  1. Looking for an organized raid group. Prefer Tank or DPS. I have been raiding off and on in various games for more than a decade.
  2. Beaten both 16m and 8m hard mode. 16 is significantly more difficult. Literally beat 8man HM in 3-4 pulls, 16man HM took about 20. I suppose it could be fielding a 16m roster provides a diluted player skill base, even taking that into consideration I'll firmly say 16m as much more difficult. Also, whoever said that thing about story mode being on par with hard mode obviously has no clue, Kephess is many many many times more difficult on hard mode. http://www.chosen-guild.com/ 8man kill photo is down for some reason will correct it soon
  3. Yeah there is a ground pound phase sub 10%, and the AOE tics do twice as much damage. Shining more light on the subject, the AOE tics hit me for roughly 750 on HM 16 man while the sub 10% it hits for about 1400. Definitely an intended mechanic, sort of a soft enrage I'd guess.
  4. Thanks for the clarification :] with this taken into consideration threat is actually easier to control, further disproving the OP's complaints... Threat should never be an issue.. DPS shouldn't ever have to throttle and tanks should never have to wear DPS gear...
  5. /signed I 100% agree with OP, a lot riding on 1.2.. pretty sure my guild will clear it in 2 weeks and sit around waiting for new content... TBH it's probably not going to hold our interest because of the stance they are taking with raiding, combat logs and the extreme steps they go through to keep casual forum whiners happy. But hey, can't blame them, casual forum whiner that plays 5 hours a week and doesn't raid pays the same 15 dollars I pay, except they don't provide much to the economy or community.
  6. Posts like this make me facepalm. I want to give a breakdown from my understanding. Emphasis on MY UNDERSTANDING. Taunt = Caps tanks threat + 6 seconds of target's focus. Example: - Highest DPS has 100,000 threat/damage on boss. - Tank taunting brings the tank's threat to 100,000 along with 6 seconds of face time with the boss. - In order for anyone to pull threat at this point they would need to get 30% more threat than the tank. e.g. 130,000 threat before the tank is able to taunt again. The tank will be continually gaining threat through damage, so that 130,000 threat window will be continually increasing. Easily maintainable until your 15 second taunt CD is ready to go again. Continuing the Example: - 2 minutes into the fight the top DPS has 600,000 threat - Tank taunts and is instantly brought to 600,000 threat, in order for anyone to pull aggro they will need to have 600,000 + 180,000 (30% of 600,000) threat. No one is going to do 180,000 damage in 15 seconds(taunt CD) so literally at this point in the fight the tank could sit around pressing taunt every 15 seconds. With all this said, the only remote possibility for anyone to pull threat from a competent tank is in the first 30 seconds of the fight. As the fight progresses it is fairly impossible for anyone to generate enough threat to top the tank. How I personally do it is like this: All DPS should go all out, no holding back to bolster the max threat. - Tank opens with taunt - 7.5 seconds use AOE taunt (fully utilizing the 6 seconds of forced facing) - Taunt again when it is available - Call for threat drop right after the third taunt. Lets say in this 18-20 second period the threat is 50,000 when using that third taunt. For the DPS to pull aggro at this point they will need to get 65,000 + 12500(top threats aggro drop) + whatever the tank generates in threat. Not likely before taunt is ready to go again. Hopefully this isn't TL;DR but I'm basically saying that no DPS can pull aggro off a competent tank. Correct me please if you think I'm bat **** crazy, but as far as I know everything I posted here rings true and has worked for me thus far. For the record I tank and clear 16man NMM Karagga and EV every Tuesday without ever having aggro issues, thanks!
  7. I'm sorry but this is shenanigans, and so is your guild if they call for you to not DPS for 5-10 seconds lol... taunt = threat override, tank is at the top. This game is easymode tanking literally if your tank doesn't suck balls there is a 18 second window at the start of a fight where NO ONE can pull threat off the tank even if you crit the boss for half of his health pool. After this 18 second window, use aggro drop and continue DPSing. If the tank continues to taunt you cant pull aggro. I don't doubt you have uber stats but I am positive I have many in my guild with the same gear, assuming you have BIS, with BIS mods. With all this said I conclude you need a better tank, one that can properly rotate his two threat abilities.
  8. I didn't read much of anything aside from first post. Tank taunt = top of threat meter & mob forced to attack tank for 6s, all tanks have two, 15s and 45s CD. DPS threat drop = unsure if it drops you to 0, but it is significant, 45s CD With that said I have been doing 16man NMM runs for the past several weeks as a BH tank, threat isn't an issue ever on a boss fight where you can taunt. Even stacking mercs with buggy stacked tracer missiles enabling them to crit with heat seeker for over 10k easily and threat is never an issue. If you are pulling threat on a single tank target, it doesn't mean you're good, it means your tank is bad. You should be able to go balls to the wall on anything tankable and the tank not lose aggro. (TANKS)Literally regardless of gear if you do this you will never lose aggro on a single target: - open with 15s taunt - after 6-7s use the AOE taunt - when 15s taunt is back up use it again. - call for DPS to aggro drop. at this point use the two taunts as they come off CD and you should never lose aggro (obviously DPSing your heart out in between but there is only so much a tank can do)
  9. I've main tanked EV norm8man as shield tech over jugg in blues and greens
  10. I just began realizing something was wrong when I was questing in Ilum and could only grab two quests.. assuming this happens to everyone who decides to kill the Chancellor and leave Darth Tormen alone? Hardly game breaking.. What am I missing? Some dailies in Ilum? Either way it needs to be fixed, but if you're concerned with dailies, there are a few daily quests in Belsavis that reward tokens. I was thinking something was wrong when I didn't receive a title for completing my class quests and the loading screen still said "Chapter 3". Is there an official response to this? For those of us without access to some of the Ilum dailies?
  11. you have to complete normal foundry/BP to pick them up, right outside the door (these are the only ones like this, probably because its semi-story driven)
  12. Yeah, the last boss I'm assuming you are having trouble with? It was tough but doable with a good group. We killed the sword guy(security chief i think) followed by the commander, then the medic. The only real problem is the massive amount of damage the Commander does to everyone with his random grenade launcher. Everyone needs to be at 31+distance, out of the launcher range, except the tank, only the tank should be getting hit. Lure the security chief over, kill him, then everyone zerg the commander, tank can interrupt the healer if he's good, inquis should be popping bubbles on everyone, even if he's DPS. Took many tries but this works if you are good enough. Obviously after Commander is dead, medic is cake, even though he may enrage.. still manageable.
  13. Ok so, you get into hard modes by going to the quest giver and accepting the [Hard Mode] option. Not all dungeons have hard modes; that being said, what dungeons do? Black Talon, accepted from the quest giver in the Korriban/Hutta dock Foundry and Boarding Party, accepted from the soldiers standing right outside their entrances All bosses in hard modes seem to enrage, atleast 90% of them.. [second foundry boss] didn't seem to... Also, last boss in foundry seems to be bugged? Got him to 30% several times and he just starts 1 shotting everyone without the enrage buff.. seemed to happen every time after force storm.. if it is intended then I'd imagine the enrage buff would be there. Lastly.. where are the lv50 instances? like Directive 7? lol
