isn't there suppose to be a warning if you are about to make a really big purchase? I feel for anyone that fallen prey to this. Can't tell you how many times the warning message I got for almost sending wrong credits/items to an alt. One time was for a brand new toon which represented every credit I had in the game. Wait I just had an idea. I think I've done this. I use the same tactics as stores do instead of charging 20 dollars I'll label it as 19.99. I always price my mats in the middle of the pack though so I don't think I tricked anyone into thinking they were paying twenty when I was asking for two thousand.
  13. Aside from the fact that learned schematics are going to be useless the stream informed us that stuff getting moved around. We will know more in a blog post but, and this is hypothetical, armorings and mods won't be crafted by Cybertech but oh say Armotec. They are giving us all blue schematics to start so I don't mind so much but no way am I starting a new toon until I know what crafts implants, armoring, mods and enhancements as all four are must haves for me not buy anything in the game besides rellics and augments both on GTN. When I start up the game again, a couple years from now as I'm burned out, I'm going to have the equilvent of everything I know now which again isn't a big deal because we get all blues. I will miss my purple schematics but honestly blue fine.
  14. Doesn't everyone leave at some point? Come back sure but leave. This is a great game I don't see how players not get burned out over time. I know I'm getting ready to leave not because I hate anything about 4.0 most of it sounds amazing just that i'm burned out.
