  1. I believe that you hit ESC and go to Interface Editor. From there, click on the Operations Frame. In the window in the center, you should be able to adjust the various parts of it so it looks like how you want it (such as size, etc.).
  2. To transfer your characters to another server, you have to go to My SWTOR on the website and log into your account. From there, look for Character Transfer and see if any of your characters are eligible for a free transfer. You don't do transfers from the game client. What you described is called "rerolling", where you create a new character and in this case, on a new server.
  3. So far, I've been making money by selling my old crafting mats on the GTN. For example, I'll be out questing and as I quest, I gather mats. I gather all mats I can, even those I'm no longer using. I use the mats to level my crafting crew skill. Any extra mats I sell on the GTN. My currently highest character is only level 38, but I have over 700,000 credits. All from selling the mats (scavenging) I didn't use for my crew skill (armstech).
  4. Hmm.. ok, let's try a few steps. Just so we are all on the same page. - Drag your blaster from your character sheet into your inventory. Your main hand should now be empty on your character sheet. - Right-click on the blaster in your inventory to equip it. The item will disappear from your inventory and appear in your character sheet. - Talk to any vendor. In the vendor window is a "Repair All" button. Click that. If everything is already repaired, it won't cost you anything and the button will be greyed out. Hopefully you also have enough credits to repair your gear. If you don't, you may want to see some things in your inventory in order to repair your gear. If your gear is broken, it won't give you stats and your weapons won't be able to fire or use abilities. - Look at your Quickbar (the bar on your screen with all of your abilities). If you haven't moved any of those abilities, Rapid Shots should be in your #1 slot. Missile Blast will be in your #2 slot. Just for testing purposes, if those abilities are not in those two slots, drag them from your abilities window (Press P on your keyboard) to your Quickbar. I would highly recommend hitting the little "lock" icon next your you #1 slot so you don't accidentally move abilities off of your bar, after your abilities are on your bar. (Note: This is also assuming that you did not change your keybindings.) - Find something to attack next. Most abilities won't actually work unless you have a hostile target. Since we are just testing, find a lower level target so you don't get killed by accident. - Now we'll try attacking. Press the 1 key on your keyboard or with your mouse. Or you can try right-clicking on the target (this will also enable your ability on your 1 key). Try pressing the 2 key. Hopefully your blaster has fired. *crosses fingers*. If it hasn't, maybe something in the UI is preventing it from going off. As far as I know, there isn't a bug such as you are experiencing. Edit: What kind of message are you getting when you try to use your abilities?
  5. I'm always 2-3 levels above my quests as well, but I'm leveling with a partner so we get "group xp" as well as normal xp. Other things (besides Flash Points) that you can do to gain more XP if you are getting underleveled, are Space Missions as well as Warzones.
  6. There are different types of "blasters". There are blaster pistols and blaster rifles. A Bounter Hunter (pre-advance class) can only use a blaster pistol. Are you trying to use the correct type of blaster?
  7. Yep! Hit ESC, then go to Interface Editor. Look for the Target of Target box (will probably be red) and select it. Then look at the window in the center and find the check box to Enable this. It will change it from red to either blue or green (which means that it's enabled). Ta da! Edit: Oh, and it's a different box for your Target of Target cast bar. You may need to enable that as well.
  8. It seems that there is no way for you to do this yourself. You'll need to contact Customer Service and have them remove your old Security Key so you can add your new one. I didn't see anything in My SWTOR for removing your Security Key yourself. And there is no option in the actual app for putting in your old serial number from your old phone.
  9. If you notice, there is a little note at the bottom of your skill tree: The skill trees for Operative and Scoundrel have not been updated since the patch. As such, the values may not be correct since Bioware changed a few things. With the changes, it may have bugged out Torhead's skill calculator for all healing trees. Or the skill calculator is just bugged in general on Torhead, especially since it's listing shared trees on the far left instead of the far right (annoying!).
  10. The datacrons are supposed to be a challenge to obtain. The stats gained from them are not that much (especially when they are stats that aren't beneficial to your class) so they are not all that game-breaking even if you are trying to min/max your character. The initial datacrons are supposed to be relatively easy to obtain (with maybe a little thought put into them) to introduce you to them. After that, they will be a challenge. Using something other than just fighting enemies is a nice change for a game to obtain those extra bonus stats. You have to fight enemies to obtain all your other stats (to obtain gear), that datacrons should be different and challenging. Everyone can mash buttons to kill something. Not everyone has the patience and skill to obtain those more difficult datacrons.
  11. Are you playing the game for someone else's enjoyment, or your own? Are you playing the game for yourself or them? You are the one playing the game for yourself. Don't let others dictate how you play the game. You don't have to be level cap as soon as possible. You don't have to have the best gear instantly. Enjoy the game for yourself and play how you want to play. If you want to take your time leveling, that's fine. The journey is just as important (if not more so!) as the destination. You don't have to get the best gear possible, you can do what you want and run flashpoints or work on your legacy and all the other things to unlock and do. Don't let others dictate how you play. Don't let others force you to rush to level cap. Don't let others force you to grind out the best gear. Don't let others look down on you for not doing it. If you let others force you to play the game how they want you to play, you won't enjoy it and you won't have fun. Who cares if there is a level increase? It just means more storyline and more to do. More game for you to experience and play.
  12. Actually, I just built a new computer this past week. Micro Center had some really good deals on processors that I couldn't pass up. So, for under $300, I ended up with a new case, new motherboard, new processor, new power supply, and new heatsink. I'm using my old video card and harddrive since both are about a year old. My CDDVDRW is my original since there was nothing wrong with it and it does what I need it to do. I'll be upgrading my video card next to match my shiny new PC. The processor I really wanted (AMD 6100) was only $20 more, but it was out of stock. Figures! They have 10 in stock now! Grrr... Processor AMD Phenom II X6 1045T Processor Memory (RAM) 8.00 GB Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 430 Gaming graphics 4096 MB Total available graphics memory Primary hard disk 746GB Free (932GB Total) Windows 7 Home Premium System -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Manufacturer Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Model GA-78LMT-S2P Total amount of system memory 8.00 GB RAM System type 64-bit operating system Number of processor cores 6 Storage -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Total size of hard disk(s) 932 GB Disk partition (C:) 746 GB Free (932 GB Total) Media drive (D:) CD/DVD Graphics -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Display adapter type NVIDIA GeForce GT 430 Total available graphics memory 4096 MB Dedicated graphics memory 1024 MB Dedicated system memory 0 MB Shared system memory 3072 MB Display adapter driver version 8.17.13.142 Primary monitor resolution 1680x1050 DirectX version DirectX 10 It took me a few hours to put it together, because I was doing two computers and I hadn't built one in a while (forgot stuff). Plus the front panel on the case was a pain to get off (broke a nail trying!). Overall though, it's not that hard to put together your own computer as long as you have all the parts, a screwdriver, and read the instructions. My video card is definitely what's holding me back now though. It currently runs very smoothly on medium settings. If I bump it to high, it'll run well except in certain areas like the fleet or my ship for some reason. So I just keep it around medium. Decided to add links to all the parts I got: Processor I wanted to get: AMD 6100: http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0375766 Processor I got: Phenom II: http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0382798 Motherboard (included when you got a processor): GA 78LMT-S2P: http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0366104 Case: Zalman Z11 Plus: http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0386580 Heatsink (because the one that comes with the chip is super tiny and doesn't cool enough): Cooler Master Hyper 212: http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0315397 Power Supply: Voltas 500W: http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0311650 I ended up getting a couple other parts like thermal grease, a 4 pin to 3 pin cord since the case has two system fans but the motherboard only has one system fan plug, and cord to extend the length of the power supply to the harddrive because the cord that came with it was too short and wouldn't reach properly. Sadly, the store is 30 miles from me and I ended up making 3 trips down there over the course of the build to get extra parts I didn't know I needed or them selling me the wrong processor and I didn't noticed until after the fact (but they took $10 off it).
  13. Very Viable. I'm currently leveling a Scoundrel Smuggler specced Sawbones. Since you start out with your tank companion (Corso), it's fairly easy to let him take the hits while you damage and heal. For non-elite packs, I'll throw him in to get all the aggro and just blast away at things. If it's elites and up, I'll CC what I can with Tranq an Disable Droid, then heal him while he tanks. I'll throw in some extra damage and CC with Flash Grenade and Dirty Kick. Scoundrels get a lot of CC that's really useful. Plus, if things go pear-shaped, you have a lot of useful things to keep yourself alive such as Surrender, Defense Screen, and Dodge. And you can use Disappearing Act to get out of combat if things really do blow up on you. I <3 my Smuggler.
  14. Alternatively (especially since that little + sign didn't work for me when I started playing again - I think the patch that added the Interface Editor removed that little +), you can hit ESC and open up your Interface Editor. Once in the Editor, look for the Red Quickbars (these are the disabled Quickbars). Click on them then look through the options in the window in the center. There should be a little box you can check to Enable that Quickbar. Ta da! Quickbars! You can move around everything while there, too!
  15. I'm wondering if there is a way to do a complete UI reset (like in other games). If there is a way, I'm not sure what it is. Does SWTOR come with a repair utility program? If so, I'd suggest running that. If not, a fresh reinstall should definitely fix the issue, but that's a last resort since it takes so long. I would recommend would be trying to find that XML file with your UI in it (I can't find where it is on my computer, been looking), and see if you can manually change it there, if it's saved there. One other thing I would recommend would be posting in the Customer Service Forum to see if a droid can help (not sure if they have knowledge of that or not).
