  1. Are you talking about the stats being wrong at Ask Mr. Robot? They may have fixed the issue since I've used it. I keep checking back to see if it is up to date and a bit ago I remember some issues with that. With no tools to extract the stats directly from the game they are bound to get some of it wrong eventually is my point. Even if Bioware could just release some tools so sites like Ask Mr. Robot had an easier time keeping up to date that would be awesome.
  2. Oh, sorry I assumed everyone knew what the armory is (which was stupid of me). WoW Armory is a website that synchronizes with the game servers and contains everyone's characters as well as all of the items that are in the game. What makes it a good community building tool is the ability to link people to your character page which has all of your gear, trade skill schematics, achievements, skill tree layout, etc.; pretty much any and all information about your character. You can search by player as well (at least I think you can, it has been a while since I used it) so if you group with someone and you are impressed by their performance you can look into their build and get an idea of how they play. As for utility it is very useful because it also allows you to have a theoretical build of gear. This would be especially helpful in SWTOR because it would allow you to compare stats with different modifications. One problem with Ask Mr. Robot (besides being out of date) is that the stats on the items aren't always correct. Because the armory synchronizes with the server this wouldn't be an issue. Since Bioware doesn't allow addons (and therefore no datamining for equipment stats can really take place) an armory would be the only way to really ensure the stats are correct.
  3. Your idea works in theory, but it is overly complicated. The reason why stings exist for the police is that they can't just arrest you because you told them you were going to do something illegal. It is only illegal once you do it so you have to catch people doing it. In a service like SWTOR EA can ban people for pretty much any reason in the ToS which is a LOT easier than arresting someone. I'm sure it is against the ToS to advertise for a credit selling company, so the current system of having legit players report the credit sellers works just fine. EA just has to check the report (which I'm sure contains a copy of the message) and if it is an advertisement for a credit selling service then they can just ban the account right then and there. Really the only way to permanently end the problem would be to ban the IP from creating new accounts and not allowing the swtor client to run if IP routing software is detected on the computer. This would be really ridiculously invasive on EA's part since they would have to scan your computer and most people would not like this (also I'm pretty sure it would be illegal in Germany; they have pretty strict privacy laws).
  4. Here is a fun tale that might lift some people's spirits. I was on fleet once and some random guy was asking for money for...something or other. I don't remember but he really needed it. It wasn't that much...8k or so if I remember correctly. He promised to pay me back. I didn't trust him so I just wrote the money off as a loss and gave it to him anyway. A couple days later he actually made good and sent back the money plus a few extra thousand.
  5. This is what I want to know. There may be some sort of technical limitation that keeps them from allowing more character spots. Personally I think subscribers shouldn't have a limit on the number of characters they have per server as long as they are willing to buy more character slot upgrades. But if there is some sort of problem then it is understandable why this isn't the case.
  6. Couldn't you just play on a PvE server? I don't so I don't know if there is a problem with that in any way.
  7. Far as I can tell Bioware has to add these affects on each individual helmet. It seems like they add them in as they get them done.
  8. I'm sure this has been asked before but I couldn't find any information on it anywhere. Are there any plans to introduce an official armory like the one World of Warcraft has? It would not only be good as a community building tool but it would also be useful for players trying out different builds. I know there is an unofficial tool at Ask Mr. Robot but it isn't kept up to date.
  9. I think it would be really fun to run a flashpoint with a group of my companions.
  10. Looks like Paladin of House Organna is similarly out of my reach.
  11. I did, it isn't even blue but I tried clicking it anyway. No dice.
  12. I remember back in the day the codex entry for 'Item Modification' was bugged for Troopers. It was supposed to get rewarded as part of a class quest. Now I have decided to look for some of my missing entries and read that this is no longer bugged. I obviously can't play through my class quest again to get the entry. Does anyone know of another way to unlock it, or am I just out of luck with this for now?
  13. Technically, depending on what you view as a 'complete' set, you would need anywhere from 8 slots to 48 (one focusing on each tree of each AC) ALSO, I completely forgot one addition I would love to see: Pazaak / Sabaac.
  14. Number one, by far, is SGRA with companions (specifically Vette). After that I think Dual Spec would be nice, especially if it saved the button configurations too, but that is mostly because I'm lazy. I would like to see more story content, obviously, but I would also like to be able to decorate our ships. I don't think we necessarily need player housing because our ships serve that function already, but we can't really do much with them. Being able to decorate them would be cool.
  15. Armorings can be moved into Droid gear now? I remember that was the entire reason why the Mandalorian Wardroid / Assassin gear was introduced: armorings and mods were bound to the type of equipment. Well if the armorings and everything can be moved over than it would just be the same gear as everyone else, and if not then it looks like the old BIS is still the best. That is pretty much what I needed to know, thanks.
